I purchased the zr2 bison. My wireless charger doesn’t work either. I took it to the dealer and it is a know issue but they have no fix for it yet. I purchased off of Amazon a replacement tray for the center console that has an eye glass slot and a change tray as well as a spot for my wallet and other stuff. Was pretty cheap.
@@kritonman1 nice! Wish I had a Bison! Feel free to share the link to what you bought on here for people to see and possibly pick up for their trucks. Thanks for the comment.
One good add-on accessory I got was the hood struts. Took 15 minutes to install, no drilling needed. Much better & quicker when open the hood now. Amazon has at least 2 different types. I bought the Techpicco brand, much cheaper than the Redline brand. So far the quality is good, no issues.
The first thing I checked after seeing other compliments on You Tube is the fusees in the fuse box, 85% of them were not pushed all the way in, I could here electrical sounds pushing some of them down!
Thanks! I also heard this and it was one of the first things on checked when I got the truck. A few were a little loose, but most were fine. I was going to check them again soon to see if they jostle free after driving some miles.
Yes, but that little compartment is still visible to those passing by and also in direct sunlight. I don’t need my sunglasses boiling hot before putting them on my face.
you are living in the 1990s dude. nobody is gonna steal your sunglasses and on top of that, you should be utilizing a reflective windscreen cover anyways.@@KevinExclamationPoint
I have a 24 Colorado. And it had issue of the camera, but it was replaced entirely and new software loaded. Only remaining issue is the clicking coming from either under the dash or in the engine bay (where the brake master cylinder is) after about a minute and a half since shutting the engine down from driving.
@KevinExclamationPoint what's funny I just got off the phone with my dealership service dept. It is normal operation. Since there's no physical key to start and run the engine, this is what GM does to immobilize the wheels. (That's how it was explained to me)
I’m having the same issues than you and even more, my infotainment system is glitching, ac blower is turning on by itself, the already fixed the suspension twice, I really love my truck but the lack of quality is disappointing
Yeah, unfortunately with how complex these are I think it’s a challenge to build something that doesn’t have issues. Obviously some are more affected than others. Sorry your truck is having problems. Hope they resolve themselves. Thanks for the comment.
I hate the Canyon/Colorado’s don’t have a headlight switch on the dash. These had plastic oil pans & plastic drain plugs, terrible idea. But I’ve heard newer production 24’s have changed to aluminum oil pans. These have good power, but the MPG’s are the same as my 21 Tacoma. 🤔
That’s the first I heard anyone mention the oil pan being plastic. Why would it be bad if it’s plastic? Durability? Yeah MPG is what it is, but the new Ineos Grenadier that’s like $80K gets 15 MPG. The capability is worth the hit in MPG IMHO. Thanks for the comment!
Back in 2021 (April) I was looking for a "Top Dog off-road-focused serious 4x4" my only choices in the mid-size truck segment (mid-size SUVs wouldn't do mainly because of their low towing capacities) were the Chevy Colorado ZR2 and the Jeep Gladiator (Rubicon). Due to chip-shortage at GM at that time, I wasn't able to get a new Colorado ZR2, so went to Plan B (the Jeep). Probably a better choice considering my needs then, so it worked out. Later, when the 2023 ZR2s came out, I saw the huge improvements Chevy did to it, which made it WAY better than the 2021 I almost got...so that also made not being able to get a 2021 ZR2 a positive vs. negative. Not long ago I said if I were buying TODAY, the "new & improved" ZR2s were making a buying decision HARDER between the two: ZR2 or Gladiator. However, seeing some of the reviews/issues people have with their ZR2 have had I'll keep the Gladiator. And if I had to buy TODAY, I'd just get a new Gladiator vs. a new ZR2. After almost exactly 3 years of ownership, I'm still waiting for something major to break on my "POS Stellantis Crap" Jeep...but sadly so far, so good -- nothing serious. I hope that continues as I'm not sure I want to/should get a Jeep (Mopar, not 3rd party) extended warranty or not but need to decide VERY quickly as my OEM/factory warranty (36-months) expires soon! -- BR
Hey thanks for sharing your experience. I was toying with getting a 2 door Wrangler before getting the ZR2. I love the Jeeps despite whatever bad rap they may get. For the mostly on road driving I do it’s probably better I ended up with the ZR2, but in the future I may end up with a Jeep. Thanks again!
@@KevinExclamationPoint I HAD to get truck (again, restricted to mid-size segment only) as I needed the extra towing capacity mainly for the large and-likely-overloaded U-Haul trailers when I move, capacity the Wranglers/Ford Broncos didn't have (3500lbs is anemic). But someday I may get a small TT (TravelTrailer) -- like an Airstream Basecamp-X, NuCamp 320 Boondock Edge, or Scamp 13'/16'/19' -- and the Jeep will tow those smaller/lighter trailers just fine. As for paved street/hwy driving -- like you I'm mostly ON road vs. OFF road, as it's my Daily Driver -- I've taken my Gladiator on several long-distance road trips (CO, NM, TX and back again) and it's a VERY comfortable/smooth-riding vehicle for that (rivals my previous 2016 Honda Pilot EX-L/AWD). And no "sloppy Jeep steering" either! I'm guessing the longer wheelbase helps the ride as does its heavier weight. A Gladiator is not the best choice for something like Black Bear Pass (switchbacks) so a WAY shorter wheelbase 2-door Wrangler/Bronco would be best. But even in one of those, Black Bear is just too scary for me, so I'll "pass" on that one. ;-) "Jeep Wave" ...even if you don't have a Jeep. ;-) -- BR
I’m glad you like and enjoy your vehicle. Given the fact that the back door doesn’t close as securely as the front door and some of the fit and finish maybe a deal breaker for me. I bash my F150 for its transmission issues but at least the doors close and the information screen lets me know if something is ajar. Sorry to say this but it appears GM/Chevorlet rushed your truck thur production. To be honest all vehicles have some quality control issues.
I don’t doubt it. It doesn’t mean I’ll have any major issues like I did with my F150 that turned out to be a lemon. I’m hoping that’s not the case. I don’t want to bash the workers assembling these trucks but it could be better. Perhaps a lack of accountability across the board as even my dealer seemed to skip steps. Anyway, thanks for the comment!
Its definitely taking a while to get one. I ordered my ZR2 November 21st. It still has not been built. Im using extra time to save a much larger down payment lol
@KevinExclamationPoint I think I got every option except the technology package. I kept going back and forth on wanting the surround cameras. In the end I decided for $1000 more I didn't think I would use them enough besides showing them to people when I gave them a tour of my truck. Lol
I don’t mind the antenna, but agree that Chevy shouldn’t be using them anymore when the shark fins exist. I guess most people would order the crew cab short bed in the Colorado and Canyon, so GM decided as a cost saving measure to only produce them in that configuration.
I found getting in and out was uncomfortable. It seems like the seat is farther inboard from the edge of the door sill to make entry easy. Do you have any issues with it?
It’s not the easiest vehicle to get in and out of. I wish it had a grab handle like the passenger side, because I have to use the steering wheel to help me get in. I like the way it looks without steps too much to add them, although that would certainly help getting in and out. The edge of the seat will surely show wear after a short while. For now I can get by.
@@KevinExclamationPoint Backs up what I thought when I checked one out at the dealer. Agreed the steps don't look great but I think they'd be a necessity. Maybe I'll look at the powered folding ones.
I hope none of your neighbors work at the factory and see this comment! LOL! Trust me, I get it. Despite the less than perfect fit and finish, I’m hopeful reliability will be good. Time will tell and certainly the odds are against me! Thanks for the comment.
I totally agree. It didn’t make my list because even when I had one with my F150, I never used it. So, personally it doesn’t matter to me. I can definitely see how some would be annoyed. Thanks for the comment.
