In this video I go over 5 things I hate about my 2024 Toyota grand Highlander. This car is highly refined and built by the most reliable manufacturer in the world, so yes, I am nitpicking, but thought I’d share my thoughts in this video.
I really like the energy that you have in your videos! You’re unlike anybody else on the platform, not to mention that I’m interested in the Grand Highlander and you’re one of (if not the only) people that I’ve found on RU-vid who has it to keep. Really look forward to seeing what else you have planned with this car and your future projects. Keep up the good work! ❤
Hey, thanks! Anything automotive related I am obsessed with. Mainly Italian and European cars. Going to make some incredible content on this channel! Thanks for the support!
Well, the fuel and temp gauges are still digital, they just look to be non digital. So if you lose the screen, you will lose those as well. However they are separate little screens though so that is a benefit.
Yes, I love my grand highlanders but when I do remote start it always has an error pop up that it couldn't connect and I've only had it for 2 months so I'm still in the window where I don't need to pay for the subscription yet. Otherwise, love it!!
I got the xle also. all of the higher trims available were only 7 seaters and i need 8 seats. I wish the grand hL had a removable middle seat in the second row like the honda pilot
Oh my gosh yes. I don’t need that drink holder but can use an optional middle seat. I also love that in a Honda Odyssey, you can slide the seats across, too.
Absolutely love my Highlander but the things I would change would be the navigation screen to be voice activated for dimming instead of trying to find a place to pull over to change it the cup holders don't work well together no handles on your cup the drive selection switches on the center console underneath your hand keeps getting hit and switch to different driving modes the hood flexes when driving down the road as the wind is buffering off it could use a 12 Volt plug in in the back The auto start using a remote would be nice if the parking lights would come on to show that it's on .so hard to hear it and you can't tell it's running or not What I do like is How much space there is inside The advanced control that the Cruise control has How quiet it is driving inside how well it drives in the snow The backup camera also has a wash that works really good The seat adjustments really could use two settings for people getting in it one for tall one for short and then the operator can adjust it from there
All valid points! They have some downsides for sure. But aside those few things I’d rather the highlander or GH over a pilot/ cx90 just due to the space. It’s very convenient.
Well yes, hate is a petty term as noted in the description. That being said, I needed to go for the XLE because I need a bench seat in the second row. You cannot get a bench with the limited trims or anything over XLE
@@memento.Mori.livelife not quite, at least when we bought ours. When we bought ours we were told the bench was only available in the XLE trims. I am also in Canada. May be different in the US
It’s funny, when I made this video shortly after buying it, it felt underpowered. But when I put it in sport mode and really step on the gas, it definitely moves very well. At least for the XLE 2.4T 👍
Appreciate your experience with the XL (hybrid) that I am considering. I noticed that black is the only current interior colour and I agree with your views overall. As a gift for sharing your comments, check out Diode Dynamics yellow fog lights (I.e. SS3), super strong but within legal limits and there you have it, superior to what any mfr. would offer as a standard package.
Definitely a good option, I bought this one on a lease, and will be returning for a hybrid limited most likely next year. That being said my remarks in this video are petty, it’s hard to find things you don’t like about this car because in reality it is very good
The biggest thing I hate is how the Dealership ran our brand new Grand Highlander thru their car wash and scratched the entire vehicle clearcoat in swirls and tiny scratches all over and didn’t want to own up to what they did
That’s too bad :0 darn! I figured all dealers had a touchless method especially when delivering 1st or 2nd year cars. Laziness! I’d be pretty upset aha
Yes the cluster is rather plain Jane, and to have to pay for drive connect after a year Naw no thanks , you pay enough for the vehicle. Fog lights are included in most other vehicles. so yes should be included due the what you pay for this vehicle . Enjoyed the video and items you pointed out that could have been better for the cost.
@@Erikzapp I have a 2024 C300 and was thinking about getting a GrandHighlander but the miles per gallon seems horrible. My C300 takes around $85 to fill up from empty to full at around $5.00 a gallon but gives me around 500 miles to drive with
Options are nice! Aha, that’s all. Especially if you are someone that wants full 8 seats, then going for higher trims wouldn’t provide that even if you wanted different interior colour options, etc. once you move past XLE you can only get captains chairs in the second row.
That’s right. A lot of people agreed though ha ha. That said though after having it for about seven months, I have to say the air conditioning is quite tragic. Despite having a huge cabin, my 2023 Ford F150 is probably three times more powerful and that is crucial in hot climates.
I’ve re-fueled only twice since I got the car so not sure on the real world capacity quite yet but I’ve seen the claims of 17-18 gallons capacity (68 litres)
Aha it’s a great car! Everyone has aspects that they dislike about a car, and aspects they love! I am releasing a video of 5 things I love in a few days. Despite my petty dislikes in this video, there is no SUV in this class I’d rather have. These cars hold they’re value incredibly
@@Erikzapp I have 2016 Mazda CX 9. I’m only going to trade it with the new CX 90. I will wait for a couple of months to make sure this newly designed beast has no even minor issues. If I go with the Grand Highlander, it will be the max.
Ok I stooped watching the video when you say spend an extra 10,12 $13,000. The Grand Highlander was introduced to be a reliable, simple 3 row SUV. $13,000 more you are going into Lexus territory and defeating the purpose of an affordable spacious 3 row SUV. Your complaints for the most part are pretty petty. You just should have said that Grand Highlander just isn't for you.
