Ok, I'm intrigued. I know you really enjoyed the 540i...I'm seriously considering what car to get to take into retirement. My final 5...BMW M550i, 540i, and M440i...Mercedes E450 and E450 Coupe...all with AWD. Thoughts???
Personally I’d go with the M550i out of the BMW’s you’re looking at. I think the M Performance models provide a great balance and good value for the price. Mercedes will always be more appealing with their interiors as I think esthetically they look more modern and are certainly more luxurious. BMW’s have better driver feedback and that’s where I’d lean more towards BMW. It really comes down to your driving style and what you’re looking for. Mercedes Benz = Luxury and overall comfort and refinement BMW = More engaging to drive with a slightly more simplistic interior
@@BostonAutoBlog Thanks for getting back to me. I've test driven the 540i, not the M550i...yet. Right now I drive a '19 Charger RT and love the V8. I know I'd love the V8 of the M550i, but I keep wondering if it's the smart choice for a (hopefully) LAST/retirement car...thinking about long-term repair costs and if I really need all that power when I'm 90...do you think a cop would buy "But officer, I thought I could drive a speed equal to my age?" 🤣😂 Anyway...I know the M550i would blow me away, but I'm trying to want the 540i...BUT, I plan on ordering whichever to build it my way, my last, DREAM car. Your right about Mercedes interiors. Love your reviews!
@@uofan1 For retirement and keeping long-term, I would say to order the 540xi and have the M-Performance Power and Sound Kit installed at the port. I love my BMW's but their V8's and long term reliability do not mesh well, stick w/ the I6. Also, look into Performance Center Delivery. You will not regret it and costs you nothing extra.
I seen one of these in Atlanta the other day and they say cars look better in person than photos and this is sill ugly in person I wasn’t feeling it at all
