Fixd had not worked on any of my vehicles. And the way they charge you before you even get your device for their "premium" pacxage. Smh I had to get my money
I owned my FIXD device about a year before using it for the first time. Setting up the app was pretty straight forward but, it turned out that these FIXD units are pretty limited as to what it can actually do. I used it for the first time to try to find out why my Airbag Warning Light came on and stayed on. I found out by contacting FIXD customer service that these FIXD units will NOT work if you're trying to find the causes of problems other than the common Check-Engine-Light. If you're Airbag Light comes on, you're out of luck. Fortunately for me, I have a friend that owns an auto repair shop. He has one of those multi-thousand dollar OBD scanner. Also fortunately for me, we just traded work. I'm an auto upholsterer and he's a mechanic.
Just signed up for one fixed blue tooth adaptor So far a little on the scamy side only wanted the 19 dollar something single unit During check out it added the warranty I didn't agree to 40 some bucks later I feel a little ripped off all ready
Great video. I rather spend more money to have a top end code reader. Yes it will cost more up front. But, buying the reader and two years of the premium service it comes out the same for top model. Also, with top models you can do more with your vehicle. Just a thought.
Premium features not worth it. I would only be interested in the emissions precheck. Not going to pay $72 per year for that. There are better OBD scanners for much less money that can read the the status of all the emissions monitors. Don't waste your money on this.
The premium features are optional. You can still use the OBD features. That’s what is great about the free market. There are options and some people may like another option. Cool.
@@scalywag I can't tell you which one is the best because I haven't tried them all. What I can tell you is that I bought the OBDLink MX Plus and am very happy with it. I paid $125 for mine. Comes with a mobile app, has some enhanced features, there are no recurring fees, and you can use it on as many vehicles as you like.
I have it and it always says nothing is wrong with my vehicle every single time but other readers will show that there is something. I don't use the premium. They claim it's not a requirement but I don't think it diagnoses correctly if you don't...???
I bought one and it was helpful--sort of. It told me the battery on my van was running at 11 which was getting low. Bad alternator but FIXD didn't diagnose that. I took the FIXD to run it on a car I was thinking of buying but it didn't catch anything even though the car heater wouldn't heat up the interior, and the engine was getting hot. Why it didn't catch something so obviously wrong? Who knows?
It really depends on what your vehicle can detect. This is a OBDII reader, it can clear a checked engine light and give you the readout of what codes your vehicle is giving, if you van can't detect the issue then it won't throw a code.
I hvae the Fixd module along with several other scan tools but my Fixd is my go to ..& love it so far & ive had it fro many many years now ..Thanks for sharing
. *I purchased one not knowing they want you to create an account; I don't want to create an account, and as it's Bluetooth, why should one have to, unless they are tracking my data.* *I'll just stick with my wired one and keep my privacy.*
They are tracking your data. Whenever it works (often it doesn't work at all, I keep trying to connect with frustration ), they Email me the info about the codes it threw .
So you have to buy it, then get a membership. Plus at no time did I see him give a tutorial on using it. And understanding the results of the scans. Try again sir.
Thank you, you answered my questions and I successfully cancelled the "premium" $99 a year subscription that I would NOT have needed. I have an excellent mechanic for the Jags for years, just need to know- (if for example) - was safe to drive to the shop or have the AAA flatbed transport to the shop.
I just ordered fixd. I'll be back to review and update it periodically. I will be brutally honest. I drive a 2011 Toyota Sequoia SR5. This was only 20 bucks but I plan to give it a thorough work over and run through and I am not buying the premium service initially.
@@-TerryBogard I just bought one $20 and waiting for shipping. I was so surprised that they shipped this product through UPS to USPS and u will get it from USPS (base on tracking number). I hope it's not fraud...
@@decondeghet I just road tripped across the country and my Maint light came on blinking. Scanned it with fixd and no errors. So I looked up the light and it was telling me it was time for an oil change. I wouldn't have known this without it, so far well spent.
I just ordered this the other day, and just wondered, can you use it on multiple vehicles? While I'll be using it on my vehicle, I want to be able to scan my moms, as well as other family members cars. The Fixd site says I should purchase other scanners for more than one vehicle, but that just doesn't make any sense...
If your vehicle continues to have the issue it will continue to trip a code. Being able to reset the light is nice if you are trying to determine if there is a false error reading, but the OBD II system is meant to alert you on a potential problem, so take note of the code.
Make sure the blue tooth adapter is set into the OBD II port securely. Also make sure your device is using the current OS. If that doesn’t work contact customer support. fixd.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/requests/new
Does it read the mileage (to discover if a car's odometer reading is tampered or not) too? For example, you are buying a car and you want to check if everything is legit and good with the car. TY
Not all.of us are willing to trade the high end of five digits of money for a quick loss by depreciation for something to get one from point a to pint b.
@@9ALiTY what was the phone called? Software issues are statistically most prevalent on cutting-edge “technology” What does it being $1000 have to do with anything?
Thank you for this video it was very introduced you explain every question I've been having since I got it. Now I can start using it again cuz I haven't been interested in the premium. But for some reason I wasn't able to use it my internet service is very strong. I'll try it again
I’m in the same boat as that person. I purchased one of these devices but couldn’t use it unless I subscribed to a payment plan. Can’t remember the monthly amount but it’s roughly $40 a yr.
What is weird is you don't have to do the subscription plan. there is a small X that appears a few minutes after you initially log in where it has the premium plans. Every time I have used it I haven't had to pay and I've tried creating a new profile on a new device and was able to bypass the subscription all together.
You can Email FIXD and see if they have any ideas. There could be a few reasons it doesn’t work. Your cars OBD port may be damaged, your phone isnt up to date or the FIXD dongle is defected. All of those would contribute. But contact FIXD. fixd.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/requests/new
I know my power steering pump is going out in my car, its kind of obvious and I believe its leaking to, not 100% sure on that. Would that app tell me if its leaking?
Good video. If someone could clear something up for me... Is it required to have the device inserted all the time? I had an issue with my A/C shutting off for 5+ mins then coming back on over & over. When I inserted the device, and checked the app, "no issues found", so I'm not sure if I need to leave it in place. Thx
I just purchased Fixd sensor in Pakistan for my Japanese Subaru Pleo Plus 2015. App is asking for VIN number which Javanese cars do not have. How to resolve it?
Issue Forecast looks like the only thing I care about... Assuming I give the App ALL the Data about my car will this app tell me "Time to Check/Change oil" "Replace Filter" "Top Up Power Steering" ?
you can scan at any time. there are some codes that will linger in the system. it could be a sign of a larger problem.. I love this because when i go to my trusted mechanic i have at least an idea of what the issue may be.
