This review was quite vague with very little information to be able to make a decisive purchase. It was as if no one on their team actually tried one and merely made this video out of everyone else's reviews. This was quite a half ASSumed review.

What kind of in-depth are you looking for? You could always install the app and read through the manual to see what it's got going on. Bought mine today since it was recommended by others and #2 in best scanners on amazon. Works fast and great so far on my end. Good luck with your endeavors.

@@brianvogt8125 if scotty tells you to get a tool, then get it, no other Bluetooth scanner out there to match it or even come close, the live data and mode 6 is the dogs b*******, this video is bullshit and I must watch it again because I can't see five things, a lot of cars have hidden functions like the BMW Series 1, so when you go into functions on there you can bring up all types of data, but this scanner will go deep into a diagnostics like cylinders.

You fail to mention that Bluedriver only works with the big four automakers but not imports.So far it does NOT work on two Nissan's, one VW and one Toyota. Their support is no help. Have you done a review of any OBD scanners on which car makes AND models it is compatible with?

I just installed it on my Subaru BRZ and it works great. I had an issue with some conflicting data from what was published by the manufacturer and a customer review ... So I called their 1-800 number in the enclosed instructions and it was answered on the second ring, directly by a tech, and he assisted me with confidence and concise instruction. That's about as good as technical service gets from anywhere. I'm 100% satisfied so far.

Tech support sucks bug time. You file a form. 2 months you get an e-mail with a "case number". A case number for just a simple question. 2 months later you get another e-mail saying to check status of your "case". I just asked a question why it can't tell me if one of my TPMS is bad. That's all. They can go to hell. Don't buy.

Yeah whilst I feel that the BlueDriver is reasonably OK but not at the rip-off price they charge & now that I've been made aware of the really slack customer support, I'm totally turned off & looking for a better OBD2 scanner!! I certainly would not recommend this scanner. In today's business world it's all about customer support & if they don't do it within a reasonable time frame like 48 hours, tell them to simply get fucked & go elsewhere!! I'm now trying to sell my BlueDriver at a mere fraction of the price that I paid for it a few months ago & looking to buy from a business whereby customer service is of paramount importance. These bastards surely fooled me!!

It does work with imports!! There is a compatibility link where you enter your vehicle and it tells you what is supported. Just google bluedriver compatibility. I pasted the link in a previous comment but it was removed. It’s annoying how RU-vid does that!

is BlueDriver Bluetooth Pro OBDII Scan Tool for iPhone & Android able to scan european cars as well and is there a list of models that it covers? I know that this video is 1 year old, so I am interested if it is still a good buy.

Its mainly targeted at american made cars. You probably wont get full functionality with European cars.

@@cloudbase7799 makes total sense if you know the subject matter. But the answer to the question is no, it’s not bidirectional. You’ll have to spend at least $500 for those types of diagnostic tools.

@@thatdonnyguy Bluetooth is inherently bidirectional. Ju M may have been asking whether the BlueDriver Pro can be used for programming. I contend that the label bidirectional is meaningless by itself. Scan tools are the primary bidirectional control device and even basic scan tools can be considered bidirectional since they send information to and receive information from vehicle control modules.

@@cloudbase7799 Bluetooth or wired has nothing to do with bidirectional ability of the device. If you have ever used a real professional bidirectional OBD diagnostic tool, you’ll quickly know the difference. While I do not own this device, it appears to have some additional functions over a basic scanner. But, on Amazon there are people even asking if it’s bidirectional and “no” is the repeated answer. More and more cheap devices are gaining more bidirectional ability, but they just haven’t got to that level yet. When you find one that can connect and manipulate body control modules, let me know because I’d rather not pay $$$ for a clunky diagnostic tool when I can use my phone.

@@thatdonnyguy Sure they do. Without bidirectional communication between a scan tool and the software controlling it, you would be able to receive/read reports XOR send requests/commands (e.g. clear code). But even a simple read report function is bidirectional. The scan tool requests data from a vehicle control module and the vehicle control module sends data in response. The BlueDriver scan tool can also request to clear a dtc. The point is that without more information (what do they need/want to do with a scan tool), the term and Ju M's question are all but meaningless.
