@@DerellesGarage This body style came out when I was in middle school.. im now 34 years old and got one know I have owned my New Edge for about 4 years ago.. im building mine a little bit at a time.. I only got a few mods
@@DerellesGarage also don't listen to all the hate these cars get from people like the LS crowd or all the 5.0 coyote people.. these cars are still fast and cool..
They're finally drying up to the point that people who have them are starting to treat them decently now instead of just trashing them. A real shame when anyone neglects a car or does shitty "mOdS" without thinking first, but finally SN95's and New Edges are pulling out of that and most not all the people who own them are giving them a little respect.
I have just passed one year already with owning a 1999 cobra 🐍 and it was one of the best decision I ever made when finding a mustang to buy. The new edge mustangs have one of the best sounding v8’s out there and are capable of much added performance later on. Love the ride man, can’t wait to see updates
I used to have a 99 cobra, I loved that car, had to sell it, I did drop a twin turbo set up in, just a touch over 1k at the wheels. Borla race exhaust, BBK long tubs and H pipe for the torque. shot 3ft flames, it tickled my butt dyno and eargasmed me all the time. I miss that damn car.
Been said before, but hang onto that GT. Values are climbing. My first Mustang was a Laser Red ‘99 GT hardtop, 5 speed. Miss that car, it was super fun and hella reliable. Owned it from 2006-2008. Got orders for the UK and sold the car, regrettably. Fast forward to 2019 and I found myself a nice 2004 Azure Blue Mach 1 5 speed, all stock. Great car, super collectible. Fast forward to 2022 and the wife and I sold the house, moved on base and had some left over scratch. What to do? Buy another New Edge of course!! 😂 So this time we bought a 2004 Torch Red Mach 1 5 speed…..but this one is built from top to bottom, tip to stern. No expense was spared on it by the previous owner, 1 owner car with just a hair over 66k miles. Dyno’d (on a Dynojet down at Premier Performance in SLC) at 717rwhp with 663tq on 93 pump gas pushing 14 pounds of boost on a Whipple 2.9 blower. It has 3.90 gears, moser 31 spline axles, FRPP diff, aluminum driveshaft, MM rear control arms, Tokico D spec shocks/struts (for now, changing them to Koni’s soon), it has gigantic Brembo calipers/rotors up front, UPR coilover K member, BBK long tubes, forged 5.1 stroker assembly, balanced and blueprinted engine (stock WAP block, stock DB heads), etc…etc…it has a lot. The guy threw everything including the kitchen sink at it. It was a dedicated NMRA car. It’s amazing that the stock 3650 still works well in it! 😂 Eventually I plan on swapping to a TKX transmission as well as adding a cage and some other things. I want to replace the stock rear cobra brakes for Taurus rear brakes since the front brakes are bigger. It currently has 18x9/18x10 FR500 wheels….but I’m trying to get LMR to offer 18 inch Mach 1 wheels so I can run those. It has the 99-01 Cobra front bumper cover but I plan on switching back to the normal GT bumper. Got some other plans for it too. As for the Azure Blue project, well for that I plan on keeping it largely stock. I will lower it some, I already have AFS wheels for it (17x8/17x10), it’ll get a new catback/mid pipe (I won’t be cutting the stock exhaust since they are rare), freshen up some things that need it, in general just make it a bit sleeker looking and more sinister sounding and just cruise it. It’s higher mileage (128k). Once we finally move back home I do plan on eventually buying a third New Edge (unless I croak before then 😂)….probably a GT, but maybe a Bullitt or a Cobra and do a 5.4 4v swap on one. The Coyote is nice, but it’s been done by everyone and their neighbor’s brother’s uncle’s nephew’s girlfriend’s dad’s brother’s best friend’s co worker. Lol, so I’d rather do something that most folks don’t do. You have a beautiful GT man!! Hang onto it! 🤘
I bought my 02 in 05 , we put the TFS heads and cams in in 2011, 330 + rwhp for years and great reliability, 4:10 gears too . They are light weight and that really matters on the street.
Man I'll be 64 April 2nd. Got me a 03 GT. Love everything you posting about the new edge. You have a nice one, keep up the good work, love the videos. Liked subbed, be safe. 🐎.
Awesome !! Congratulations! Thank you I appreciate that Bud, I’ll try my best , unfortunately I sold the car but will be buying another mustang soon !You take care and have a wonderful year. I greatly appreciate your support.
The four valves are where it’s at. 96-98 cobras and new edge Mach ones are so much more fun than a two valve and just as reliable. I’m daily driving an 02 GT right now fbo/tune car and my 97 Cobra was like a full second faster than this car. Best thing you can do for a new edge GT car is some 410 or 373 gears. The 3.27 gears dog this car so bad. Literally 410 gears and tires make these cars a completely different animal. Just like fox body cars.
Wow that’s cool bro !! Yeah they are sick! Personally I prefer 03-04 Cobras. And that’s the whole plan, when i get the chance to im gonna slap on some 4.10 gears to wake her up a bit . Thanks for watching and commenting stay tuned more videos coming soon!!!
308K on my GT. MPG is about 20mpg (highway). Hopefully it lasts until 500k then time for a brand new Stang or install remanufactured engine and transmission.
I have been driving my 04 mustang GT automatic dark shadow gray for 8 years and I have saved over 10 grand for repairs so that’s a long time with out a car note and still waiting for the engine to go out 185,000 miles and going strong and I take good care of it
Cars of that era had personality. They had their own look, their own sound. You could hear a car coming and know pretty well instantly whether it was a Mustang or Camaro without even seeing it. I’ve been fortunate enough to have owned a 00 GT, 03 GT, 06 GT, 07 GT and currently own my favorite of them all, 2003 Mach 1. I’ve always been partial to Mustangs and this body style car will only be more desirable as time passes. New cars are fast as hell but boring as hell! Nice ride bro!
I couldn’t agree more man well stated !! My favorite body style for sure ! However unfortunately I sold the car but will be buying something soon to replace it! Not sure just yet I love Mach 1s but also love the 99-01 cobras
@@DerellesGarage ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-S-tZl8PL4fw.html. This is a really old clip of my 03, which I drove daily for several years, and logged way over 100k mi. It was one of the most reliable cars I’ve ever owned.
Im 18 and i got a Mustang v6 2005 and It's Equal to the pre-new edge GT of 1995 i will tune my v6 and Will buy a new edge v8 like yours love ur new edge sn95 Greetings from México 🇲🇽💗
Yep that’s right sharp car, I found me one 8 years ago and I still have it here in 2022 it’s a 2004 mustang GT automatic dark shadow gray and I added a cold air intake and a staggered set of chrome wheels from American muscle
There is a guy on RU-vid that has an auto 2v bolt on drag pack stall it's surprisingly quick for what it is. You should check it out if you haven't already.
Love the car brother!! I'm a mustang guy myself....I have 2: 1998 Mustang GT (244K miles) and a new edge 2004 Mustang GT (135K miles)...Love them both...My 1998 is my daily which is the SN95 era (1994-1998)...Great video! take care of your car!! 💪💪
which one do you prefer? I personally think the 04 has a much cooler looking aesthetic. that generation was like a beefier slightly more modern looking version of the 98s generation. My dad had a 1998 mustang GT for around 15 years so I spent alot of time in it growing up. he gave up on it eventually though as it was becoming a huge moneysink. the last few years he had it, it seemed like as soon as he'd get one thing fixed another problem would arrise right after, and the final straw was when he was leaving the grocery store he couldn't get his car to start. the key would just turn freely. funny thing is last year I bought an 04 mustang and I love it. got it for 2400 at 145k miles. which I thought was a great deal but I learned my lesson of not taking a used car to be checked by a mechanic as I had to get the lower control arms and outer tie rods replaced a week after I bought it lol
Personally i LOVE the New-edge style 99-04 . I have to agree its a more striking appearance and looks really well. Almost timeless. And sorry to hear about your dads car yeah unfortunately some do become money pits lol. And congrats on the new car! Yeah sometimes used cars can be neglected prior to new ownership so its always best to double check before making a purchase but I really really hope the car does you well ! Thanks for commenting and I appreciate your support 🙏🏽🫶🏽!!!
Aye me too. 96 deep violet gt premium and a 2004 40th gt premium in shadow grey. I'm converting my 04 from a 2v to 4v and my 96 is getting a built 5.4 3v both manuals.
The Crown Vics nave the 1998 version of the 4.6V8, without the P.I. heads, so they only make 225hp. I have an 04 GT with 62,000 original that I bought brand new, and has the 40th badges, just like yours. Gas isn't that bad. Stock city is 18/19- w 24hwy.
Looks just like my 03. Except different wheels, and i painted the spoiler black. People ask me often if i want to sell it, i just cant do it. They do seem to be raising in value. Nice car man.
Just today bought an 02 GT with 72k miles for 1800 Edit: it’s actually an 03 lol. Finally gathered the courage to drive it home last night even though I can barely drive a stick
Beautiful car, idk why but I’ve always loved this generation of the mustang! They just look and sound amazing. Never been a Ford/Mustang guy, but I do like this
Right, i can agree with that. However its just perfect for starters and reliable so , sacrificing a little bit of power for reliability at the moment is pretty fair. When they first came out their power was enough to compete with its competitors. Perhaps 30-50 more horses would be Suffice when it first came out lol . But don’t worry I’ll be adding tasteful mods soon . We’ll gain some numbers 😎❤️
Omg that borla exhaust sounds so good ….. I love it, I have a 2000 v6 that I’m slowly trying to fix up, it was in bad shape as far as the body and the convertible top but she’s in better condition, the only concerns I had with her was some leaks ….. transmission, engine, and differential 😂…. I took care of the transmission leak, engine leak is not real bad and neither is the differential, I just keep putting fluid in it but overall for how old she is, not toooooooo bad, she could be worse and she’s never broke down on me …. I take care of her and she takes care of me 😂🤷🏽♀️
Thanks I really appreciate that !!!! Ouu sounds interesting! Keep it up take good care of it and it’ll run/last forever basically lol. Hope it all turns out well ! Thanks for watching stay tuned ❤️‼️
@@joetroy2904 Yes, I had a first gen Coyote, lots of bolt-ons, lowered suspension. Fun stuff. I had a kid and now I had 335 Msport. I needed something with AWD and sporty.
New Edge design SN95s are good looking and looks more aggressive, but I like the Original SN95 design much better as it look very European and and American at the same time with a V8.
I love the body style of the mustang from those yrs you mention , I believe the chasis is the same or I could be wrong. I was looking into one like yours there or the 2004 mustang SVT COBRA
@Derelle2V man, I haven't even seen one around town for a couple years. There is some guy somewhere that keeps it original, I'd take a Mach1 if I could get my hands on one also.
ive got a 2000 gt convertible with the regular mods kerker cai, American Muscle dumps (magnaflow-catback-dump-8604) I bought some knock off kerker long tubes but cant use because mine is a auto....I also have a brand new Hooker Blackheart X-Pipe | 96-04 Ford Mustang 4.6L 70803306-RHKR but not installed...may do throttle body later...mine needs a good bit of work tho...leaks trans fluid at the motor seal, oil filter connector leaks, need new rubber seals, rear side glass (tilts), and new bump stops one is stripped, interior parts........ tho I have AM lower springs, headlights, 17x9 Bullitt Wheel & 275x40x17 tires, on it now, and its tuned with a hand held tuner.....am hood scoop is still in the box with my trans go trans kit... I planned to fix it up over time but got cancer and im weak atm.....it sounds great tho If anyone reads this I lost all my brake lights...checked the fuses brake swith relays replaced muilti switch and rear shut off button...cant figure it out
So sorry to hear about your current state, keeping you in my prayers and I hope and wish you a speedy recovery and that you regain your strength. I appreciate you for watching my video bud. And your GT sounds like a good project! I look forward to hearing more about it sometime. Follow my instagram, send me some pics of it I’d love to chat with you and see more of your build. As far as your brake lights I’ll look on the forms for that one . Take care man . Instagram ( @jdblproductions)
Awesome car! Awesome video! I love that smile when you talk about the sound!! I had a Black 2000 GT Manual Trans! I always tell people, no its not fast! But it's quick and so much fun to drive! Can't wait to have another one back in the garage!
Thanks Bro !!! I appreciate that a lot ! Really? Thats sick 🔥. And absolutely ,I couldn’t agree more , fun to drive and sounds so good! Excited for you to get another one soon as well ! Thanks for watching!!
Thanks man. I really appreciate that means a lot seriously bro! Thanks for the support looking forward to sharing more videos . New one coming sometime this weekend/next weekend!
Goodluck in finding one that isn't Rusted badly at the lower shock towers and the torque boxes Here in Ohio as I've lost 5 foxbodys and an Sn 95 Mustangs Due to Heavy salt on the Roads Dont live in Ohio if you want a Mustang or buy one in this state
I love new edges I've had several in my younger years and now that I'm older I've been looking for a clean one. I finally found one it's an 01 with a 5.4 32 valve swap and is super clean but they want 9500 for it and won't budge on the price and I can't bring myself to pay that much for a new edge
Thanks bud I really appreciate it , still a lot of room for improvement ha ha , i got it from Magic Drift ! More of their products coming soon for the stang ! Stay tuned !
@@DerellesGarage and don't listen to nobody tell you you should get a manual swap or get a manual car the automatic is more consistent if you add torque converter gears tune nobody will be able to touch you in a manual car
@@DerellesGarage thanks dude he Is a hand full we own a performances shop where I live he is beast I love racing bikes and takeing it two are drag strip in my class I have not lost yet but he is far from stock trust and believe I love scaring my wife and my friends when they get in lol 😀 ❤️ then my dad has a 67 shelby gt 500 we are just a mustang and shelby Dodge and Corvette family 👪 out here in California
Personally the 05/09 mustang gts are to me the best bang for ya buck and there one of the best looking mustangs ever made. Fox is next. But 05/09 is where it’s at looks wise n good power wise with fbo
Ive got a 1996 ford mustang v6 3.8, sn95 but its not the stock, 3.8 mine came from a 1996 cougar with 215 hp, im getting it on the road this coming week
So trueee but I’ve definitely seen some go for that ! Especially heavily modified or well kept ones. 10-12k would be testing the waters seeing what ppl would offer for it lol
lol I had the same problems you mentioned. the tie rod boots were worn and cracked and I had to replace the outer tie rods and lower control arms. atleast my lca have zerk fittings now. I regrease my bad ball bearing or tie rod ? boots by using a grease gun with a needle fitting to push out the black grease and fill it up with fresh red grease every few months until it goes black
I have a 2000 GT 4.6L 5 speed the person prior made under the hood into a cooled air intake, I was wondering about your hood I think your hood would look great. Can you tell me the year ? My other car is a 1997 SL 600 V12 Mercedes Benz.
I've got the plain Jane coupe 3.9 liter V6 5-speed manual transmission... I absolutely love mine if I have my rathers I'd rather have a 5.0 dual cam dual valve with a 6-speed manual transmission but unfortunately I know if I had one of those I'd be getting tickets left and right so I'd rather have the V6 not that I couldn't get tickets in it I damn sure could but I'd rather not... I'd like to make a suggestion if I may get a hold of a guy by the name of Sean Wika SW lights he custom makes HIDs for the mustang and other cars and trucks... I have a set in my car and I'm telling you they are the difference between night and day he's a little on the pricey side but his product is very well worth it... There's nothing hard about hooking up those headlights everything is all plug and Play very simple to follow directions you can have it done within an hour as thay say on AM I would give it about a 1 on the difficulty meter... So not very difficult at all... Keep in mind if you do this you will have to mount the control module in a vertical position not a horizontal position... What I did with mine is I put it on the battery mount on an L shaped bracket... Keep in mind also you will have to change the wires on the plug there are three color-coded wires on your plug you will leave the center wire alone but you change the two outer wires and he will tell you how to do that very simple and very easy to follow directions
hey man i’m starting to make some money to save up and buy one these hopefully soon what are some thing i should look out for buying one? and how much do think i should spend on one
That’s awesome dude ! I hope it works out well! Id say don’t spend over 10k unless it has low milage, also too remember that what you pay is what you get so try to find one thats in ok / good condition. Watch out for rust !! My car has some rust that needs to be repaired soon so just watch for that and try to find a stock one ! No mods or little to no mods.
Go for it and actually mines is up for sale !! I dont wanna sell it but its a step towards a dream car. You’ll definitely fit! Im 5’7 plenty space ! Details on why im selling it in next video!
Yal the new edges are the best looking of 99 to. 04 they do look better an yal my 01 cobra does look like a wide body car the way they did the new edge car mustangs an the only trouble I've had on my cobra is coil packs an clutch an oh yal recently an oil cooler but the ford dealer finely got it right yal the right clutch an in 3 years it's still perfect it' is an exedy brand clutch an yal its a clutch you put in an forget about just make sure your flywheel is in good shape an all the other stuff an you'll have no trouble after that .
