In addition to a skip dialogue button, I would also like a dialogue summary feature like Star Rail has. Genshin's dialogue scenes are very slow sometimes, and one thing i like to do in Star Rail (especially in smaller, unvoiced quests) is skip through and then read the whole scene at the end. It's also really helpful if I accidentally skip something I didn't mean to.
I think the reason they don't put a skip dialogue button is probably because people will reach from 0 to 16,000 primogems in a blink of an eye rushing unfinished quests
Here’s one: bosses actually dropping the crystals I need for a character. I’ve fought the millennial seahorse so many times to raise neuvillete and Chevy, but the boss doesn’t drip pyro or hydro crystals. So now I have a pyro gem shortage and a surplus of electro ones…
You can buy the salt which changes the colors. Oh? you dont have it. Then make a wish. Oh? you dont have any primos? Here you can buy some ( Does what I am saying even make sens xD ? )
@lukigepard Honestly just having an in game shop that sells the salt or crystals (for mora) would be nice too. Every region has an alchemy bench wouldn't be hard to give them an npc(or use the one that stands next to the table) a little shop with maybe 10 salt and 3 of the smallest version of that regions crystal. Rotating every 3 days like some shops or even every week like the restaurants. That way you're incentivized to still go fight bosses and the wish shop would still be the best place to get the salt
@@lukigepardit does and it doesn't. That makes levelling up straight up a problem of real money A shop in-game for mora would be a better system, or... having the ability to convert gems without the dust
@@MrJemoederopeenstokj well I think anemo , hydro and dendro are pretty good I even started doing “canon” archon quests where I follow a rule that I can only use characters that are involved in the story
Dendro kit ain't bad true, anemo i found very meh. As for the rest i only used MC when i lacked an element. Kit aside i'm no fan of MC characterwise@@VictorIbelles
see the problem with rerunning events is that space will keep stacking up, unless they let you download it optional or reduce how much events they rerun
There is also the possibility that it is all sitting in the game files pointlessly already. It's likely the case for rerun events like Windtrace but I'd be shocked if Golden Apple from 1.6 was sitting in the game files.
Maybe keep well received events around, based on survey feedback, then use limited events as a way to offer expansions to those events, with surveys being used to once again determine their staying power. I say surveys because then there's no bias or vocal minority situation. It doesn't become a case that cn players really hate windtrace, so that doesn't stay, but the dancing combat event from last patch does stay because cn players liked it. It also removed the requirement of being part of the community, as not everyone is terminally online.
The issue with replayable events aside from file size is hoyo would have to make a whole new system to add them too and probably afew other things like when to reccomend one does them or other requirements, ect @@Ratheil Starrail added all of this in 1.1 when they didnt have to deal with readding events from over 3 yrs.
@@kingalex105x7 How is this an issue for a Billion Dollar Company. They have the resources, they just won’t because people like you pretend it is impossible from them. LMAO. They should figure it out because they should figure it out.
If they were to add a Skip Button, a type that I personally like that games like Arknights and Blue Archive use is a Skip Button that gives you a summary of what happens in the cutscene, so even if you skip it you have an idea of what is happening in the story.
Yes, Aether Gazer does that too, very helpful. Edit to add: AG also has a toggle for the 'full' or 'simplified' description of skills/gear. Genshin would benefit from this greatly, with their essay-style descriptions lately.
Arknights's system could be improved though, with the addition of an option to view a transcript of all the dialogue. Just something I can quickly read, but all there. But I do definitely prefer having the option to just get a summary, for when I do just want to skip it all.
Kinda disagree on the third one. The devs already have done a lot for each character to have a distinct playstyle. They made the combat system multifaceted so that characters can utilize each aspect for each uniqueness. If skill trees be added it'll be a matter of time for characters to be watered down versions of what they could've be and also be homogenous to each other
I think his idea is more in line to Borderlands. The characters are very different, but they can have different play styles. But I think that would be more easily integrated with actually interesting artifacts or weapon effects (not only more damage, more like TF set and the bubble one, but more)
How about resetting an artifact gives you the original stats but it starts with the 4th stat it already had even if it started with 3 before. If it already had 4, you just get the 1st (from the top) rolled stat to be a max roll, then the 2nd rolled stat on the next reset or if the first one was already max, and so on.
@@sweetieswifey627 There's no reason to have a limit on that. The artifact grinding is already too painful and annoying as it is, adding such a simple change wouldn't change as much as you think.
To be honest this and (shocker I know) the ability to choose a main start for artifacts when strongboxing would be the 2 things that’d make me come back to Genshin
The version I like is an item that resets it back to the last upgrade point. Like you don't like you're level 16 roll so you can reset it back to 12 and have to spend the junk artifacts exp and mora again. Honestly I would take just resetting an artifact though, you get so much junk to relevel it and the teapot has artifact exp bottles too. I know that mora can be an issue for people though so it might be a pain in that regard.
Enabling an option to autoselect the useless traveler dialogue options would almost be as good as a skip button. At least with that I could just put it on my second monitor and let the dialogue play like an actual cutscene and enjoy the dialogue.
My boyfriend will turn on auto-advance and go to the bathroom or something, and without fail, the second he leaves the room, his dialogue stops because the Traveler is forced to select between "Hmm" and "..."
i agree with most of these, the skill tree is the only one i don't particularly like, i'm for customization but i've never liked skill trees that permanently lock you out of different builds. Also, i really like the your idea of 6-star artifacts, i remember you mentioning something like that in a previous video, and it really is genius, out of all of them that's what i would want the most.
@@welkin7321 yeah, that kind of thing is fine, but a lot of the time you do have to pay some sort of currency. at least online games are usually like that.
The 6 star artifact thing is actually a terrible idea. It adds another layer of RNG onto the artifact system, a system that already has too much of it. Then there will be the pain of getting one of those artifacts with all the flat stats or rolling into the worst stats possible on leveling. And then there's the simple fact that this will kill our flex artifact spot. It will now need to be a specific set. So it makes the existing RNG issue even worse. Cool in concept, but without a reworking on Genshin's artifact system, bad in practice.
to add in old events for new players, it could be as easy as making them part of optional download packs so players who already played them can save on space. i want a dialogue skip option so bad. at the least for repetitive commissions, please. in the same vein, a dialogue recall/history button in case you feel like you missed something, like in persona. ALSO also, a progression bar in the quest screen so you can gauge how far into something you are and can better pace yourself. it's happened several times that im like an hour into a quest and it's getting late, but im like "im sure it'll end soon, i'll just wrap it up" and then it goes on and on and on. i keep thinking about this one endgame idea i have and i think it would be sooo good and not that hard to implement. obviously, copy/paste labyrinth warriors to start off. a randomized roguelike goes so well with this game's emphasis on character building. there could be daily challenges that accumulate throughout the week, that is to say, there's several new challenges every day but they only expire by the week's end. they could be challenges like "use this combo of elements," "cause X amount of Y reactions," "use X amount of elemental bursts" etc. by completing challenges, you're rewarded with exclusive currency. like the teapot, there's a shop to exchange said currency for relevant goods. the teapot has furniture, but this game mode would let you buy some common weapon/talent mats, transient resin, artifact juice, mob loot, mora, exp etc.. and again like teapot, you can not buy everything in the shop every week. they could also do something fun like put a random character on spotlight, letting you use a trial version of them for a couple of rounds. they could put current on-banner 4-stars and maybe even 5-stars so that people can see how they slot into their roster. also ADD THE ACTUAL ARTIFACT LOADOUT SYSTEM WE'VE BEEN ASKING FOR PLEASE
Honestly I just want them to fix some of the systems they have in the game. Like the enemy locator one, it only gives you a handful of enemies in the world of that type and once you finish going through those it just tells you it's waiting for them to respawn. If you're really desperate you can check the interactive map but having to tab out of the game for something that's already partially included is annoying af I do like the idea of the story recap option since it's so easy to drop this game out of frustration for the grind, plus the welcome back rewards are kinda better than some of the event rewards ngl.
Definitely would not want a tree where I wouldn't be able to get the whole skill tree. It's absolutely maddening and frustrating to me in many games where I can't just level up everything as much as I want
While I agree that smaller events that take place in isolated domains and areas could be replayable without too many problems (aside from storage space), I don't imagine it would be possible for large events like Summer Events, Festivals and Lantern Rites to be left permanently in the game because: - They would use an ABSURD amount of space, especially the summer ones that have entire exclusive maps. - They drastically change the game map and have many moving parts that cannot just be placed or removed with one click. - Most of these events are annual events that get new versions every year, so the list would get saturated quickly. Conclusion: HSR has the advantage of being a game with a much smaller scope, with its events reusing existing areas with minimal changes or just being battle arenas with some cutscenes between fights, so I don't think it's fair to use it as a base in this regard due to difference in scope and scale between the games
True. It's what I love about HSR, the 'Less is more" approach. Because of the limitations that they set up for the areas, they end up using the spaces in optimal ways. Like the boxing event is part of a box club that is small in size but we can revisit quite often for the main quest, the event, companion quests, and sidequests. It reuses its own areas in many effective ways.
FINALY SOMEONE SAID IT I once played on a private genshin server to test some stuff and it had so many event markers i could not use the map properly lol (you could not interact with them, but they were here) People miss the point that genshin never intended to repay events, but hsr has it from the start Adding it now will be such a headache
But aren't all the event files are already here? That's why genshin is so huge, all the events are still in the files. They could've at least delete all the events fully to free up space, but a lot of people can't play already because of the huge amount of space it takes
The reason why you can't replay limited time event is because of Co-op. When you enter into another's player world, your game needs to match the other player world by looking up the necessary files. This force you to have all the files available from past event if ever want to do Co-op. This will fill up your device storage very quickly.
The list could just lookup files and exclude the players with mismatches. And if said player with a mismatch happens to be a friends, you can coordinate yourself to download/erase the event DLCs needed. [Edit :] Or you could just play the common things you guys have (say a random domain or kill a boss) while they happen to have more because they downloaded more.
But aren't all the event files are already here? That's why genshin is so huge, all the events are still in the files. Also, maybe, they can add a pop up that tells that this player is doing a big event and you can't visit them until they're done. Like you can't visit players while they do certain quests.
Could you imagine playing something like Metal Gear Solid 4 and it didn't have a skip button? It holds the Guinness World Record for longest cutscene in a video game. (71 minutes)
@@sweetieswifey627dude stop trying not everyone wants to or has the time to watch an unskippable cutscene everytime they play a game, if you don't like the idea of skip buttons it's okay, you don't have to use it
@@sweetieswifey627 if we're talking about genshin, it is almost everytime. some people just want to unlock a new game mechanic or get the quest rewards without having to sit through unskippable and unvoiced dialogue
I love your idea of a 6 star ultra rare artifact. Being able to enable a secondary set bonus on your off piece is a super cool idea. It would make whatever your off piece on your character is matter which I think is a cool way to add variety to character builds. Even if it just adds an additional layer of farming I think it would be worth it.
For event retention, it's definitely a technical issue. Star Rail is composed entirely of instanced areas and Genshin's events mostly take place in the open world, which just adds to the "quest conflict" problem that already exists, even if you only optionally download one event at a time. Thus, they have more work to do to make it happen. That's not me arguing they SHOULDN'T do it, but Star Rail had several advantages with its development cycle, chiefest being that they could more readily apply the lessons they learned from developing Genshin. Story skip is always interesting to me, because while it isn't for ME to decide how you should enjoy the game, it IS for the devs to decide how they want to allow and restrict your play. There are gameplay aspects of games that I wish that I could skip, but that goes against the game's design philosophies, so the devs don't let me skip it. I feel like there is a double standard applied to story content, as if it is somehow objectively less important than the tactile combat system in terms of importance to a game, and I couldn't disagree more. A developer can choose to place emphasis on any aspect of a game as they desire. One thing worth noting, I think, is how systems are designed to service their game. Genshin's combat is a system created to support the package that is Genshin. Those wanting more endgame content or higher difficulty enjoy the combat system and wish the game utilized it more, which is an understandable desire. However, I would argue that the simultaneous truth of this is that Genshin's combat adequately serves the package. In other words, the combat does what it NEEDS to. If one had the choice between A. A game full of systems that are perhaps underutilized, but that make the package itself great and all serve the game well or B. A game full of systems that are either poor on their own, poorly serve the overall package, or both...I personally think the former is the better scenario.
I just want a button that could cancel the quest, like if you talked to npc and accidentally start a quest or character story quests, I want to be able to opt out and come back when I am ready. So the list of quests are smaller and less daunting
real, over a year ago i remember accidentally starting the sumeru interlude quest, it was very late and i needed to log off fast but i was forced to rush through a quest that i wasnt ready to do yet😭
It would make me possibly revive my old alt account or possibly even try a challenge account out. But going through THAT much mandatory story? Helllll no
@@sweetieswifey627 because 95% of the enjoyment of the game is actually moving around and doing shit, not watching characters sit around idly doing the same robotic and soulless animations and talk about jack diddly before we're sent off somewhere else. can we please stop acting like the way genshin tells it's story is absolutely masterful and engaging? the actual story is good, but the way they tell it (sometimes) is awful and i want to skip it. just my opinion.
100%. i almost always skipped through Genshin quests and simply watched someone like Jeikage play through the story and enjoy it that way. i find it so much more enjoyable to watch edited videos and theory videos rather than suffering genshin's pacing and lengthy explainations. same reason i skip Arknights story.
They put a lot of love into the story and I think they want people to experience it but c'mon. Everyone should know forcing someone to do something they don't wanna do more often than not just makes them double down on disliking it.
@@Ratheil that is going a bit far, we all chose to play this game Were we all supposed to expect the game to have no story at all or something?? I could never imagine skipping a cutscene in like a Halo game for example, yeah it's damn near all action all the time but other then shooting aliens the sole reason we all (all of us that have played and enjoyed them) love those games is because of the story of it all
many indie rpgs and visual novels despite not having any(or just barley) interesting gameplay as their main selling points are story and aesthetic not mention their usually short time still allow you to skip dialogue (and sometimes cutscenes) ,a game like genshin not having a skip button is not only insane, but the people trying to defend it by saying "it's a story heavy game tho!!" clearly don't play that many story heavy games lmao
CO-OP SPIRAL ABYSS. I've been saying this for years. Co-op is a whole different meta... and it'd be really cool if there was a separate Abyss that requires 1-3 co-op partners to participate in.
"I'll read about it on wikis and stuff" Why in the world do you want a skip button then if you already read a lot of it outside of the game? I'd much rather read the stuff on my screen while actually seeing the characters gesture and stuff, instead of read it off a wiki page This isn't meant to be malicious in any way, I just genuinely can't wrap my head around it, especially the somewhat odd comparison to the Telltale games. Genshin may not be 90% story sure, but it's pretty close, it's majority story with the gameplay added in, I do understand loving the gameplay because hell I do too, but the story is just so very important A skip button would be helpful yes of course, as annotated in the video for alt accounts and things like that but otherwise, something like quitting the game over a button is a bit odd in premise really
Wikis are often TLDR plot summaries. You miss nuance but you usually get the overall story beats. I did this a lot with Game of Thrones and often had an equal understanding to my bookreading friends about the differences between the show and books. I ultimately prefer RU-vid, that way I can play the game, or another game, while I absorb the story in the way I want to. I like stories but when I play a game I'm often in the mood to actually play and engage, not sit through an hour of very slowly paced dialogue (genshin has long pauses and absolutely meaningless silent protag prompts) which end up taking any enjoyment out of the experience.
I see your points yes, then if I may. Would you suggest the "fun" action parts are arguably more important to you or others? Then as an example, while I haven't played is HSR better in that aspect with it's dialogs and whatnot? Although the trade there being a turn-based game with something like autoplay All in all, it seems it does in fact boil down to a simple difference in character so I do respect your opinions While I personally read nearly everything and take in the story as I play, I can somewhat understand not wanting to sit through the slower paced stuff (tbh if world quests were voiced I think less people would want a skip button overall lol) But good video as always
It's crazy even mentioning a skip button gets you attacked, as if adding it affects someone who wouldn't use it in any way. The gatekeeping on this game is insane.
True man. I'm thinking they're insecure about the story cause of how shitty the execution is. Why else would anyone care if someone skips the story or not?
The glaring issue with a skip button is purely how quickly you'd be able to get primos from quests only taking 20~ minutes at most and getting the same rewards from it, it'd make saving/grinding for characters alot easier and alot less time consuming, therefor making it less necessary to swipe, while also making the recourses they put into writing world quests and story alot less value, and removing the ability to say "just do world quests" on dead patches when people complain about content droughts... Yes it'd be an amazing change that alot of people would love (including myself), but it'd mean that the balancing of obtaining currency would be thrown off and Hoyo wouldn't be as justified in putting as much into improving writing, voice acting and animation. Something like being able to skip if you've already done that quest on one region, being able to skip on another, would be a good change, but would probably still lose hoyo money due to people often swiping on multiple accounts anyway.
Personally I would love something like simulated universe, where you could collect specific buffs to make your team really strong. It's great it many ways: its allows you to use characters that don't have the best build yet (nice for ppl who haven't reached endgame), you can do great dps showcases by largely buffing already built characters (for endgame players) and it allows you to do teams you couldn't before like run a team without a healer/shielder (because of healing/shielding buffs) which enables new team comps and synergys. It's also nice because it takes a bit longer than abyss and doesn't have a timer. They could do 5star weapons in the shop like star rail, which would be great for f2p and gives you something to work towards as genshin wouldn't have relics in its simulated universe aquivalent.
1. I agree with this, and they could make it to where you download resources as you need them. 2. Not against this, but every time I see someone asking for it that says "No one cares about this $#!T story," I want it delayed by another patch. Sometimes that feeling is counteracted by the people who say "No one wants a skip button," make me want to see it next patch. 3. Nah. While there are some characters this could help, I would rather the devs come up with new characters than spend weeks or months developing new kits for current characters. 4. I would love to have a Eula who's artifact bonuses are +15% Phys, +15% Phys, + 20% ER, +18% ATK. 5. Meh. I wouldn't mind a higher WL if it meant elites always dropped purples and Weekly bosses always dropped billets. But I wouldn't want extra endgame just to do endgame. MAybe if they used the new endgame activity to collect things for better artifact rerolls, then we would be talking. Personally, I would like to see something similar to Planar Spheres . Some artifacts (Thundering Fury on Keqing or Yelan) open up different, or smoother play experiences. I think a new passive ability added by these can partially fulfill what you want out of 3 without making a massive increase in dev time.
Yeah... Even without skip button, there will be people asking about why that happened when it is already shown in the cutscene and story. This is not even from voicelines or some book lores. People will always reply why you asking it when you ignore the story? So yeah, just no skip button to punish them.
You really think people actually pay attention instead of scrolling tiktok? People who want to watch the story will do and those who don't want to will not. Your fault for skipping. It's that simple
i'm pretty sure i say this everytime when i see a video like this. but please change/work on the drop rate of older enemies/boss mats/domains. - i shouldn't be hoping for a purple mat in domains. it's the highest level it should guarantee at least 3 every run. - the amount of boss mats need to scale with AR. at AR 15-20 most of the time, my friend is able to get 2 boss drops. why at AR 55+ am i still only getting 2 most of the time? scale it up to 4-5. - also older enemies like the samurai in Inazuma. i tend to have to fight 8 of them before they drop something. and it's only a 1-2 level drop. -artifacts: please increase the drop rate as AR goes up. highest domain, minimum of 4 artifacts each run -increase rewards for events. gettting up to 10 talent mats/30 exp books, 15 ores for example will do nothing. esp for older players -let us craft more than 30 (50?) ores a day at the blacksmith!!
Love the video! I think the snobbery towards people who’d like a dialogue skip button is dumb. I feel like too many people who dislike the idea aren’t willing to admit that it would be useful. Like let’s be real, rambling NPCs whose worldbuilding contribution is negligible all make quests tedious. I shouldn’t have to listen to another random “researcher” give me their life story just to begin a basic combat challenge event. They almost always write in moments where they say “oh dear, I didn’t mean to ramble…” too, as if they’re acknowledging how verbose the dialogue is but they just don’t care! Additionally, people’s main gripe with the lack of a skip button is that Genshin has lengthy dialogue exchanges, with paragraphs upon paragraphs of text, all unvoiced. If it wasn’t deemed important enough to be voice acted, why should I be forced to read it all?
The world level suggestion was such a good one. Me and a friend agreed that it'd be such a fun idea for exploring and puzzles. If enemies you're fighting have enough hp to take a full rotation or some burst, it could be fun. It would all be optional to each specific players standards so it doesn't ruin anyone's enjoyment of the game.
3:34 You'd be surprised by the amount of people who thinks they won't enjoy a game's story but actually end up enjoying it. By not allowing people to skip, you avoid them losing details in the boring parts to enjoy the good parts. The lore of the world and the story of the characters is so much of what this game is good for, that even if someone believes that "that's not their way of enjoying the game" forcing it down their throats sometimes is the way to make them discover how wrong thay were, and I know that because that was my case. ZZZ has a skip button because you play that game to fight and the story is genuinely secondary, in this game, everything you fight and fight with has its own explanation, and I'm with HoYo on the idea that without knowing what stuff is and how it works in a new world that is substantially differently from the ones you're used to is a major factor in if you're going to stick to the game or not. Also, I believe the developer has complete rights not to care about your preferences when they are of the "I'd rather consume fan-made content to understand the game rather than the official material" sort. I'm not against a skip button (as you said, I'd just never use it), but I genuinely believe in this case the developers have a right to think the players don't know what's best for them (or maybe it just makes them a lot of money).
The only reason I'm thinking about quitting is because of how long and drawn out the quests are. Having to wait a full second before skipping is torture. No other game has me spamming mouse 1 and spacebar like Genshin does.
I agree with the skip button for dialogue, but adding to that, they need to improve how the story is delivered. The thing I hate the most of Genshin is they prefer to tell rather than show... The massive walls of text they have are super tedious and make me just skip everything. This Lanter Rite is a good example. Most, if not all, of the quest is just you listening to other either Gaming, Xianyun, etc. You finish one dialogue scene, walk five seconds and another two to five minutes long dialogue appears... It makes me stop playing or do something else. My time is limited Genshin, please respect it. Sometimes you indeed that kind of info dump, but those should be saved for the climax of the quest, not every time you have to speak to an NPC... Also, I hate the "fade to black and having text explaining what happened". For the most part the Archon quests are bearable, but this is becuase it is the main story, they have a way to engage you. Optional quests and Story quest vary quite a lot, I've skipped on some of these because it became unbearable to read and read while all I wanted to do was to explore somewhere or fight something, moving the plot forward instead of being stuck with a NPC trying to be funny and repeting either useless information or information I alrrady know.
I quit after collecting many C6's and C1/2 Childe and Venti and other characters, I had every five star release. After coming back, I started a new game. It has been over 2 years. I am amazed how much stuff is still the same or worse: 1. The glider is still way too slow, i'd trade 50% extra stam use for a 50% speed boost any day of the week. 2. The Battle Pass has not changed at all? Its still terrible. 3. Resin cap still just 160?? Why, lol. That's so bad. It should be double that by now. It was a bad mechanic that existed at launch to prevent people getting too high adventure rank and still exists even with people capped AR anyway for no reason. 4. The standard banner now features 4 star characters you can unlock that require materials from area's you don't have access too in order to ascend them. I got Sayu and realised I can't level her above 20 because of her impossible for now requirements. 5. The Standard banner is too diluted, it was bad at launch and somehow much worse now. It should have been split when new characters added up into 2 seperate standard banners that use the same wish, one with Liyue/Mond characters and the rest on the other. So new players can focus on characters they can actually level. OR Allow a focus option that increases the chances of what you would want, anything really. 6. There is still only one weapon banner going at a time after all this time? The game has SO MANY limited weapons now that's actually insane. How is it ever possible to get the weapon you may actually want? You need to wait like 1-2 years for its banner to return then spend everything? It was ok at launch because all the weapons worked on every character as every weapon was pretty universal. Didn't get WolfBlade but for the sky one? Congrats you still ended up with a bis weapon. The weapon banners look so bad now, the fact that only one runs at a time.... 7. There are more five star characters then four star characters who have become too rare. It is now much harder to new players to get four stars then ever before. Some four stars have not been featured on a banner for 7 months. Essentially, now its pull for one copy of a five star and use that. The standard banner is very unreliable and I could see people taking years just to see their first C6 if they don't quit before then. This only effects new players though as old players have been collecting before the pool was this diluted and oversaturated. 8. Its honestly still a lot harder then it should be to save up to do 10 pulls. They appear to really only want people to play during events/updates for new stories as everything else rewards nothing once you are done. I had hoped the rewards would have been increased by now for daily commisions and other things, its been 3 years, why are they the same. 9. I see Artifacts are still just entirely RNG and just a timesink farm to finally get a good one. 10. There is 4 versions of the Lantern Rite Event and the only way to see the previous ones is to watch video's of them? You can't play through them or? I also see they nerfed the tower defence mode we had so hard that the first version I saw people liking it and the latest version of mechanicus everyone Hated it with a passion. Which is disappointing cause I liked that event originally. ect. ect. TLDR. They have made the game worse for new players. So far, my goal is to ignore the gacha system entirely, not give them a cent for the fact that we basically have had no QOL in 3 years get to the end of the story and then delete the game again and wait another 3 years.
Raid Content, drops another artifact set, add +2 artifact slots to characters (basically planars). We get: more end game content, more power, more coop content. Plus since it's basically just tacking on *more* artifact grind (and thus more rng suffering), it's also on-brand for mhy.
I have a little bit of a conspiracy theory that they’re not adding a skip button because of money. People keep saying “I want a skip button because I play on multiple accounts,” which always annoys me to hear because that’s the exact reason they don’t want to. The main reason people make multiple accounts is to get different 5 stars which loses Hoyoverse money. They want to make it as tedious as possible to have multiple accounts, to incentivize whaling on a main account.
2:09 skip button might probably come soon. Wuthering Waves will have it, so once WW is released Genshin might feel the need to implement it too. 6:10 this skill tree might be a good way to make the traveler interesting.
While I don’t hate your ideas, I think you made a lot of them not thinking about the long term struggle that comes with them (The only exceptions being skip button and endgame) I could go on for hours about why exactly these are not in Genshin (especially the 6 star artifacts, your worse take yet) but I’ll spare you that part
I think having all events from 1.0 forward would push the game size closer to 200gb, and with the majority of players on mobile or low performance pcs, they would have to quit The reason why they dont add a skip button is to skew the statistics on player retention and play time... But what they dont see, is that at the same time, being unable to skip is the reason I dropped 2 accounts, no way in hell I would waste my life like that... having skip would inflate the players numbers quite significantly, because they would be able to rotate and ration primo to have all chars, even if in different accounts...
Honestly i love the skill tree idea. Another thing similar to that is like actual roles in the game, like a pure tank character that cant do much damage but basically cant ever die and acts as a sheild for other players and stuff. Also, more chatcher body types would be nice
There is an easy fix to the space issue for past events: just rerun them on a cycle. You only need to have a few extra files downloaded at any given point, and it would let people replay or experience the event for the first time
5:00 …and you lost me on this one 😅 I get the desire to make a character your own but my personal huge joy with this game centers around my ability to switch from using Zhongli in a double Anemo/Geo team as a subDPS -> using him in Hu Tao Geo Bros as a pure shieldbot.
I really hate whenever people bring up the argument that if you don't like the story the whole game just isn't for you, but also I think that genshin does s really shit job in storytelling throughout most of it's quests. Archon quest's aren't everything and a majority of world quests that include important lore are just walls of text with very little gameplay.
@@salceds Both of these are still true. I absolutely disagree that the way they make world quests now is good. Occasionally they can make a story that's interesting and fun to read but it's a very small portion and instead of straight up telling stories about the lore of the game they use some boring narrative using a random npc that has some issues. Also the dialogues. Way too long. Very little comedy if any. Black screens with text saying stuff like "person A got mad and punched person B", instead of actually showing it. Telling us another characters thoughts instead of showing us their reaction to a certain situation which completely makes our own interpretation meaningless. All of these are still present in genshin and all of them make a lot of genshins story suck.
I'm feeling such a burnout that I've being avoiding the Lantern Rite event for a whole week, having more fun doing the stupid chores on my camp in Red Dead 2 than working for the Xingqiu Furina skin I want...but if they added replayable events and allowed me to play everything I missed since Summertime Odyssey in 2.8 I'd feel twice as excited as when I arrived in Liyue and convinced myself the game hadn't a silly story for children.
I strongly disagree with character customization, since the game already giving you freedom to build them however you want. You want Physical Razor? sure, EM Razor? why not, or Electro build? sounds cool, or heck! plunge ATK Razor!? sure! let's try that! There are a lot of way you can customize your own character to your liking, no need for another layer of character progression systems. That'll make the game more overwhelming for new players.
Hmm at first I balked at the idea of a 6* artifact, but the more you explained it the more it made sense. I've been thinking that they need to add a new 1-set like those circlets except actually 5* and with a useful but properly scaled passive effect. I almost like your idea better now. Min maxing a 4-set and a 2-set together could be quite satisfying.
One thing I want added is a jukebox mode for Spiral Abyss so that I can play different songs. I’ve heard the default song enough times already from having to reset against the Wenut… 😓
1. make rhythm game permanent and allow us to customize and publish theres so much music on gehshin and it's just wasted (get rid of TCG). 2. create a different game where we can customize teapot without limits. Items and realms are also based on Genshin. So many creative players just want to build freely on teapot. Add more realms like (chasm, enkanomiya, Chenyu village etc.) 3. A feature where we can customize abyss mobs so we can practice our characters line up, test our dmg and build etc. 4. a mode with endless mobs appearing and endless levels (mobs getting tougher and tougher on higher levels)
I really like the 6 star artifact idea. It'd be a nice off piece that might double the set bonuses of other artifacts on a character or add new bonuses that make them stronger
What if they added aptitude tests for each character. Hear me out: Every even level (20/60/80) you unlock an aptitude test for that character which tests how well you’ve built them. (Plunge x amount of times with Xiao without dying) and at 90 you can solo a mini boss with said character. These can also limit what artifacts you’re allowed to use to something like “lore accurate” as a way to get people to stay playing the game and have a goal.
5 things to change in genshin. 1 reset the world Level rank 2 free weapon on battle pass where you can choose a few 4star weapons of your choice 3. bring back old events like in 2022 and 2021 4.have a skip button for every cutscene. 5. have free 4 or 5 star weapon along with their characters.
For #3, we have both team comps and artifact sets, as limited as those might be. Personally, though I don't want skill trees. Hoyoverse isn't good at balancing things. They can do the most basic thing, which is making sure the DPS numbers are about where they want them, but that's about it. They can't even get healers right much of the time. So we'd just wind up with one tree that is better than the others. And beyond that, well, characters overpower the content already. It would also up the investment in each character, which will make people less likely to go after new characters since they are still exploring/maxing out their current ones, so there's another incentive for Hoyoverse not to do it. For #4... GOD NO. There's too much friggin' RNG in artifacts already. We don't need more. And then you get one with flat hp, flat def, flat atk, and the 4th substat you care about the least... which it doesn't roll into further at all. This would also kill the "off-set" spot we currently have. Now you'll need a specific set for one of those three pieces that are the biggest pains to get on-set. So not only will the new piece add more RNG to the mix, it'll further amp up the existing RNG pain.
For the Skill Tree, they could add a third ascension passive that unlocks at character lvl 90 that has a toggle between two effects, it would add a bit of diversity, allow for a revamp of old units and create an incentive to farm something that isn't god damn artifacts. Simple stuff like, for example: Amber's baron bunny will jump at the nearest enemy before exploding, in mode 1 BB will follow the active character, in mode 2 BB will follow the nearest enemy and won't taunt the enemy followed. Adds a second orbit to Kaeya's burst, mode 1 has all icicles in the same orbit and charged attacks make them change between close and far orbits, mode 2 has two icicles in each orbit, C6 adds 1 icicle to each orbit if mode 2 is chosen. Now for the 6* artifact, we could get unique story artifacts (or god forbid, event artifacts) that have guaranteed fixed stats and a unique 1 piece set effect, like a "Venti's windblume - 1pc effect: refunds 10 energy when character uses burst". Allocating those special artifacts would be like handling Event Weapons, everyone gets one, but only one. did you put your catch on Xiangling or Raiden? Did you put your venti's windlbume on Bennett or Xiangling? PLOT TWIST IT WAS ALL A XIANGLING BUFF AGAIN
Just skip option and a new world level that's all I want please Hoyo please....Or at the very least make open world enemies level 95+ for Natlan...Mare Jivari is also situated in Natlan so make that place the ultimate showdown of high level bosses like level 100+ bosses I'll be so happy and so would all the veteran players...!!!! All I can do is prayge 🙏🙏🙏🙏
If Genshin added event replayability, I honestly only would want the super lore-heavy events (like unreconciled stars) to be replayable/accessible to new players. I feel like having random challenge events being accessible year-round would cause too much bloat.
My idea for the artifacts is adding a 6th slot. Not a new piece to the set. More of a bonus slot where you can put any artifact you choose for extra stats, and you can both have a 4 set and 2 set piece bonus for a character. Heck they could add a 6 set bonus if they want to
I’d honestly find fixing the artifact rng to stop giving so much def better than a 6 star artifact. Grinding on very limited resin only to get def is annoying. The alchemy table isn’t better either.
They don't have to make old events permanently available, just give new players a way to trigger them, like, on their anniversaries or something. Then anybody who missed them can complete them within that 2 week or so time frame, and after that it's gone like it's supposed to. Maybe also make it available for players who did the event back in the days, but failed to get all the rewards.
The artifact is such a good idea. I actually got excited from the thought of that, but then I realised I’ll never be in the game and now I’m sad… Either way, I think I’d want to get artifact loadouts first.
for CO-OP they should pick 3 random weekly bosses every week lvl them to 100 then everyone brings their best character CO-OP bosses should give artifact lvl up bottles and mora
Semi agree on 1, since storage definitely a problem and voice files are probably tossed. It'd need a serious workaround. Definitely agree on 2, that doesn't hurt anyone since you can choose to not use it like you said. 3, is definitely a bit harder since each character is designed as its own playstyle, and you pay just to play new playstyles through new characters. I like what you're saying on it, but sadly due to Genshin's nature characters are the playstyles in of themselves. This is the same in StarRail except even worse since characters are even more locked to their classes/roles in that. 4, that definitely sounds fun. 5, definitely. As much as I like just chilling and farming overworld (can't do that in StarRail), I would like more permanent modes in Genshin. Some co-op modes would be much appreciated since co-op combat has a different "meta" vibe from solo play.
I’d like an option to refund the materials used to level a character. Ex: revert a level 80 character back to level 1 and refund at least a portion of the mora, talent books, level books (I don’t remember what they’re called) originally used. There are some characters I don’t use or regret leveling up (cough aloy cough kaveh). I’m not hard pressed for those materials but I’d still like the option 😭
When I first started playing I thought the point of artifacts was exactly to change the way a character plays, also both strong box in Genshin and the autoplay in HSR already shows that farming stuff is not exactly the most exciting type of content to have, I hope there's some kinda of change with new games
In line with Prismatic artifacts, I've also seen the suggestion of "Perfect Crowns" that would allow you to ascend a character to 100, with the caveat being that only 1 character on the team could be level 100 at any given time (not that you could use just, just whoever you last put on the team would be the only one set to level 100) I think it would also be the perfect time to add extra "end game" content as well, because it could be that little bee extra power that accounts that struggle w/abyss would need to clear it or similar content, w/out needing to do the same sort of farming the rest of us have done,
Epitomized path, or whatever it's called on the weapon banner, for 4-stars. If they did it every 4th or 5th 4-star character is the one you want people might have a shot at getting 4-stars they want to build. Doing it like that would basically be a 40-pull or 50-pull pity for getting 4-stars. Even if it's just on the standard banner and it still resets if you swap. I would have a chance of getting Kaeya or Faruzan from it instead of the ridiculously low chances it has now, which only get worse with every new 4-star they add. Heck, even just an Epitomized path that you can choose to add (aka have a nope option to not have a guarantee) that will let you actually build Kaeya, Lisa, or Amber. Why do they give us 4-star units that cost tons more then a 5-star to constellation???
As for events, it would be awesome if they will make them still in the game but when it reaches the amount like 10 or 9 they will start deleting 1 old event each new event
i want the drop rates at AR60 to be actually better than the drop rates at every other world level. mostly for boss drops, i just want a guaranteed 3 boss drops per run! this has been a pet peeve of my mine for so long, constantly getting 2 drops which not only wastes my resin but also my time. people complain that there's no real reward for reaching AR60 and in my opinion this would be better than any reward they could give
Honestly I just wish you could toggle constelations and passive talents. things like trying to limit elemental infusion, (or allowing kokomi to crit) would be a helpful tool for players to have instead of them being permenant changes
I feel your want of skill trees like thing exists ingame through the use of artifacts, sure its a pain to go farm another set but like said sets allow for more playstyles. As for the endgame i kinda would like one like the SU DLCS and elysian realm. one can use it to also tell one the story of limited events or stuff like artifacts and also there can be a rare stage where you trial a stage around a certian characters playstyle but also learn thier lore too, but i can imagine something like this would take ages to do.
Instead of having 6* Artifacts it would be better if they added a function that enables you to upgrade artifacts of a lower rarity to a higher rarity or some sort "reforging" at least one substat into a random one via use of a specific resource.
1.- The old event problem is that it would be a lot of gb of space, I would say they should be a dlc either by primos or money 😊, that way it only downloads when you buy it 2.- I love the game story but the skip option would be amazing cause there’s some quests that take a looooooot of time on cutscenes and dialogue 3.- cons and skills are fine cause you can actually do a lot of builds if you don’t follow the meta. For example you can run a clam healer furina , pyro dmg furina with bennet , obviously you won’t get the best results but it’s fun to make weird unique builds 4.- 6 star artifacts would be horrible , more farming and rng substats, I don’t even want to know how much resin would it take to level up them What I would really like would be co op for all quests and co op abyss
So, does anyone actually believe that a Billion Dollar Company can’t come up with a way to rerun events, even the Summer ones? You are lying or a simp if you say they just can’t do it. Genshin Would Never
for the talent tree idea maybe it could be implemented into the constelation system; each time you get a repeat character you unlock a "set" of 2 or 3 constelations and then you can then you can pick between them (this would also come with the option to toggle them completely off preferably lol)
I swear on one of the dialogs for the Aranara quest i died cuz some slimes were attacking me and i couldn't skip 😂 i thought i was invulnerable during dialogs but seems like i was wrong
nah, less forced coop events.. I don't wanna play with other ppl, I don't wanna make friends.. I just wanna play my comfy game and turn off my brain after working the whole day.. also, as ideas, maybe increasing the max lvl from 90 to 100; reorganize artifact's level to match base 5 (yk, 5-10-15-20-25 instead of 4-8-12-16-20) and increase their stats for the last 5 levels; skip dialogs until an important part/choice; bonus for 3 and 4 chars with the same element on a party; and an epitomized path for 4* chars (both event and standard banners) and 5* weapons (at least in the standard banner)..
There are many things i would want too but I BELIEVE hoyo can never do that - it will take passion to make a good which is rarely needed for this gacha game... so it's bit fantasy to say/ask it. But ofc "skip button"(2) , "endgame"(3&5) and "persisting events"(4) etc seems bit in capacity while a bit out too. Star rail has managed quite well with their system and they do have as much toeven expand more "double set bonus sets", "multiple type of chrs" etc BUT what i think is "genshin has a ,assive open world, i could have opportune on that even better but alas!" But atleast what you mentioned (2) is easier to be done for atleast just non-voiced, non-imp quests!
I only partially like your "prismatic artefact" thingy. The idea of the "wildcard, goes everywhere and completes any set" is neat and definitely needed. I'd like quality of life improvements to the game, when artefact farming. - For instance, main/sub stat swapper. Or a main stat chooser, before you collect the artefact. - Artefacts load outs. You take 5 artefacts, you name the whole bunch and you're set. - Toggle on/off constellations. - A survival mode. More enemies, stronger enemies. Until it (willingly) becomes unbearable. Survive as long as you can and get rewards. Oh yeah ! More rewards AND resin. 160 daily resin for Mondstat and Liyue. 240 for Inzauma. 320 for Sumeru. 400 for Fontaine. 480 for Natlan .... The more stuff we have to do and characters we have to farm for, the more we should be able to farm.
I would LOVE a skip dialogue option because I have multiple accounts and I would be thrilled not to have to sit through the story twice. My main account is dedicated to the story and the lore and quests and character building and all that: I love falling into the story here and I am glued to the screen. BUT my second account is mainly for co-op and on that account I value different aspects of the game: I value the combat, exploration, and multiplayer opportunities. If I could skip all the dialogue on my second account I would do it in a heartbeat!
The primatic artifact I thought about also, but one that counts as 2 parts of everything else you have equipped. Which is more powerful than yours but it means you can equip 2 of one set ,2 of another and this one and you get the bonuses of BOTH sets . May be a bit OP in practice. ;)
As someone that actually hates the gambling aspect of the game I HATE the concept of a rolled 6 star artefact. I'd much rather use the synthesis mechanics of other Gachas where you can upgrade something by combining lower level materials to make one significantly stronger. I'd like more ways to get stronger without more bull RNG involved.
The character customization idea is pretty brilliant and can work in a similar way to how Monster Hunter Rise has their switch skill mechanic. In MH rise when you get to a certain point in the dlc you have the ability to unlock new moves and combos for each weapon. You can select 5 different changes between 2 scrolls that you can switch between mid fight. Some changes can turn a slow charge damage weapon like the greatsword into a 3 hit combo weapon with better attack speed or give grounded weapons like the switch axe or charge blade aerial attacks to change up its moveset. If genshin would have a system like this we could have the ability to change how certain skills and bursts work. We could see navia turn her skill from a shotgun into a machine gun, itto turn his multi charge attacks in his burst into one powerful swing that you have to charge, yae's turrets turning into a singe aoe damage circle that can hit multiple enemies at once, etc. We could unlock this mechanic when we ge a character to level 80 but unlock more changes at level 90 to encourage players to invest into their characters more and continue to experiment and play niche characters that could have more uses in their teams.
IMO, we need the ability to turn 4* artifacts to 5*. There are sooooo many good 4* sets. Maybe make us combine 3 4* artifacts with the same mainstat and set and it would change to a 5* one.
I can see why some people would like 6-star artifacts, but even more artifact grinding is the absolute last thing I want. I'd rather the game either not have artifacts at all, or have a consistent system to construct the ones you want instead of relying on RNG (yes, HSR does sort of do this, but it's extremely limited-use, gives no control over substats, and only exists because its artifacts are otherwise even more annoying than Genshin's). But they'd never do that, whales refreshing resin to roll more artifacts makes far too much money. The classic "more endgame" and "replay events" lines are, I suspect, not important to the vast majority. There's already too much content. I still haven't finished the last chapter of Lantern Rite, plus several story quests, the new Chenyu Vale world quest, and probably more. Piling on like a hundred hours of old event stories would be overwhelming to new players. Which, of course, leads to the skip story button... but, this one is deceptive. If you can just skip entire chapters, you're bound to do it sometimes, and then the story feels less important because you only saw bits and pieces anyway, so you skip more often, and eventually the whole game feels like it's not worth spending time on. For better or worse, they've successfully tricked us into caring more about the lore and the game as a whole, just by not treating the story segments as optional.
The only thing I want is more character and player progression. Being stuck in ar 60 forever and lvl 90 characters is just... underwhelming. At least for me.
Regarding having the equivalent of a skill tree, while I would have loved if this is how it was to start with, at this point, with nearly 100 playable, it's the complete opposite of a simple change. It'd require a whole balancing exercise on top of programming time to implement some things (unless the passives are as simple as just stats buff, but that'd be extremely boring). One thing, however, that could be cool is finally having a final ascension at level 90 (thus giving an incentive to level up your characters to that level), with two different passives, but only one could be activated at any time. For example (didn't analyze for balance or anything), with Klee, you could have one that makes her burst stay active when you switch out, or one that makes her consume no stamina during her burst while increasing the damage of her normal and charged attacks. Or with Xianyun, one that provides grouping when you attack with her E, or one that provides some interruption resistance to the active character when they're mid-air during her burst (Avoiding them being knocked away while performing a plung attack, but not when on the ground).
