My girlfriend and I watch a TON of travel videos and we randomly came across this one for the first time. We both love the way yours are setup. Very fun & interesting but not a ton of random filler to make the videos longer just because. You guys definitely earned a new subscriber. :) I'm honestly super surprised your channel doesn't have more subscribers than it does!
Wahoo! Welcome to the channel. It really means a lot to get a comment like this. We do not plan to stop traveling any time soon and are very excited to show you what is coming up next. Thank you for subscribing and following along. Every new subscriber helps keep us going.
@@SOSASATSUNRISE Absolutely! :) We look forward to all of your upcoming videos. Any chance we could get some videos dedicated to the best street food in your travels? ;) When we travel abroad, we go to maybe a couple of nicer restaurants and the rest of the time we look for local street food vendors or hole in the wall restaurants because it's so much more authentic.
Absolutely! Winter shuts down a lot of street food stalls and many places we have traveled to serve very affordable food anywhere you go but we will for sure film some street food videos in the future. 😁
We have never wanted to return to a country so badly. We keep thinking of scenarios where we can fit it in to our schedule. It might be a month or 2 years but we will for sure be back. Thanks for watching!
I've lived and worked in Lisbon over the last 2 years. Easily in my top 3 places to live. It's called 'Cidade das sete colinas', which is city of seven hills, and yes, there are a lot of them around. Probably why all the Glovo and Bolt deliverymen have electric bikes and scooters.
5:25 - How did it feel to drink a beverage that's as old as the USA? :D Btw, Capilé has nothing to do with tea, it's a beverage made with syrup from a plant called Avenca (Adiantum capillus-veneris), diluted with water. : ) 9:00 - Now, this image right here is the sign that two people fully enjoyed what they were eating.
Interesting! I would have bet my bottom dollar capile was some kind of tea. That chicken was something else. It will be a while before anyone can top Portuguese roasted chicken!
Ouch! Public transport is the way to go but Uber is surprisingly affordable in many European cities! Atleast you got to where you were going hassle free 😃
This video was filmed all over the city but I will try to narrow it down. Any place on the 28 tram line, Miradouro da Senhora do Monte for the best views and then the area from Martim Moniz Square to Arco da Rua Augusta. Hope this helps! Have the best time in Portugal and thanks for watching!
Yeah so I’ve been living in Lisbon and the idea that it’s cheap is old. It’s a lot more expensive post covid. If you’re getting a coffee for a euro or less, guaranteed it tastes like shit
One other thing… Lisbon is one of the best places for English speakers. I speak Portuguese but I have friends who have been living here for two years who speak no Portuguese and they have no problem getting by
Lisbon may have cost less in the past but compared to other western European countries, it's still quite affordable. It is also nice to be able to communicate without worry. We love talking to locals and wish we could speak the local language wherever we go but if they speak English then that works too! Thank you for watching and leaving your thoughts. 😀
I love going into barbershops in different countries. You never know what is going to happen. We just filmed a video of our next haircut in Izmir, Turkey. Talk about an experience. Stay tuned for that video very soon. Thanks for watching and hope your travels are going well!
Sorry to say, but the Santa Justa lift, its just a tourist trap, 5 minutes walking and you were on the top. Thanks for this video about my city. You guys seem like a nice couple.
I really like the way you guys travel and it’s nice to see how affordable Lisbon is. How long would you guys recommend visiting Lisbon for the average traveler? Was this video taken in just one day? Seems like an easy place to get around! I’m looking to visit Portugal and hope to see the Madeira islands as well Thanks for all of the great content!
Thank you! Lisbon is definitely a more affordable place to travel than some European cities. We were there one week and we explored almost every day. The video you saw was filmed over two days but I think one really long day is enough to get a good feel for the place you would just leave feeling like you missed a lot. Give yourself at least 3 to 4 days in Lisbon if you can. We would also recommend Porto. We haven't been but every single local told us "you like Lisbon? You would love Porto!" So we are excited to see for ourselves some day. Madeira is amazing. Any of the islands I think are a great choice. Just depends what your main interests are. If you end up visiting any of the above, please let us know how it goes!
I adored your video and how down to earth you guys are. You got a new subscriber. BTW: I liked the haircut. I adore Lisboa/Lisbon. There’s something so magical and refreshing that fills you with happiness. Porto and anywhere Portugal is beautiful.
We would love to go to Porto and travel through more of Portugal! ahah I guess the haircut didn't turn out too bad. Thank 😃you for the sub! Every little bit helps us continue traveling. 😃
Sixth reason: Portuguese kids start learning English at a young age, so you will not have much language barrier. Found you guys while searching for CX 5 conversion. We are empty nesters and reseaching for travel plans after retirement. We took our kids to a lot of national parks. We van camped at Yosemite before van camp was even popular. (It was so difficult to book a room inside the park in short notice, and we were not going to make those hairpin turn driving in and out of Yosemite more than we had to. We decided to van camp.) I enjoyed your NPs videos and others. They bring back fond memories and opens up new adventures. Good job. We enjoyed coffee, seafood and pastries in Portugal. We will try your chicken dish when we visit next time.
Other than bacalau, we kind of missed out on the seafood. But after that chicken, we did not leave Lisbon disappointed. Thank you so much for watching and following along! 😊
Welcome to Lisbon. See you next year maybe ;) You have so many astonishing things to see. Welcome to our small but amazing country ;) Wish you all the best guys
Thank you! We will be back every year if we have the ability. Portugal is amazing and we can't wait to come back and explore the other small towns and cities. Thanks for watching!
Thank you so much! We post the price of everything. Food, transportation, accommodation, everything. If we do not verbally tell the prices, we always show the price in a caption at the bottom with prices converted to USD. Welcome to the channel!
The most fantastic people...An absolutely beautiful brilliant city. Only city...after years of travel around the world.. we're going back.. although My number one for last 20 years was San Francisco ❤❤❤
I believe it! Costs are always higher in the major cities and if the people are this nice in major cities then I can't imagine the hospitality and friendly people in the smaller towns. Thanks for watching!
Thank you! Just a different look than what I am used to and not exactly what I asked for. The shop was very nice and still a wonderful experience. Thanks for watching!
