Mordheim: City of the Damned is the first video game adaptation of Games Workshop's cult classic tabletop game Mordheim. Set in the Warhammer World's decimated Empire city, Mordheim: City of the Damned is a turn-based tactical game where you lead warbands into bloody and lethal skirmishes. The game blends RPG elements, fast-paced tactical combat and intricate unit customization in a time wrought by chaos and rivalry where only the strongest survive.
After a twin tailed comet crashed on Mordheim, the City of Damned turned into a terrifying battlefield where rival warbands fight fiercely for the control of key neighborhoods, looking for glory and fortune by acquiring the very valuable Wyrdstone fragments.

Damm this is handy, spent the last two days getting my ass kicked by this game. Latest restart was caused by selling all my warpstone then the next day I got a shipment order

I am so hooked on this game. Anyway I would love if you would share your ideas/thoughts on skill progressions for the different, as I am always looking for ideas. My main problem with the campaign so far is the ambush, where your entire warband is caught by the wagon out in the open and surrounded, it is like that scenario is designed to destroy characters

Which warbands? I have clocked about 300 hrs on each, on both the PC and ps4 versions (they aren't much different but their are some subtle differences, like perception is only 1 turn on ps4, whereas on pc it stays up lol). My favorite is chaos, but the vamps and skaven are a lot of fun. Man, people don't know what they are missing....You always see people saying there are no good turn based tactics games around, when this is like new generation quality Vandal Hearts 1 lol. And the Warhammer setting and lore is probably the best fantasy setting in all of media. Yet so few seem to know this even exists....

I've been checking your Mordheim let's plays with great interest Game kNight! I am really enjoying the game and your tips are really good to follow. I too have had to start a fresh warband (my Skaven lost 4 team members to terrible injury rolls so I went with Chaos - much fun!) I should remember the beacons! Keep up the great work!

Thanks for pointing me towards this video during your stream :) That is a lot of useful information and I think it will help me out quite a bit in my own campaign! Maybe you could go into the strength and weaknesses of the different warbands in a future video? Some of them are pretty obvious but I assume there is a lot more to some of the warbands than first meets the eye.

Take me through an attempt - warband members, difficulty and how you advance (split/together etc.) Potentially check my current D. I. E let's play, lots of good tactical advice :)

@@GamekNightPlays i play total war warhammer 2 mainly, thought i would try this, ive made 4 attempts at campaign missions...i get wrecked every time, after 4 trie i kinda gave up on it tbh, i found your videos while trying to get tips

Campaign, especially, are special as the enemies are more nummerous, have better builds and positioning as well as built in reinforcements while you have to do 1000 objectives. Never attempt campaign missions unless you are about 10-20% above the rating. Lemme know if you have questions :)

I hate/love this game The other day started a skaven campaign All going fine We surrounded a single rat henchmen in an alley 3 henchmen and the leader failed 90% of their attacks for like 5 rounds with 90>% accuracy He took down my leader Finally their warband routed (fcuking henchmen didnt even went down) Mission ends First time a single unit have even taken down this run Leader gets "injury free" only with a slight "death" I rage quit the game for another 2 yrs Maybe with a fast save reload mechanic it would be manageable but its just plain painful to play even when played to perfection you MUST expect anyone can die any second because yolo...

Just got into the game due to a sale after being underwhelmed in the release of Necromunda by the same developer. I can't get enough Mordheim now.

@@GamekNightPlays I was honestly shocked by how dissatisfied I was with Necromunda. Mordheim had it's flaws, but it felt as frustrating as Necromunda.

Yeah, the tutorial was a bit lackluster - I think they made it better on PC at least, with several "scenarios" you can play through to get a better understanding of the game. Hope my videos can help a bit more in understanding :) My D. I. E series can help too :)

Ok, I do want to like this game. I guess overall and off the top of my head, I'd like some tips on how to balance fighting/scavenging and just some way to make combat less stressful. I've resorted to mob mentality. Trying to focus all damage on one enemy to make up for misses. However, I don't love this tactic because one, It's annoying to have to position my troops very snug and worry about outside opponents, and two, It's less fun. So, any tips.

To begin with, to not stress too much keep to doing normal difficulty missions. Positioning is, unfortunately, key - make bottlenecks where you can get two v. one situations. Make sure you have one or two dedicated tanks, shields, heavy armor, armor training etc. Have a couple of ranged characters to support your warband, especially heroes are good at this. Use perception to find items/shards through buildings, use it before you move to have it active for the entire move. Be sure to move anyone who picks up wyrdstone back, if they get too heavily debuffed it can be hard to face enemies. Enjoy the game and don't worry too much about losing sometimes, as that is where we learn the most!

@@GamekNightPlays Thanks. I definitely expect to lose alot. But I wish I had more time and chances to loot. The last mission I played. I planned to fill my characters with stones and head back to wagon, but we got into a fight. I was losing untill I decided to gang up on the leader and go for the moral drop which won it for me, though my survivors were in rough shape and I lost some of my better crystals because they were on the ground after people fell. I don't love the rout system, it's a huge double edge sword. It saved me this time but it means that once the fighting starts then that's the end of exploring. And it means I can't turn the tide even if my strongest people are left, which is what happened my first game. Actually, do you know if you actually walk away with any loot that you weren't holding if you win. Like if there were still some unpicked Crystals, are those just abandoned.
