7.7 Gallons. I had no idea the ST1300 had such a large tank. That's almost the same size as the tank on the GSA. That's precisely what you need on a touring bike, especially in areas like Northern Nevada. Thanks for taking us along and sharing.
We used the ST1300 as a police duty bike from 05-2016 in So Cal. Great bike. Smooth great handling. A bit heavy but great turning. The windscreen has two sets of holes so if you’re a taller person it would go up higher. The only thing is the alternators went out at about 50k miles on a few bikes
What I think is...WOW, what a huge tank! I haven't heard of a tank that large on a bike. That would sure come in handy on some of the long rides I take.
6K Wow, nice one Glad you like your Pan, sorry, ST1300 for you guys across the pond. I did wonder how you would feel about the ST as the Harley is a completely different beast, chalk and cheese you might say. I’m lucky to have a small stable of bikes; a few classics, my daily ride is a 2008 Honda CBF 1000, (it has a detuned Fireblade engine and it is what we in Europe call a sports/tourer) got it new; I gotta 2019 Royal Enfield Interceptor and a 2021 Royal Enfield Himalayan that I use on trails etc. I ride with my wife, (who doesn’t ride) on the pillion a lot and we love all our bikes. Thanks for another lovely video Bob; luv your stuff man; ride safe. Neil
I really liked the adjustable windshield on our fjr too! Like you said it is very nice. Wow, 7.7 gallon tank is huge! The fjr had 6.6 I think. Our fjr supposedly could use 87 octane but always pinged so I would run premium. That's one thing I never felt comfortable with was the height the bike sat me when cornering. Once I rode a Harley I felt more at home. Don't get me wrong, I love sport touring bikes, you can really lay down some miles with them! Glad you like your ST1300, I remember the first time I seen a ST1100, I fell in love with sport touring bikes and one day was in a position to buy the Yamaha FJR. Thanks for a great video Bob! Brought back some good memories of my time on the fjr👍
I’ve had two FJRs and both ran perfect on 87 octane. Saved a ton of money. The ST1300 has two sets of holes in the windscreen. One taller and one shorter for more adjustments
@stevesmith756 I would've loved to use 87 octane. It is definitely expensive running high octane. I'm not really sure why it would ping with 87, but It didn't sound good. Didn't want to damage the motor, so stuck with the higher grade.
I do love those bikes! I’ve always thought that works be so much fun to ride! I wish my Wing had the adjusting windshield. I’m happy you’re happy with the bike!!
My fav. Short sports screen in the summer gives you protection or wind blast. Storage is huge. Tip wings make it easy to lift back up. So stable it's awesome
My touring bike has a Memphis shades fairing and it works great 👍. I like having a loud bike because people in cars can’t always see you but they’ll definitely hear you! Loud pipes save lives buddy! That’s a nice feature. Less stops for gas ⛽️
its sad honda gave up on this model. these types of bikes are great all around . as daily commuters (as long as tight lane splitting is not an issue) or long trips this bike does it all well. I dont think i could ever ride a bike that does not have the wind prtection this bike offers . the ability to ride with your face shield fully open except for rain is something i will never get tired of.
I’m the same. Ride with the face shield up, and a piece of black electrical tape along the front edge to act as a sun visor. The Screen just below my line of sight and it’s perfect.
Hate to bother you Bob but I was wondering about your trailer stuff situation I’m trying to find me one here in Georgia was it hard for you to find a motorhome or a trailer park to park your trailer in did you have to do it all yourself or get that place you bought the trailer from help you out a storage delivery and set up if you get this something in your comments I will get back to you thank you
Hey Bob - just stumbled on your video, and found it interesting. I'm about ready to pull the trigger on an ST1300 myself. Haven't been on a bike in decades, but remember the fun I had on my old CX500 back in the military. But I'm older now, bigger too, and need something more than half a liter to haul my ass around. Didn't want a 'Wing, but wanted something... 'close'. I guess you've had yours about a year now, maybe make a video on any maintenance issues and if they're easy/hard to correct? As a new subscriber, I'll be interested. Later, brother.
Hey jimpitunti9065. This was an 07 with under 4000 miles and I loved it. Fast, smooth, and handled fantastic. 1 fault was the amount of heat on the right side from the faring and I solved this with a Corbin seat. I did sell it and bought a 2022 Harley Heritage 114 but have been looking for another ST1300. Thanks for having a look. ... Bob
