Hi 👋🏻 Thank you for all your videos..I’m starting my nursing next month (eeeekk!!) and your advice has been great so far. I know it’s not of great importance but could you do something on how you wear your hair on shift and if you wear any makeup, what you wear? The impression I get from friends who are HCAs and nurses is that their appearance is fairly important as to how professional they look...thank you again ☺️

Hey, I'm sorry if this is a dumb question, maybe you already answered this somewhere but... how exactly do the nursing programs in the UK work?? (meaning all the way from the ground up like from high school to "fully licensed working on the floor nurse") ... ? Being in the USA I have a general idea how ours works of course, but I'm curious how it works in the UK. :-)

Hi! I'm a first year student nurse and the way the education system in the UK is like this: Primary School (Nursery-Year 6), Secondary School (Years 7-11), College (16-18 years old), University (19-21 years old) = qualify as a RN. Hope this helps :)

I argued with my mentor coz she doesn’t trust me. I’m on my third year and all she wants me to do is provide personal care to patients. I offered to do admission and discharge as she was complaining of her work load but instead of giving me the opportunity to learn, she assigned me to 1:1 care. I resigned from my HCA job so I can focus on my final placement only to do the same thing? I don’t feel supported but I’m not sure if asking the manager to change my mentor will tarnish her record?

Hey..i m an indian student and i want to study in uk I have a great passion to be a nurse but now i am bit confused about the courses between biomedical sciences and nursing..... can you tell me that what according to you can provide me a good placement and career???

I'm not really sure about the difference between biomedical science and nursing. I think nursing is a lot more practical and Biomed has fewer placements I believe, sorry I can't help you more!

Biomedical sounds more research and as Claire said, Nursing is more practical. Nurses learn a lot of science and especially in the job..

Biomedical is more theory based and in university lab .The no compulsory placements as nursing

I have just started my degree in nursing and was In the same situation. As nursing is classed as an exception course you’ll be eligible for the full package from student finance to do it as a second degree. I had no previous experience. Hope this helps ☺️

First one I totally agree with having been in a situation with a mentor who discriminated against me due to my age and the fact I have anxiety and ADHD. I ended up bringing it up to the university staff and they did not care, but it was very obviously an issue and was unfair treatment, I just had to bare through it. I was still 100% respectful and open to my mentor about it so we still worked well together, and never argued despite her saying some very impolite and unprofessional things to me. Great video :)
