Mr. Clay, did you take both the SAT and ACT in your junior year of high school? Should I take both tests? I already started to prep for the SAT this summer (June) and I just came to know that I am more confident with the ACT. I would really appreciate an answer as soon as possible.
No, it's better to focus on 1 only, take both tests and see which one you score higher in or feel comfortable in. then focus on that test only, good luck

You've got this! Put your pencils, calculator, snack, ticket, and ID in a safe place before you go to bed. Get plenty of sleep tonight. Eat a good breakfast and do some light exercise in the morning. Let me know how you did!
You don't need to read passage very fast - if you spend 7 minutes on reading passage, and 6 minutes on answering questions, you're good. The point is you must predict the questions, emphasize important details, mark the sturcture of the passage, understand the development of the plot and narrator's thoughts while reading passage to comperhend it completely in 7 minutes, which will enable you to spend less time on questions than on passage. For example, if author cites scientist while discussing the experiment, you must think "Why is author referring to the scientist? is he backing up the main idea? Or maybe introducing different opinion? That can be one of the questions.".
Sorry for the late reply, but what we teach, you would essentially focus on just the key things to look for based on the questions. You don't need complete comprehension of the passage, just of the portions that involve the quesitons.
