I like how the hab module turned out, looks very cool. The decision to leave that extra support off of the other building is the right one. Leaving the support off makes the building have a little bit more of that "alien" feel to it. I can't wait to see these painted.
As always you never fail to amaze me. Your a credit to the gaming industry, ... I mean it. I don't get tired of seeing your videos because they've always inspired me to push myself to be better, and I enjoy the challenges. I have become jaded as of late with GWS, even though I don't have any Tau pieces I can always build terrain, and customize as needed. Thanks.
The habitat looks great, and with the part snapping off that other building it's made a huge difference to it's design and I think looks much better. Reminding me a lot of Star wars now for some reason, thinking Jedi Knight 2 especially. Have you considered giving pre-shading a try? If you haven't tried it before you might find it a nice change of pace. Prime the piece white, then use an airbrush to spray along the panel lines in black or a dark grey. Then you spray your base coat over the top and it will auto-shade the piece for you. Good way to start out weathering and saves you panel lining everything by hand at a later date.
Habitation buildings run into a similar problem with bunkers. While the base and roof can be the same height, you'd want the gap in between to be about the height of a model piece to make it more habitable looking. But it still looks amazing.
That is looking awesome mate. The lines look great. Some one once asked a special effects artist who worked on star wars models so how do you know where to put panel lines and antennas and what is there function. The artist replied there is no function it just needs to look cool.
This brings back some happy memories of building tau terrain. Your curves at the corners are IMPRESSIVE! Is that hand or tool sanded? Your line work is CRISP! Nice job there Big Guy!!!! XD
