YOU MUST HAVE A GARAGE IF YOU CAR IN CHICAGO. Theft and ROBBERY OUT OF CONTROL. 6. CHAOS AND NUISANCES RUN AMOK. You never know when the MOB IS COMING and police randomly shut down roads, AT ANY TIME to combat MOBS. A 10 minute trip will take 40 minutes as so many roads shut down and you are stuck in traffic. 7. CRIME IS EVERYWHERE. There is no such thing as a good part of the city anymore. Crime is RAMPANT EVERYWHERE even in $600k homes areas. 8. Much of the crime INFO is suppressed in HIGH INCOME HIGH COST HOUSING AREAS. I have been robbed in areas with $600k- 800k area. I was paid off not to talk to the news. The neighborhood associations do a good job of covering up the crimes . 9. THE CRIMINALS FROM ALL THE LOW INCOME AREAS ARE BRANCHING OUT TO THE RICH AREAS. They understand that its useless robbing other poor people. 10. THEY ARE EXPANDING THE REDLINE which is the most dangerous el line TO THE FAR SOUTH SIDE OF CHICAGO. This gives the criminals easier access to the city. 11. Businesses and more CORPORATE JOBS ARE FLEEING, except Amazon and other warehouses for the poor. 12. The leadership includingthe mayor isnt actually there to SOLVE PROBLEMS, IMPROVE THE QUALITY OF LIFE, OR ATTRACT BUSINEESES. They are just there for WEALTH DISTRIBUTION AND PLUNDER FOR CRONIES. The truth is this city is becoming a PLAYGROUND for the rich and tourists, and a POVERTY WAREHOUSE FOR THE POOR. People are quick to believe whatever they hear from the news or what other people have to say without actually visiting the place and seeing it for themselves.

They just hear stuff on the news or social media and blindly follow without question. I've lived here 4 months now and I love it here. Never felt unsafe. Sure there are pockets of bad areas and you have your occasional weirdo on the street but coming from CA, it's nothing in comparison. Chicago is a fine city.

Having lived in Phoenix for 22 years, I can't believe people are raving about the food here lol. Chicago seems like such an awesome place.

Don't do it. It's such an overrated place. It's not as unsafe as people say but the people here suck. And it's overpriced.

It has nothing to do with racism. Crime is crime, regardless of who is committing it. Your arguments makes absolutely zero sense.

I just graduated from Duke and its stunning, but UChicago is also really nice (they rejected me lmao). I feel like both schools have that cool gothic feel. Im working in Chicago now and will be down there to participate in their orchestra though!

Also you’re in the city. Of course there’s going to be traffic. There’s traffic in all major cities. From 11am - 2:30pm & 6:30pm - 7am there is no traffic on the highway. Normal work and school hours affect traffic like any other state

I think people care more than you think. Chicagoans get mighty pissed when you say anything bad about their city. That alone reeks of insecurity and inferiority complex. Tell a New Yorker that you don't like their city and they'll be like "okay" and go on their merry way. It's cause they ACTUALLY don't care. Believe me, Chicagoans care. As much as they like to pretend they don't. I live here and Chicago truly does have middle child syndrome. Doesn't mean it's not a fine city but let's be real here.
