Here’s a rule I also found while listening that also kinda adds to the expand your horizon rule: Any Pop song with a Synth of some sorts, drowned out vocals and some ethereal electronic production is a must. In particular stuff in the Dream Pop/Ambient Pop sub genres. I find that 95% of these songs create an atmosphere and vibe unlike no other.
