Yeah, eating was an adjustment. I did it 2 days before Thanksgiving whilst drunk…such an idiot😂😂. Didn’t stop me from eating everything, even if it hurt. Pain meds and ice water throughout helps with swelling and comfort. I have a pretty decent pain tolerance (a kink) lmao
i’m getting my tongue pierced really soon. i’ve been putting it off because i had a lot of dental work i needed done, but i have my last dental appointment tomorrow morning so i’m going to schedule my piercing finally. i’m super excited, and this video just got me more pumped lol thank you for the advice!!

Yes, I think any piercer that knows the anatomy will know to angle it slightly since that’s the way you’re tongue naturally sits against the curved roof of your mouth. I didn’t have to tell my piercer to do that, she just did. And mine doesn’t touch my teeth in any way at all. (Tip: Just be very careful when you’re chewing both while it’s healing and ESPECIALLY once it IS healed and you’ve gotten comfortable with it in your mouth, so that you don’t bite down on the metal balls, since THAT can definitely take a chip off of your tooth!). Yeah, I know what you mean, lol but it’s all mental. Don’t think about the needle, just think about the cool new piercing you’ll have in the end! That’s literally all I think about whenever I either get a new piercing done OR do it myself. Trust me it works😉.

Mine is over a year old at this point as well and the ball on the top of my jewelry has also nested. It isn’t super deep, but it is there and it’s normal.
How long do I need to keep the long bar in for its been 1 week and 2 days do I need to wait 4 weeks to change it? The long bar is getting too long now but still can't put a normal size one in.
Not while I was healing, but I just got over a head cold recently and even after having it healed for over a year now, the bottom of my tongue STILL got a bit sore, but that was mainly due to my sore throat and nasal congestion since it’s all connected. But yeah, having all that WHILE it’s still healing, I’m sure sucks!
Really?! This was my second LEAST painful piercing I’ve ever gotten! But everyone’s pain tolerance is different. And as far as her piercing it a little further back than you expected..so long as the placement doesn’t continuously bother your mouth, gums or teeth after it’s healed, it should be fine.
Aw yeah, that sucks. Definitely have to make sure you check the balls every few days or so, just to make sure they aren’t loose. One of mine unscrewed while I was eating too, but fortunately the barbell stayed and I actually just took one of the balls from my industrial piercing and put it on it as a last resort, lol🤷🏾♀️. And hey it worked, especially since they’re both the same gauge (14g)!
No, don’t be. As long as you check that they’re tight often, you should be fine. Sheeit, if anything I’d be more concerned about the HEALING process all over again! Lol.
