We moved out of Star because we became frustrated with the unchecked growth. Star has yet to meet a developer they don't like. They seem to bend over for anyone which is why Star is becoming littered with beige and gray homes as far as the eye can see. Five to six homes per acre has become the norm.
Wow, that sounds like Eagle. Many white, gray and beige homes there too. Come to think of it, that is Treasure Valley except downtown Boise, Caldwell and Nampa.
I do think if you lived most of your adult life in coastal CA and you moved to Meridian/Eagle/Star, you may not like the weather 6 months a year. I was born and raised in CA (San Francisco Bay Area) and we chose to move to Eagle about 8 years ago. The first few years took some adjusting, especially during the winter. I think my wife still misses a more temperate climate, while I have come to love the real four seasons. Fortunately for me, my wife hates the craziness of the politics in CA enough, she would never want to move back permanently.
