@@mypolitical definitely agree 👍 the price will not be justified for everyone. For those that only use the router occasionally and for simple tasks like edge chamfers if something and don’t need all the other features and operations then the price isn’t justified. These routers are for people who use them a lot and for lots of different operations where they need a high level of precision. I started with a ryobi router and used it until I needed to do things it could not do and then upgraded to routers that could do what I needed
@@dustylumberco I've never taken a hard look at the Festool routers before, but I've watched almost every one of your videos. do you prefer one of the these two over the other, and what are some of the tasks you would do with each individually?
@@Sasquatch0251 I use the 1400 more because it’s smaller and lighter and is good for the majority of tasks. I have the bigger 2200 with the bigger motor for bigger/ tougher jobs like slab flattening or big mortise work where it would be hard on the smaller motor with the big bits
Well, no. Festool is the only one I know of with the ratcheting collet. It's nice-to-have but not a deal-breaker for me. The micro-adjust is nicer on the Festool than other routers I've owned, but also not a deal-breaker. The dust collection is what sold me on the OF 1400. I haven't tried every router out there, but of those I have used it's the best by far.
Действительно чувак! Байден же виноват в том что в РФ нет подобных инструментов. И в целом посмотрев на мастерскую этого чувака - становится завидно. А так да европа и сша загнивают! И байден виноват что в рф нищета и ничего своего нет!!!
I've never heard your voice and I honestly expected you to be Swedish or something and that you didn't speak English; hence the silence in your Shorts lol
Don't mean to rant, got the OF1400 myself, but.... Any router I know has interchangeable collets (at least can be bought) and has a speed dial (except specialized edge trimmers). Each Festool router has its own attachment system, so they are not interchangeable (talking about "system idea"). The depth stop and micro adjust is kinda wonky, the revolver spring ads 0.1-0.2 mm play. You cannot adjust the depth while plunged in (you have to adjust, then push down again)(dunno if the OF2200 can). Can't say I love it. Any tool got its flaws....
Saludos
Would really love to have some of my own one day. I was lucky enough to use a few of their products on a several billion dollar job. But it will be a while before I get my own. I think that festool really makes the best products for true finish carpentrers and woodworkers but most people even pros can get away with a regular one, most of the skill comes from the person not the tool. But man tools like that sure make it easier lol.
The other fact is tey tend to keep models for a decent amount of time before replacing with new tech. The older models are still valid and have great resale value. They are worth saving for, especially if your sweat equity involves paying the bills.
There is literally NOTHING mentioned here that EVERY other decent router doesn't also do. So why would I spend $700-1000 instead of about $200. Gotta give me a reason worth the money.
@@alfredomarquez9777 No, no estoy adinerado. Pero por tu forma de pensar tú si estás bien jodido! En una vuelta se traen, o de encargo con la familia. Ni que estuvieras a él otro lado del mundo para que digas eso.
IT IS NOT that their tools are not extremely good, but the fact is that their Price/Performance Ratio is just not as good. In other words, they charge too much for what they actually invested in designing and fabricating them. And that is even more exaggerated when analyzing their accesories, as some of them are totally comparable with those of other brands, but at twice the price!
Your "Porter-Cable" router must be an old one, because nowadays, that company no longer makes any decent product and has gone way down... Kind of "Black&Decker" or the even worse "Stanley"!
@@alfredomarquez9777 you'd be amazed at what's happened with the Porter Cable company over the years. But yes, my router is probably roughly 30 years old and still runs unbelievably well. I don't recall what I paid for it but it was top of the line at the time.
