Domestic water supply has always been an issue in Mauritius, mainly due to the appalling condition of the pipe work. It certainly isn’t due to lack of rain ! One thing to note is that if you live in one of the towns on the higher ground ( eg Vacoas, Curepipe ) there seems to be less problems with water supply, probably due to its close proximity to the largest reservoir on the island, and the higher rainfall in this region.
