Really informative content and a big help thank you! do you have any tips on fitting landscape items in vertical or portrait pins (a pair of iron gates are wider and more suited to a portrait configuration) that Pinterest doesn't seem to do. David
incredible video!! the term "flatlay" wow ty for sharing that I am having a blast on Canva tonight! always wondered how to find those flat laying backgrounds but didn't know the term. thank you!!!
I love your videos!!! Thank you for all the great tips!!! :) I’ve heard you say before that you create multiple pins on Canva for the same blog post; In that case, are you writing a new optimized description for each? (I’m assuming the titles are all different:) Would be curious too if they’re all targeting the same KW. Thanks again for your wonderful videos!!!! Finally getting started on Pinterest because of them!!! 😂
Katie... thanks for this amazing video. I already like creating on Canva, I think it is the best platform to create everything. But after watching this video, I love using Canva. All of your Canva hacks (two of them I already knew, but the other three I will be implementing starting today)... absolutely amazing, thanks again.
Hi Kathie, I am a fan of yours, I really appreciate this video! Learned about copy and resize on Canva this will save me so much time. Just started to create idea pins on Pinterest. Thank you and keep up the great work!
Thanks. No, idea pins are not clickable so they are for growing engagement and followers. To get more clicks I would create standard image pins instead.
hey katie! i tried using tailwind for batching my pins but its not allowing me to export pins I created in canva to tailwind, any idea how to do that? 🥰
in other video you said that pinterest cares only about fresh unique picture, not the text on your pin. Here you are suggesting to use the pictures from canva library which I believe thousands others are using. does it mean that if I use the same picture but style the pin differently it will be considered as a fresh pin by pinterest? it would be great to receive a reply as i am a bit confused. thank you
I think it depends. The best thing you can do is to create your own images (including photography). This is what Pinterest loves the most. However, that's not possible for everyone. So I personally do use Canva images and then just adjust the image to my brand. It's still considered a fresh pin (just not as fresh as a completely new image). Hope this helps.
Katie thanks for putting this great tutorial together! Q when you say Pinterest wants to see new pins, are you referring to the alone? Meaning can we still use the old URL (for blog posts), but just change the Pin image, is that considered a Fresh/New Pin for the Pinterest algo? Also, how often do you recommend updating older pins?
Hey Aleksandar, yes, this is precisely my point. You can use older posts and create new images for those old URLs. Of course, brand new blog posts are always best, and pins leading to a brand new URL will likely perform best. But the second-best thing is to create new images for existing posts.
Hi Katie, I love your videos and Pinterest tips. In your videos, you've said Pinterest wants us to make video pins and story pins. I created 2 story pins from pictures in one of my blog articles. The story pin is basically the same thing as my blog post but it's shortened into 6 pictures with captions. Does it have to be new pictures, should I make more story pins out of other posts on my blog or does it have to be all brand new? Thanks, Michelle
No, I think it's a great idea to repurpose content from your existing blog posts and use them in your videos and stories. Just remember, story pins don't have a link, but they are great to grow followers. On the other hand, video pins do have a link and can lead back to your blog post. Just create what makes the most sense for you.
I did many new fresh pins but because it is the same URL it looks like my account cannot reach many impressions, also a lot of warning from tailwind smart guide about using same URL. I figured out to do fresh pins it is not enough for old post. More success on my side with new url and less daily pins (max 3-5). So I am very disappointed because less pins but fresh pins I was ok with it, but add more URL to my website it is a lot of work. Thks
Yes, it seems like Pinterest is prioritizing new content (new URLs) over old posts. You can still create pins for your old posts, but yes, it's becoming more important to create new content and posts. It's more work, I agree.
Hi I have a serious question, I write 1 article a week so my question is, if I make 10 pins for that one article, How do I post 20 pins a day for that week? Do I just post those same 10 pins twice a day on 7 different boards in that week?
Personally, the Canva scheduler is not sophisticated enough for how I pin. I prefer to use Tailwind because it has so much more functionality. That said, I encourage you to test it out and see if Canva works for you-no need to pay for an additional service.
