I'm sitting here laughing at Dustin complaining while looking out the window with a tear in my eye knowing full well that truck out there has all these issues too 😂
@@bhswarrior94 yessir go for it you’ll love it , i think I’ll go with 40s it’s just that I’m trying to avoid road noise since all 40s available are only MTs 🤷🏻♂️
@@the50coach that's what I was thinking I could probably go with 40s on a 7-9" kit but I kinda wanna go 12". 40x15.50s is about all I personally trust the IFS with though.
@bhswarrior9432 I got 40's on a 8" no rub but when I put the 2" spacers on I had to do some cutting to make a sharp turn, I want to do like a 3" body lift if I can find a shop to do it
This felt like it was more about 14” wides than lifted trucks. There are a lot us living the lifted life struggle without a -76 offset. You missed about 10 other things
@@CustomOffsetsTV keep it that way it suits the truck better too in my opinion. If u have a big diesel truck u should have a decently thick off-road tire
i fit through most drive through with 24x14 37s and a 8in lift, i just put my truck on a 3in and 33x10s because i got so tired of the lifted life, i also washed my roof for the first time since i lifted it🤣
I hate the slinging of mud an water all over the side of my truck an lord forbid I have the window down😩 I love my 22x14 Akron’s but the struggle to keep it clean is all to real 🤬
I’m a 46 year old drywall hanger with a newer Silverado 2500 stock. I use my truck for work like hauling tools and making money every day. Everything hurts. Hahaha!!!!!
You missed one big one and that is towing capability and the sway that you get from having a taller lifted truck as well as less towing capacity, those to me are big, as well as having not much benefit from wider wheels, especially in snow because in snow you want the tire to dig not float , The only time a wide tire would come in handy is in sand
Yeah it gets worse the taller you go! I've got an 84 Chevy k10 that's been my project for 10 years now. Bought it as a backup for my daily driver and every year it gets bigger and less streat legal. Pretty much a competition mud truck now that barely passes for street legal lol
My truck isn’t lifted yet. I’m waiting on my coil overs to come in from BDS. (Getting a 4 1/2 lift) But, I get people always high beaming me because I sit higher because of my bigger tires and they think that I have my high beams on. And with my c4 front bumper everyone that looks aggressive, I get a lot of people break checking me.
What I hate is that I can’t park in parking structures anymore. I was literally two inches from the ceiling and felt like I was going to hit all the lighting fixtures.
I gotta say that the turn radius and the water splash every time you drive through standing water are by far what I hate about driving my lifted truck on oversized tires.
These setups look sick, but they’re just not practical! I’ll stick with my 20x10s, -25 offset, 33.5” tires, and a 4” lift, plus fender flares to keep things clean.
Yeah that’s the same setup I went with for my 2017 Ram because it doubles as a work truck I load and unload the bed constantly and I’m only 5’9 so 6”+ on 35’s+ would’ve been a pain to work out of. Question though, how well do those fender flares work keeping the truck clean with the -25 offset? I have the same offset and kinda like the look of flares and was considering it if they worked at keeping the truck cleaner too
@@Mr_Glock19 They help keep most of the mud and rocks away from the sides. -25 makes the tires just about even with the lip of the flares, maybe just a hair inside the lip. It’s not perfect, but it helps! And yeah I think they look great. I’ve got a black-and-white theme going with my truck, so I left em unpainted and apply some UV blocker every now and then.
I'd say besides the mpg is the rough ride. I have a 13 Tundra with a 3" lift and the ride is just insane. Feels like the smallest bumps are going to knock my teeth loose. Raised areas on the highways at 70mph gives me sort of a catapult sensation lol.
I have a 2019 Colorado Z71 with a 5.5 zone lift on 33x12.6 Nitto Trail Grappler MT's (aggressive tread) and it's smooth as silk. The ride quality may just be You lift kit and shock choice.
If you do any mechanical work yourself...not being able to reach into the engine bay! I hate having to have a 3 stair step stool to get to my spark plugs!
I hated the horrible gas mileage I got in my old 2015 Platinum 3.5 Ecoboost after I threw an 8 inch lift and 22x37s on it, my mpgs were obliterated. Braking at high speeds became a chore also. Parking was nerve wrecking but having to baby it was probably the one thing I hated the most. It was super easy to change the oil though. 🤙🏿
I hate absolutely nothing about driving my lifted rig. 😎 when someone tries to race me in my lifted truck that’s when the mallet supercharger comes into play lol
2015 Sierra 5.3 7" 35x12.5. AFM lifter failed. pulled the engine. but i had to pull the wheels off and lower it to almost sitting on the rotors just to be able to work
7 inch lift on 35s with -18 offset, honestly my turn radius isnt that bad, its not great but manageable. I do agree that certain drivethus suck. I cant go to my local Arbys and a carwash anymore!!! their shit was annoying even before the lift, now I just dine in and go to a diff car wash. Good points in vid but its all worth it!!!
My better half is 5'2 I am 6'3. I want a lifted truck. She is dead set against it because she already has issues getting in stock height. so I don't hate anything she does lol
My better half is the same height, and she complained about entering/exiting my truck, which is lifted 4” and has 33.5” tires. I bought some side steps, and she loves stepping up into my truck now. They were very easy to install, as well.
Since lifting mine it rides like shit and ...you can't reach stuff in the bed and definitely the carwash thing really sucks...pretty much the only good thing is looks...other than that it sucks....I wouldn't do a 6 in again...maybe a level.
Fellas he is not lying everybody is trying to race you. When got a lifted truck.... Soon as you look in your mirrors on the Hwy. And you see another lifted truck. You better believe he's gonna try to pass your ass .... I be like okay let's race 😂😂😂
Honestly when I had my truck I never hated anything about her other than the clearances and the parking structures. That I couldn’t fit in or I’m barely squeezing in with like half of a fist worth of clearances.
I love the wheels I got from y’all they look great on my 2005 Z71, also that’s a badass Duramax you got Dustin mines only a 5.3 But I’ll never sell it 🤣
I don't know very many people that lift their trucks and go with 14 wides in Colorado.😂 That must be an Eastern United States thing. The most with I would ever increase to is 12.5 and I don't particularly care to go that wide 10.5 or 11.5 is plenty also where I'm from the whole point of lifting a truck is to gain clearance so that you can put larger beefier tires on your truck and go tear the s*** out of some mountainsides. Still living out here I see some of these guys with lifted trucks that put on super large rims and super thin tires. In my opinion if you ain't got at least six or eight in of sidewall it's not worth it. I get that a lot of people lift their trucks because it makes it look cool but there's much more to it than looks. That's my thoughts on it anyways. Regardless of how you like it keep on doing your thing. It's also about customizing your rig to the looks and specifications that you like. Keep em high y'all
I love that you have a dark blue truck with chrome wheels, dark blue and black I just don’t think looks good. I am struggling to find chrome wheels with a classic look. Do you have any recommendations?
I have a couple vehicles including a truck. But when you lift it to the max and put giant rims on it I’m super judgemental man. I like the look of a very small lift and slightly bigger tires. Nothing this ridiculous
1-The squeaky an clunking 2- can’t fit in most drive ins 3- no where to get a wash / do it yourself 4- having to lift your ass up to get out all the time so you don’t ruin your seats 5- so many paint chips now 6- no more excellent turns 7- I’m supper slow now lol 8- Karen’s talking shit 9- can’t just grab stuff out of the box no more 10- list keeps going I’ll stop here 11- one more I feel so good that it’s lifted just don’t give two F bombs what you think
Only thing I hate is loading "ANYTHING" in your bed groceries or small thing ho all over the place & you cant reach then not unless you get on the tires/bumper then dont even get me started with a motorcycle...
One of the worst things for me about owning a lifted truck is the blind spots get worse, cant see infront of my rig for over 7 feet, granted I have a 9 inch suspension on 3 inch body on 37.5s
I love a good lift but if you use your truck for work or daily driver it just becomes an obstacle more then anything Unfortunately I can only afford one truck so it's gotta stay at the stock height
I’d say the thing I hate most about my lifted truck is that whenever I go to a big city I can’t park anywhere due to the size and width of it,especially there’s no parking garages big enough!
Lol, rain? Try mud and my 1/4mi, 12 degree gravel driveway 😂😂 with poke like that your paint will get chipped and mud will be flung up your windows, into your bed, and all over the sides… every day 😜 city trucks have such a cush life, makes me wonder if it’s like keeping a killer whale in an aquarium; it yearns for the trail, and to roam the mountains freely 🤪😂😂
I can’t relate to some of these since I did 10 wides and didn’t lose any turn radius. My truck is white and is dirty all the time. 😂 The one about people racing you is the most annoying to me. Literally everywhere I go, people just drive like 🍆s around me. Going super slow in front of me, not letting me pass, riding my ass, or trying to race me, it’s always something. 🤦🏻♀️
I don't get why you want your tires to stick way out I guess your trucks are street queens. I do trails so I do not want my tires sticking way out an inch or so is ok if it's to put on a little wider tire for traction in mud but that 14 looks to me like someone smoked too much and went shopping
Have a 19 F250 PS, 6” LA kit on 17x9/38x13.5 ToyoMTs, deleted. Just put 4:88s from NitroGear. Tow heavy with custom Texas Pride gooseneck…rides perfect, never an issue. Would never put them wide wheels on a truck.
