The understanding of mental health can come from many different frameworks. One of the most common distinctions made, is between the biomedical and psychosocial models. To better understand how this UN CRPD connects to the psychosocial approach to mental health, this module will cover the the psychosocial model of mental health and what this approach encompasses. In particular, the video will address how this approach impacts our ability to ensure mental health prevention, support for those already experiencing mental health problems or psychosocial disabilities through recovery and a human-rights based approach and addressing mental health norms and stigma.
