Strange for me because Ben Sims, Deetron, Bryan Zentz, Christian Smith, Samuel L, Hertz, Umek, Rino Cerrone, Paul Mac, Leandro Game (...) were doing just that Tribal Techno 24 years ago but calling that hardgroove which is by the way the name of Ben Sim's Label kinda a bit weird to me ... Tribal & Locked Groove anyway

One is a rack I made with operator, is available for free, link is in the description. The other it's a drift preset from my preset bank. Anyway, the project is available for free, you can double check it properly!

press B to be in draw mode then hold Opt (mac) and draw your line.

tbh nothing special about it except, most of the time the time is a basic sine wave or a filter square. then there is no especially recipe for that in term of pattern, depend what you are looking for but I can do a tutorial maybe yeah...

hi iam new to ableton at 4.29 you said you can turn the velocity off how do you do that.

sorry was a way to say the velocity is the same for all the note so it's kind of ''off'', you can still in sampler or any synth you will always have a parameter where you can select how much the velocity impact the volume, bring that to 0 and velocity will not affect the volume

I know, understand that when doing RU-vid tutorial I am trying to use word in the title that easily resonate to people so I am sure I am targeting the right people... Sometime is not super accurate but it's this or otherwise I mislead people with a too broad title... Tricky one

@@jendrikschmidtI know but because there are so much different techno sub-genre I think people start to use this name to define the very percussive/tribal side of techno...like when you see hardgroove techno you know pretty much what type of techno to expect...

you can hear it better on the 909 hats, pay attention to the length/tail of the hats, especially where I show both on the same pattern, you can hear how the open hats play for longer when the closed hats is not playing right after.
