We are not afraid to take an extra day to reach our final destination in order to save some money. When that extra day is spent in a city we really love, it is a no brainer. Our travel day from Lachen, Switzerland to Plovdiv, Bulgaria. It took 3 days, 2 trains, 2 planes, and a bus but we have made it to the last country we will see in Europe, for now.

Have a great time in Zagreb! We did not mention it in this video but Nathan's dish is seasonal. Our server made a special request from the kitchen and had it made for us. I guess September is the first winter month in Croatia Thanks for watching!

Yer the first Bus Station is only for the international routes. The second one is only for bulgarian routes.

Bus travel seems so stressful. Where to catch the bus? How to buy the ticket? When to get off too, for me usually. Give me a train station any day! I went to Bulgaria once a long time ago. It was still communist. I took a package tour to Sunny Beach. A concrete jungle. But it does have nice beaches and it was very cheap. I took a bus to a nearby city. When I went to the bus station to return I had the same realisation as you. No bus had Sunny Beach as a destination. It was all Cyrillic alphabet. The drivers I tried asking didn't speak English and I was panicking. Fortunately a bus inspector understood what I needed. Slanchev Briag if I remember correctly.

Oh, I forgot to say, I'm visiting Zagreb soon for my first time. First Ljubljana, then Bled followed by Maribor. Then a train to Zagreb and fly back home to England from there. I visited Croatia once before in the Pula/ Rovinj area of Istria. Now they're in the Euro zone so no Kuna to contend with and no border checks between Slovenia and there 😁

We love trains too! Many times a bus is faster, cheaper and more direct. We always thought bus travel would be miserable but they really aren't too bad for shorter distances and you stick get to see the some views from the road!

With all your amazing content I must've missed an obvious question (which I'm sure you covered). You both appear to only speak English. How do you overcome the language barrier in all the countries you two visit? Is there even a barrier at all? During filming I hear you using English exclusively. Do you make it a practice to try to communicate using the local language? If you covered this (I'm sure you have, I must've missed that video) just point me in the right direction. My wife & I are headed to Europe in a few months and trying to prepare. Thank you!!

Great question! We do only speak English with a little Spanish. The three words we tend to learn are hello, chicken, and beer. 😄 Most Europeans know English and you won't have a problem. We use Google translate on our phones to fill in the gaps. Download languages ahead of time and you should be good to go. Most of the time, people like when you try to use their language and they will give you a smile for trying.

@@SOSASATSUNRISE Thank you. I have been playing around with Google Translate and have downloaded languages for use if/when I won't have data. Does great translating signs/menus/etc and seams to be able to play back audio (so I can ask a taxi driver to take me somewhere). Was curious how you two managed it. GREAT CHANNEL. Love watching your adventures and gear loadouts/breakdowns.

Bulgarian and Croatian are very similar. I am Bulgarian and when I was in Zagreb, I understand around 70% from Croatian. For both sites ist not problem to understand each other, if even they wright different scripts.
