I recently learned of the cutscene that plays if you enter Zora's Domain without doing that follow Sidon mission. Nobody ever really shows it because almost everyone does that mission.
Thank you for sharing that! I'm doing another playthrough of the game and was wondering if it was possible to get in elsewhere. Now i must see this for myself!
Oh yes, I did that by accident. I flew into the domain awhile after realizing what I might getting into and leaving without meeting Sidon. I flew into the palace from one of mountains and he was rather aggressive before realizing I was a Hylian. :/
It's actually really challenging to do so. The domain is plagued by rainfall until the curse is lifted, and the backside is entirely dominated by sheer cliff walls. You certainly couldn't stumble upon it on your first playthrough; the game design is specifically tailored that the entire domain is your next port of call from Kakariko and is structurally shaped to be a small trial to the Zora city itself, rather than just walk around. Still really cool they put that detail in though.
Funny enough that backside is probably the easiest way to guarantee the never seen sidon cutscene. Happy I went for it blind, I didn't expect Him to be the way he was.
I really do love this cutscene, as it shows Sidons serious side (but I love every side of Sidon lol😅) and I cant stop re playing the video I took of it for the 'and who might you be? The king isnt acepting visitors at this time. May I escort you out.' (Or something like that)
The three smaller temples I find interesting. There has definitely been a shift through the Zelda series when it comes to theology. Starting in A Link to the Past we had the three goddesses. They seemed to have been worshipped as a group since it was their combined effort that created Hyrule and the Triforce. But since Skyward Sword there has been a shift to worshipping Hylia instead. From what I have seen it seems the goddesses left Hylia as their proxy since she is always depicted with wings, like an angel serving her gods. And here's an interesting theory to delve into. Did Hylia become a goddess again when Zelda eventually died after Skyward Sword. There is lots of worship to Hylia now but why would the people offer their prayers to a fallen goddess? And did she leave leave some of her power in the bloodline once she ascended again?
I might have found links dad During a DLC memory (Kings ceremony) at a certain angle, behind the champions are their species. Mipha(Zora) Urbosa(Gerudo) Daruk (Goron) Revaili (Rito) But who's behind Link? It's a royal guard and Zelda said Link's dad is a knight. I mean who else would be behind Link during the ceremony. Just a Theory....
EM11212 the really could’ve placed them in the first BOTW there was more than enough water... giant Octo’s could’ve replaced some of the lizalfo’s bases in the water
Imagine you walk into a massive are and as the floor shakes it get's hotter and hotter and then a massive lava geyser shoots through the center of the cavern and as the fresh magma is falling from the ceiling two piercing green eyes stare out at you and out walks king dodongo
I've got one for you. Talusses are meteorites. It's clear they are more a force of nature then monsters. They started walking about Hyrule after landing. Except one, it's still in one of the craters that can be found somewhere at the West edge of the map. The other craters are empty...
Wow that explains star fragments and why the Sheika would study the stars to see when they get more energy to power there machines like guardians and make cores
One overlooked secret I've never seen or heard anyone else talk about is that the master cycle dungeon is modeled after an old BMW flat four motorcycle engine.
@@HyruleGamer I can't claim that the team at Nintendo intended to do this. The only proof I can claim is comparing the map with photos and diagrams of the flat 4. Tne one central feature of the dungeon is a large driveshaft and the siderooms are like the cylinders. Each puzzle also seems like a key component for engine function. Air intake, oil/coolant, electrical and ignition.
@[Boogaloo Sh!tposting Intensifies] I remember I was really getting into motorcycle mechanics at the time I played through it. I may have spoiled that bit, but you'll still get to see for yourself how they put it all together.
1. "The treasure sleeps in the center of the golden triangle..." 2. The "Golden Triangle" is three triangle shaped "islets". 3. You must get there by boat... This may be a reference the Triforce itself. Another possibility is that it is a reference to awakening the Tower of the Gods in The Wind Waker.
FUN FACT: In parts of the game files, those three smaller temples on the great plateau have names: Bravery, Strength, and Wisdom (Bravery and Strength are likely just slight mis-translations of Courage and Power). Just a cool little detail (:
@Benjamin Timberlake That's awesome! I'd love to try and track that down, any more resources into the games files is always welcome. How did you come across this information?
The remains of dragons and other creatures are exciting to me because if or when we travel back in time in BOTW 2 we get to see these creatures living and breathing. I’m fairly certain we will, because a lot of things in the trailer make sense, like how there are no shrines present in the wide shot of the landscape of hyrule, and the creature zelda and link are riding on underground in the trailer has a dinosaur like tail, which doesn’t match any of the creatures in BOTW, also if Nintendo is returning to the same hyrule, traveling back in time would give us a cool different style of this hyrule with different landmarks, enemies, climates, and more!
The lack of shrines means going back thousands of years, correct? Because I believe that the shrines only existed then and on. I don’t think there is any way we could see those creatures in all their glory as their bones are fossilised. I would love to see those beasts but, linking everything together, I don’t think we will.
He can't stop reincarnating. The curse put on him and Zelda by Demise in SS. This means that unless one of their descendants gets ahold of the triforce and breaks the the curse, their stuck in this infinite loop.
Well the reason why Ganondorf hasn't been reincarnated was because. 1. I doubt he can reincarnate if Ganon itself is basically still alive. 2. Just like in Wind Waker and Twilight Princess he can't reincarnate in Botw because he's more or less sealed away and not really dead.
Thought about this at 5:48. In memory Daruk's Mettle (The one gotten during the quest to free Divine Beast Vah Rudania) there is a mini earthquake around death mountain. Daruk stops a bolder flying towards him and Link and says, "All right, so what was I saying...That was a little strange...As far as I know, Death Mountain has been quiet fro decades. But if the mountain is shivering enough to send down a bunch of bolders that size, then-- Never mind, forget I said anything." After this memory, it is not brought up again throughout the rest of the game. The only other time we see bolders hurled from Death Mountain is when the Divine Beast was hurling them during Link's climb to reclaim the Divine Beast and free Daruk. As they were on the Divine Beast in the memory (Ruling out the fact that it could have been it causing the tremor) and Daruk seems to have prior knowledge of what it might mean, I was curious if this could have been signs of Dodongo or Darunia as seen in past games? Maybe a set up for the boss of Death Mountain in Botw 2? Idk, seems weird that it's brought up and the game doesn't seem to go into any further detail on the subject
@@oceanman6374 I'm not sure exactly, I'll have to go on my copy of the game and look, but from the video, my guess would be be near some lava on the Southern side at the base of Death Mountain
@@yeetman1344 It resembles a dodongo skeleton, but is it actually king dodongo himself? For all we know that leviathan may be a great ancestor to the dodongos but not actually a dodongo as we know them. Besides, the tracks are too small for that "leviathan" to be the one who left them. But if it is, I still think it may be a boss to fight. It wouldn't have been the first time Ganon has revived skeletons to fight for him, as basic enemies or bosses.
@@sirsam7943 the skeleton is different for a reason matching every description of a king dodongo even when accounting the new scale of monsters breath of the wild brings. It may not be one for definite but but there are very few other alternatives the only one I can think of is a helmasaur king
Knowing the Temple of Time and part of the Great Plateau used to be OOT's town, the 3 temples referencing the spiritual stones certainly takes some interesting implications. Link had to go on a journey to gather all 3 stones to gain access to the temple's inner chamber. --- In a similar manner, maybe gaining access to the temple of time, required that the person go on a pilgrimage to 3 sacred locations related to the stone's element, and bring back an item from the locations: Death Mountain, Zora's Domain (maybe Lake Hylia too?) and probably the Rito Village, or Gerudo Town. Kokiri Forest doesn't exist, and no ordinary person can enter the Lost Woods, so for the nature/wind element, both Rito Village and Gerudo Town would make sense. --- I imagine the pilgrimage would have been far less tedious since there were no monsters or calamity around, so traveling was more of an excursion of understanding resources and the environment to survive, rather than a survival challenge of not die against unexpected monster ambushes; and it would focus on understanding the species and their cultures, so when entering the temple of time, the person would be enlightened as to how Hylia has blessed Hyrule with so much wisdom and knowledge. --- Once the items were brought to the 3 temples, they'd gain access to the temple of time, likely even becoming one of the caretakers if the Royal Family authorized it. --- Though with the Plateau destroyed, such traditions are dead, and likely won't return.
I once was walking near the inn at Hateno and spoke to the girl who is on a horse and wants to go to the spring, she told me that the dye shop has a saying; “Today is a good day to dye!” For non-trekkies, this is what the Klingons say in Star Trek. Neat little detail.
The second "Secret"could be a reference to the "tetra-force theory". Center of triangle=treasure, four treasure chest=four pieces of triforce. Also, saying the treasure, "sleeps" in the center of the triangle means it is dormant, maybe hidden.
I really hope they bring back Dodongos for botw 2! They could be a more unique mini boss for death mountain compared to the igneo talus, kinda like how Molduga is specifically for the Gerudo Desert.
9:32 Naw, dude, that's Shrek 2. One of the coolest little tidbits I know is in one of the smaller Plaeau temple ruins. Thinking about OG Temple of Time (in the order the games were made, unless I missed something), I was confused about there being no Master Sword inside the ToT in BotW. I DID, however, find a miniature OoT ToT version in a temple ruin down the hill. From what I can recall, it's pretty spot on, complete with the little stairs and the Master Sword pedestal. It was way cool.
@@thomazplays9305 Been 3 years and I don't recall if I found the same spot in TotK yet but I don't have footage, sorry. Don't have capture equipment for TV/console, sorry. If I remember correctly, it should be either off from the fountain/plaza or straight ahead of the real ToT ruins if you jump off the hill.
Maybe in BoTW2 we'll learn more about BoTWs1 past, knowing how their world was formed or something or maybe their world was formed Again and again by all those past Ganons
for the last secret: crown and white horse, a prince, HIS castle maybe about an old king like rhoam was (he is also seen in a blue costume in the cutscene where he explains everything to link) he also found the (possible) calamity in his castle, which would be hyrule castle, so maybe it is a story about the king of hyrule.
The blue is supposed to represent the royal family, and that's why it's presented as garments made by Zelda to each of the Champions (see the Champions Ballad DLC). So yeah, I think that's also a good theory.
@@magicfireflame I know the reason behind the champions wearing blue, but the story was about a king in particular, so i thought maybe Rhoam was the character depicted (or maybe one of his ancestors)
The prince in blue could also be a reference to the one time Zelda had a brother. In the manual for Zelda two the adventure of link. It explains how the princess was cursed by her brother who was being controlled by an evil mage. The king of that time was so upset by this he declared it law that any daughter of the royal family would be named Zelda to honor the fallen princess.
I think what I really love about Zelda games in general are just the small details. Things like this may not seem highly significant, but they are able to add onto the lore as well as make the game feel alive. Props to the team for creating all the minute details
And then, there're just plain SS-pictures tagged on walls in OoT 3D. Srsly, they're just super-boring and not worthy of both games (and this is comming from me, a OoT-Disliker)
I actually found this out already when researching the Temple of Time in Breath of the Wild, so, Instead of spoiling the secret of whats actually in front of the temple, let me just show you this. Put a red pin where Din's symbol is. Place a Blue pin where Nayru's symbol is, and then finally, place a green pin on Farores Symbol. Then completely flip the map upside down, and tell me exactly what you see.
I think that the golden triangle side quest is also a reference to the Wind Waker game where are you find Triforce pieces by looking for treasure chests in the water.
HaHA! You’ve proved me right! I always knew the footprints were from Dodongos! But everyone else told me it was from Vah Rudania! I WAS RIGHT ABOUT THE THROWAWAY REFERENCE TO A FICTIONAL LIZARD FOOTPRINT! MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAGAHAHA
dodongos don't have a back toe like the foot prints do. Granted it's not rudanias either its feet have squared points while the footprints are pointed. Probably just a detail, but who knows.
"The wildlife is similar to that of real life, well, minus the giant wild Hinox, terrifying Lionels, bone crushing Talus, and of course the Bokoblins and co." Me: but Molduga....
I explored the bejesus out of hyrule( to the point there was little of the background color on the map due to the heros path) but the last thing I discovered before I put the game down was a hot spring outside of Hateno. Still one of my favorite places
I want to keep exploring the ruins right around Hyrule Castle, but those guardians are relentless, and I swear the Blood Moon decides to stalk me every time I start to look around. I'm curious about the ruins of the Chapel/Church in the small village outside the castle, and why it's marked on the map despite being just a ruined foundation with (seemingly) nothing spectacular around it.
It's eather that or where Daruk's bad driving took place. Since there's only 2 prints iv marked them and have looked for others. Only those i. Have found.
Took a closer look at the surrounding areas and I can confidently say that the prints are Vah Rudania's from Daruk's memory scene. If you stand near the print closest to the tower and look towards the peaks going up to the volcano, those peaks are the same peaks that the rocks fell off of that Daruk protected Link from.
Dodongos coming back in future game isn't too much of a stretch. We only encountered them inside a big cavern. And pretty deep in it. We haven't visited underground that much in BotW, in the trailer of the Sequel we see we are under the ground, so maybe they will reintroduced old enemies like Dodongos, and if we really go deep enough maybe we'll met some Mogma again hahaha
Okay lets step a bit further. When i remember right, thpse three temples of the godesses are placed in a triangle. And something that makes me curios now knowing that they are no civilian houses, why is in one of them a chest with the hylian trousers, but no chest in the other two? And yes the tutorial of botw is great, but the area it plays in has something beautiful too especially when you look from the tower at the ruins
I really hope we get to explore pre-calamity hyrule architecture in BOTW2, of course we don't know if the castle is in the trailer is pre-calamity, or post-malice-ganon destruction with the towers and shrines lowered back into the ground. but I'm hopeful either way! I truly truly love the architecture and these videos expounding on their design and meaning. One question does ANYONE know just wtf those Hyrulian buildings everywhere are supposed to be that have the square footprint, stairs running up to them, two walls with windows, and nothing else? are they just that alone or more that's missing (besides a roof), they are SO STRANGE to me, since they have such ornamental concrete work, adorned staircases, but only a tiny little platform for such a HUGE foundation. i wonder if it's just to avoid flooding - or maybe those are just teh first floors of multi-story houses?
That last one's a bit of a stretch, in my opinion. He's wearing a crown, so it's more than likely a children's fairy tale like the ones we have in real life, where a prince rescues a princess. Plus, he doesn't have Link's trademark bangs!
I've spent a lot of time on the Great Plateau, but I've never noticed the symbols of the three goddesses before! That's cool. I thought the only reference to them was in the names of the three dragons. Now I'm wondering if there is a deeper connection between the goddesses and the dragons.
I always wanted to explore a pre-destruction world map in-game. A second version of that idea would be exploring a 'Repaired' in-game world, such as for example, The Great Plateau repaired and thriving as a sort of new Castle Town and farmland, or the actual in-game ruins of Castle Town repaired and thriving. I guess it's just a form of reward just to see the world you saved show visual progression at rebuilding in a now safer land. Another imaginative wish is exploring the lands past the chasms that act as the world border, because unlike the stretch of ocean or desert you can visually see that up above the intense wall of earth on the other side of the chasms, there is a large expanse of grassy flatlands, which makes you wonder, has the land of hyrule itself always been this low to the ocean, and has it always been this disconnect from the inland? Because it honestly looks as if at some point in the past the land of Hyrule suffered from a massive landbreak from the rest of the land, because it is too much of a hight and length difference to suggest that these two lands are naturally like that. It makes you wonder, how did this happen, and if the breakoff theory is to be believed, how or what caused the breakoff from the inland? Was it natural? Was in international? Perhaps it was from a prior 'wish' from the Triforce, akin to the WindWaker timeline, or here's a fun one! It was the Dodongos that weakened the 'border' and eventually caused the collapse! With the sheer size that they can grow, if they had grown a large population and created a line of caverns, it could have eventually collapsed and cause the land of Hyrule to slip off, or vise versa,... Actually lets explore more into this. Imagine that over time Dodongos lived alongside a fault-line, and with how large Dodongos can grow and live for, their caverns alongside a fault-line would grow deeper and longer with it, and eventually weaken the fault-line causing the plates to slip, one going up, one going down, so as Hyrule sunk, the other side of land rose, leading to the massive hight difference we see currently ingame. Could also explain the extinction of Hyrulian Dodongos, if they weren't killed off by the event, the surviving Dodongos would have either have too little remaining members to repopulate, or were hunted by the races of Hyrule at that time to prevent a future repeat.
Say it.... Zonai, Zonai, Zonai, Zonai...... I don't care how much its covered. I still would like to know more about the Zonai cuz there's so little we dont know about them. Make many more ZONAI videos... Idk ill watch all of them
I actually got another "secret" I have seen it when I wanted to travel around the map and saw in Akkala there's a sea (in the middle of the akkala map under Tarrey Town) but if you look closely you can see there are houses and some things. I think you can see it more when you pull up your magnetic tool. *I'm just shocked because If you think about it how it would have looked like before Calamity Ganon.*
I think the book is just telling a prince tale. If i recall, blue was the color of zelda's family, so maybe just a story about an old ancestor in the royal bloodline when he was young
You know who I think that "Prince" is at the end? I think that's the king of Hyrule actually. Cause Link isn't of royal blood right? And didn't the King wear blue as well??
Link: *Rides toward the castle* Calamity Ganon: *Appears and starts terrorizing everyone and giving Link's horse PTSD* Link: How strange. I didn't know pigs could get that big. *PROCEEDS TO CASUALLY BEAT GANON TO A PULP AND SEAL HIM UNDERGROUND* Link: *Continues on his merry way to the castle dragging his traumatized horse behind him*
The three godesses were first mentioned in "A Link to the Past", although not by name. They are the ones that created the triforce, each forging one of its three aspects. I don't quite understand why the people of Hyrule would've turned away from the three old godesses to worship Hylia. Maybe it is because the creation of the triforce caused the contionous battle between Link and Ganon, destroying the land over and over. Also, Nayru was the godess of water, din was the godess of fire and Faroe was the godess of thunder. Maybe Hylia is the godess of light that promises to relieve the people of Ganon once and for all.
What if the Leviathan in Eldin was just a dead King Dodonogo O_o (But hey, that's just a theory. A CRACK POT THEORY. Thanks for letting me waste your time.)
I never finished Zelda Twilight Princess because of the tutorial segment. I only finished the first forest dungeon with the monkeys 🐒 and then I called it quits. I watched a let’s play instead...
Best part of this while video is how you timed that footage of Skyward $hit being wiped off the screen just as you said ‘thrown out the window’. Only better phrase could have been ‘flushed down the toilet’. Because that game was f****** *hit
My theory about the entrance to the plateau is that during the battle against calamity ganons forces the soldiers there found themselves surrounded and in and attempt to slow them down they destroyed both And were holding their own until ganon sent the gaurdians i believe that the soldiers were overwhelmed and fell back to hylias temple both hopeing the goddess would intervene and save them and hyrule but also to make their last stand which explains the destroyed guardians around the temple those were the few that the soldiers managed to kill before being completely overrun
9:43 Anyone else notice the Wind Waker reference in the page? The horse is drawn nearly identically to the Hero of Time in the Wind Waker prologue, and pose of the hero is also very similar.
i would argue the great plateau wasnt even a plateau when the temple of time was relevent in botw. i think the entire landscape we see in the great plateau is what has buillt up over time. the staircase would just be an uphill staircase into the town and uptown. keep in mind what we consider ground level is alreasy at minimum 100 years after any relevence being possible, and i believe the great plateau to be even older, and having been abandoned far longer, with castletown and everything being closer to the castle. keep in mind the stone in and near hyrle castle is far nicer and more in tact than the great plateaus stone, and it was right where calamity began, aka the epicenter of the storm. i think the temple of time and the great plateau was the original ocarina of time hyrule
