And no, we didn’t come here to say we told you so, we have come here to look at why and how Arsenal managed to throw away their lead at the top of the table this season.

lack of squad rotation meant that players were getting tired (Saka, Martinelli) and when they were replaced the playes weren't good enough because they had little to no experience and little game time (Tomiyasu against City is an example). Lack of depth is also another factor for this as well. City had a lot of squad rotation and could bench the likes of Grealish, Mahrez, Laporte and even get rid of Cancelo and they'd still have an amazing team-sheat.

I've been saying this, they lack squad depth. But still they proved to have a good first team and now they need to invest on squad players and improve for a new season, Arteta is really doing a really impressive job.

Nah, tired is just an excuse, Arsenal only play once a week like other team and still droping points start from Liverpool draw and cant even beat Southampton at home

the thing is ,city doesnt even have that kind of depth anymore 😂 esp on the back, pep literally has to change his whole tactics 😂, sure some positions has great backups, but some of them did not. also arsenal been playing only for PL lately.

@@albethrone9060 playing once a week doesnt mean they cant be tired. saka for instance started every game for both club and country for like a year and a half straight.

Not really. Arsenal have been conceding a bucketload since the world cup when Saliba was still playing. They just scored a lot of goals too to win games

Liverpool were top of the table at christmas in 2020/21 season. The Van Dijk injury wasnt the reason why Liverpool fell off, it was injuries to Van Dijk, Matip & Gomez all 3 main CBs

people say that arsenal don't have the right squad size but people don't realise that man city and arsenal have very similar squad sizes with man city having 24 players and arsenal having 23. So it isn't about squad size, but its about the quality of the squad.

That's what they mean by squad size, it basically means the quality a reserve player has in order to fill in the shoes of the first-team player. Otherwise all teams would use their U23 players but obviously you can't do that unless you are expecting to lose....

Arsenal had a 5 point lead (accounting for City’s game in hand) with 9 to go. They still had to then go to the Etihad - home of the best team in Europe, Anfield, and St James Park among others. They had to keep up exceptional form with a squad that was universally tipped to finish 5th, and struggling without a key defender. Meanwhile the best team in Europe has gone on a 12 game and counting winning streak. “Bottling” is a stupid term applied here.

38 EPL matches alone will kill a team of 11 players with cup matches still to come. Haaland even just played 45 min half just to protect his fitness, that why man city also take years to gets extra suitable players with their young players to grind, eg Grealish took some time to fit in n also in team rotation. Arsenal will hope to get new players hopefully able to fit in and challenge for the title again. Arsenal players are pushing their tired bodies every week, injuries are norm as a result

I'm not joking, I had terrible stomach pain and pain killers didn't help at all, so I turned on RU-vid to put mind somewhere else and stumbled upon this video. I expected this. They are totally inexperienced and have a bad squad depth. The first eleven were exhausted for this. So there was a drop in playing intensity. Well you can only learn from this and hope for the best next season. This will either make or break Arteta as a manager next season

Even though we say injuries this team lacked maturity and not only in this squad also some past season squads which i show as the main factor i dont know who is responsible for this in arsenal another thing is selfishness sometimes with jesus martinelli and saka,injuries have played a very minimal role to bottling the league if only were mature in enough we could have won this tittle even the coach himself made the way it is sticking with the same formation and was too predictable he needs to up his thinking also

It's still technically possible for them to win it, but that would require them to win both of their remaining games and for City to lose all 3 of theirs So yeah, they definitely screwed up in the defensive department

And you really think Man City will lose those games at this point especially against Chelsea... Remember if Man City beat Chelsea this Sunday they'll win the title, if Arsenal lose on Saturday CITY will win the league without touching the ball. It's too late to give Arsenal the benefits of a doubt.

The truth is City are operating with one of the smallest squads in the league. In fact they have used the fewest number of players this season - just 22.But we rotate better, De bruyne has played less than Saka a young player Arteta did not him protect, who got burnt out
