You guys should demonstrate it on a really dirty car that hasnt been washed for at least 2 weeks so we can see if the foam is actually working .... Clean car and showing how the cannon works doesnt make any difference since the car is a bit clean.
Gman 207 the title for the video says how to use the foam cannon. You should look for a video that says how a foam cannon works on a really dirty car :)
No Joke, that car when being pressured washed the water was beading off like it had just been porcelain waxed. Hardly a good demonstration. I also had to slow the video down a tad to understand what homie was saying. ;)
Congrats Matt, now you can make everyone around you jealous because you can foam your car the Chemical Guys way. Stay frothy buddy, send us some before and after pics to our Facebook page! C.G. Alex -
Thank you for the tips! I love using my foam cannon with my pressure washer with chemical guys soap.. now just saving to get myself a nice gas powered PW!
Great great video chemguys!! I'm all about the suds and foam I like lots and lots of it I makes me feel like I'm actually cleaning something I'm that way when ever I clean my car or whatever cleaning around the house I do. Keep those videos rolling. Take care guys😃 Your number one fan, Matthew
Winter is coming fast. I know you guys are in California but I was hoping you could give some winter tips or maybe some tips on how to keep a car clear of salt and other winter harmful materials that can cause rust buildup to help preserve my vehicle. Thanks!
I have been a ChemicalGuys products user for one whole week now. I honestly thought all of their products were just "hype". Every one of their products is like a miracle cure, on RU-vid. I thought to myself, "what Sorcery is this? " for every video I watched. So last week I ordered $450 worth of their products and I have to say I am a believer of their snake oil. This stuff is absolutely fantastic. I have used Meguiars for a long time and think now that Meguiars is basically "Hershey's Chocolate , compared to ChemicalGuys Swiss Chocolate Goodness.
Hi Gregory, We're glad that you're a believer of our products. Chemical Guys My Neighbor just walked over because he saw my reflection as I walked past my car. He was like.. "what? !" He has never seen shine like that. My paint is 11 years old. It's an everyday driver. '06 Scion XB. The Black Car Kit, I'm sure he will be ordering too. Lol
Dylan Garan lucky guy !! I'm still amazed. I was waiting to be let down. I was waiting to use one of their products and be like ..."nope" No chance of that happening. This product: www.chemicalguys.com/Wheel_Guard_Max_Coat_Rim_Wheel_Sealant_8_oz_p/wac_303.htm Another amazing product. I was so happy using it, because honestly it smelled soooo good. It was the magical scent of "Stripper Pussy". Honestly, I was grinning from ear to ear. And it's a whole lot less $$$$ than that 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Hey Gregory, 60% of the time, it works every time lol. Wax is an amazing tool to enhance the shine of your paint, and it adds protection which is all so important with the chaotic weather we've all been experiencing. You can't go wrong with the black car care kit, everything contained within it will send your car's paint to the next level of clarity. I too have a whole trunk full of supplies, I'm sure my collection will grow. C.G. Alex -
Thanks for the final tip.. was curious how to maintain my cannon. Cannot wait to close On my house Friday so I can start detailing again. Yeah Florida weather
Electric power washers work fine. The key is the GPM output. Needs to be 2.4 and up for these foam cannons to give you what you are looking for. Shaving cream foam.
J Fazzuoli ...great point...many overlook using warm water....good analogy is dishwashing....warm/hot water w dishwashing liquid soap creates more suds, and breaks grease, debris off a lot easier than cold water!
Glad I asked regarding the CLR or the vinegar rinse. I am looking forward to using my chemical guys EQP 310 Torq along with your Mr pink soap thanks for your reply.
That's great to hear, the Torq is amazing, foaming is allot of foam, you won't want to stop. Mr Pink definitely sets the bar for Chemical Guys line up of car wash shampoos, it's a fan favorite! C.G. Alex -
A fairly important tip that was missed is to turn off the pressure washer after foaming and moving to the scrubbing stage. Otherwise you'll burn up the pump if you leave it running for more than a couple minutes without pushing water through. (only applies to gas washers of course)
Hi there, thanks for watching. Detailing can be expensive at first, but when you realize you only need small amounts of product to get the job done, you can keep detailing for quite some time. I myself got into detailing, and I would slowly pick up products as I went, The more videos I saw the more practical everything became. I built my confidence in detailing by with every new item I picked up and using them. Stay Tuned, more great videos on the way. C.G. Alex -
excellent video. thanks for posting. you did a great job with this. I especially appreciated the point about how much car wash soap to put into the bottle of the cannon. I was going to use way to much soap, until I watched your video.
Nice video..same soap I bought from you guys Amazon special lol $56.00 for a nice foam cannon gal of honeydew soap and a very soft microfiber mit...I love the soap foams up great rinses off nice I used a 3200 psi gas pw worked great...thank you
Psykic Chimp you foam the car and then rinse it off which gets rid of most of the dirt then you wash it with a soapy wash bucket to get the rest off with a rinse bucket too. Snow and rinse first reduces amount of dirt you’ll get in the buckets
Wow! I don't get ANY WHERE near that amount of foam from my Dusichin Foam Cannon using Extreme BodyWash & Wax with my Sun Joe SPX3000. Do I need higher water pressure?
Look at all that water 💦 if you doing multiple cars I agree fill the 2 buckets all the way but for one car? A gallon a bucket should be more than enough
Thanks for the video, I just found that you guys have a store just down the road from me in Mesa Az. Sounds like I will have a new favorite store to visit.
Excellent video! Is pro soap the only way to get thick foam? I used 3oz of Oreileys cars was product and no settings give me foam that thick 😩. How can I do better?
Hey Steve! Thanks so much for reaching out. The right car wash soap plays a huge roll in creating thick foam. Using warm water in your foam cannon will help the aeration process. Check out Honeydew Snow Foam! - CG Nick www.chemicalguys.com/honeydew-snow-foam-extreme-suds-cleansing-wash-shampoo/honeydew-snow-foam.html
Hi! We love the awesome feedback! Make sure to follow us on Instagram & Facebook to stay updated. Thanks for being part of the Chemical Guys family and thanks for watching! -CG Henry🤙
Hey Michael! Thanks so much for watching. It is perfectly fine to use a gas-powered pressure washer for automotive detailing as long as it doesn't exceed 3500 PSI. - CG Nick
Only down fall about the CG's bottle is the $100 on amazon or 110-130 on e-bay price tag that's $100 Canadian that a little to much for some brass and plastic. Sure it only cost maybe $25 to make. I get the whole you get what you pay for i see that more for wax, soap, DA polisher but not a plastic bottle.
Everyone seems to do this differently. It seems you didn’t rinse off the soap after you foamed. I think the majority say to rinse off then wash with the two bucket system. Can you explain? Thanks!
Hi Michael, it's a waste of water, and the soap emulsifies the small dirt particles when it foams up. When you have a limited amount of time to wash, and you need to glaze, wax, or seal; you really have to move quickly. If you want to take the extra step, by all means, we've been doing this for a long time and we get consistently good results. Stay tuned Michael for more great videos. C.G. Alex -
Would it be advisable to run some CLR or white vinegar mixed in with the rinse water for your maintenance rinse to help prevent calcium deposits. Thanks for this excellent timed video for I just purchased my chemical guys EQP 310 Torq and used it for the first time.
I'm from India and have been watching your videos for a while now.......just love them 😍❤️ I'm gonna start detailing my car,but have no idea which is the best foam wash and which are the best products for car detailing in India. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you 😁
Super noob question I haven't found addressed on RU-vid from detailers, and the rest of the internet yields conflicting information: how do you fill the thing? is it full of soap? Do you put soap and water in? Just add soap leaving air at the top? How do the dilution ratios come into play? (I understand the dilution when using a bucket, not sure how that translates to an "unlimited" water supply.) If you put both soap and water in the cannon, do you shake it, too?
Hey there! Add two or three ounces of your favorite car wash soap and fill the rest of the canister with warm water. Gently stir the solution for proper aeration. - CG Nick
thanks for letting me know how to maintain foam cannons I didn't do the whole process and now it sucks everything up so quickly then run out of time to foam my car it doesn't matter anymore because it was small and it came with my pressure washer and it sucks either way. I will maintain my knew cool one.
C'mon " maintenance" on a $15.00 device with no moving parts, that you've just run a gob of soap through??? You really have these followers brain-washed.
Hey shawoo! You can achieve great mounds of foam using any Chemical Guys car wash shampoo, I recommend using Honeydew Snow Foam. www.chemicalguys.com/honeydew-snow-foam/honeydew-snow-foam.html
Hey there! Both play a key role in the aeration of the foam to produce thick foam. Higher PSI (1800-3000)will cause more foam and the recommend GPM(2.0) will produce thicker foam.
-CG Javier
I have the Versa too! I love that little car. I need to get it looked at though, i've got some sort of rattle on acceleration. Sounds like something needs to be tightened maybe..
Hey there, thanks for watching! I'm a big fan of Nissan's cars, I had a few in the past and now I'm driving their luxury division Infiniti. Yeah you should definitely get your car checked out, my Altima had engine problems at one point that left me without my car for a few days. Stay tuned buddy, we've got more great videos heading your way from the Chemical Guys crew. C.G. Alex -
@@ChemicalGuys thank you! I've been shopping for one but didn't know if 3200 psi would be too much and destroy my paint. This opens up more options for me now. Thanks again
@@ChemicalGuys will your foam cannon fit just about every power washer nozzle or do I need to narrow down my search to a specific one? Do you have any suggestions on brands or what would be sufficient for me just to wash my vehicle's with your products?
Hi Jason! Using the two bucket method reduces the chances of bringing grime back to the vehicle where is can cause scratches. One bucket is full of clean water and soap whereas the second bucket is full of clean water for rinsing your wash mitt.
Hi, great question. Our pressure washer is a gas operated unit with a PSI of 2800, and a GPM of 2.3, so we recommend something similar. Choose a tried and true brand with a warranty for security and peace of mind! Thanks for watching and thanks for being a part of the Chemical Guys family!
Love your products and getting ready to go with a foam cannon. Question: Can a foam cannon be hooked up directly to an air compressor, and if so, what PSI do I need? Thanks again...
For your sealants and waxes like Blitz, Activate, Butter Wet Wax and Instawax and even your paint sealant like JetSeal can you apply it to the whole car and buff it off. If you can do you apply it to the whole car wait then buff it off or apply it then immediately buff it
Hi Harshvir, Yes, for each of these, you're going to want to allow cure and bonding time before you buff it off. For Blitz: allow 5 minutes to dry and haze, then you can buff off to a high gloss shine. For Activate: allow it to dry for 15 minutes before buffing it off. Instawax: Allow 5 minutes to dry to a haze before buffing it off with a towel. For BWW: there is no required curing or drying time, you can buff it off immediately. Thanks for being part of the Chemical Guys family!
You can use any Chemical Guys sealant if your goal is to just get through the winter with a coat of protection. I highly recommend JetSeal just for it's durability if you live in a place that experiences extreme weather conditions in the winter. If that is not an option then consider Extreme Top Coat Sealant with 3x Carnauba Wax. It is my go to product for all of my customers whose cars I detail, super durable, super slick, super glossy! - Griffin
Hi Harshvir, I completely agree with Griffin Lynch, Extreme Top is a great choice, or you can go with M seal, and Blitz. Just having a good combination of sealant and wax to protect the paint is good enough to keep the paint safe during the winter time especially with cold temperatures beating down on your car, and water forming all around the paint exterior.
Would be good to show trouble shooting on foaming...if the foam is more slush than snow, what are the reasons behind it? How long should you leave the snow on for and should you rinse it off before shampoo?
Hi Nathan, I'd love to answer those questions for you. Here are some helpful tips: 1) Use warm water 2) Don't shake the soap up and down, spin the soap container instead. 3) Foam cannons have adjustable nozzles, use them. 4) Use 1-3 ounces of soap, fill the rest with water. Having the right kind of pressure helps, a 2.4 GPM is deal, however we've had success with the Sunjoe electric pressure washer. If you follow these tips, you should do fine.
Hi Katie thanks for watching. That car belongs to one our co workers, and I've seen first hand how dirty it was. I have a similar Q50 and it's hard to tell from a distance that it's dirty because the metal flake in the paint reflects a large amount of sunlight. Our cars are exposed to industrial run off, bird droppings, and road grime. My car gets so dirty that I have to wash almost every week, and apply waxes frequently. Stay tuned Katie, more great videos are on the way.
don't give people false information, that car will have the smallest amount of dirt on it, you can see from when you spray the pressure washer on the bonnet the water sheets off instantly like it was detailed and then sealed with a wax or more likely a paint sealant before you applied the snow foam
I have 2 Torq foam cannons from chemical guys and the big mouth doesn't seem to produce as much foam as the other non big mouth one. I'm using honeydew soap. What torq product, and what soap produced the maximum amount of foam?
hey! I use a pressure washer from Karcher, and when I put the same amount of soap the cannon doesn't create as much foam as yours how can it be? pls halp
Hi Willy, As Nick states, you don't want to shake the bottle because that will create the foam inside the foam and rendering it difficult to have the foam come out of the nozzle. Also, using warm water will stimulate the soap to create that thick foam. Also, the GPM of your pressure washer is important and it needs to be strong enough to produce the foam. Check your Karcher to see if it has the required GPM or if it needs to be more powerful. Also, final tip, you may just need to add another ounce of soap or two; it never works the same for everyone and you have to experiment a bit until you find what works for you.
Hi Cody, Nick decided to showcase the gas-powered pressure washer to save time and water. If you're really looking for an in-depth look at how great an electric-pressure washer can be, check out the link below. Nick shows Frank (new to car washing) how to wash his car with an electric pressure washer. You can skip to 3:42 to see how great it is. We don't sell pressure washers but we can guarantee that both give off great amount of foam/suds. I wouldn't wash my car with just the snow foam...i would rinse it off then wash the car... In reality if you don't rinse it your just washing it with the dirt still on it
@@josiahkaufman393 He rinsed it first, then did the foam and then just cleaned the car, completely wrong way. The snow foam is better put on a dry car so it clings better, leave it for a few minutes then wash it off with the pressure washer. Then clean the car.
Important point on a dirty car, but that Versa had like 2 specs of dust on it at most. It’s totally fine to rinse, foam, and get right to washing with your mitt if the car isn’t that dirty...
william Franceschini you can buy foam cannons for garden hoses. I have a gilmour one from amazon that I use when I don’t feel like dragging out the pressure washer for just a quick wash. Works great.
Hey Sean! There are many different brands and models available but we recommend using a machine that is capable of at least 1.5 GPM and 1500 PSI. In the video, we are using a Sun Joe electric unit and Troy-Bilt gas unit.
Hey MoSkunk, that's a good question. For the most foaming action, we recommend a Chemical Guys Snow Foam that comes in two different amazing scents: Honeydew and the newly released Watermelon! Both these soaps will bathe your car in the thickest foaming suds your car has ever seen! I will link the two products below for your conveince. When you're foaming, make sure to take pics and tag us so we can see! Thanks for watching, and check back for another video dropping later today! www.chemicalguys.com/Honeydew_Snow_Foam_Cleanser_16_oz_p/cws_110_16.htm www.chemicalguys.com/Watermelon_Snow_Foam_Cleanser_16_oz_p/cws20816.htm
Isn’t the soap good enough to remove a lot of the dirt if it’s just left to dwell then ringed off? Then you could do a contact wash with a lot less dirt being gathered in the mitt.
Shhhhhh. You need to buy 2 buckets and 2 grit guards. Always. Why would you just use the pressure washer and foam cannon soap as lubrication to wash your car with the mitt when you can carry 2 10 gallon buckets of water to get less soap on the car?
Hi Elliot! There are a variety of pressure washers available so it is purely personal preference. I recommend using a unit that is capable of 800-3500 PSI but never exceed 4200 PSI.
Elliot Ortiz It would not be good business for them to answer this question with a specific brand... I see a lot of people using the Sun Joe XPS series... I personally have a XPS 2000 that works very well... If I were to buy another one I would go with the XPS 3000, or if you have the money/living situation a gas powered washer... Be advised if you go with a XPS 2000 you will need an adapter to allow for the 1/4 quick connects, I found the adapter for cheap on amazon...
Hey there! Thanks for tuning in. In the video, we are showing an electric pressure washer that has 1500 PSI and a gas powered pressure washer that is capable of 2800 PSI.
Hi! Please follow the instructions below. If your pressure washer requires an additional adapter, you can source one at your local hardware store. Thanks for watching and happy detailing! Unscrew fluid tank from foam cannon unit.Fill fluid tank with water (for best results, use warm water.)Add 1-3 ounces of your favorite Chemical Guys car wash shampoo to the fluid tank.Attach fluid tank to foam cannon unit.Rinse car with water to remove loose debris and grimeReattach bottle and attach TORQ Foam Cannon to pressure washer wandCover car with thick car wash foam to lift and lubricate stuck-on dirt from the surface
We do too Hector, it's the future of car washing, and it's very amusing to foam your car. Not to mention that foaming your car, and washing with a mitt is very relaxing. When I detail my car, I really don't think about much. Stay tuned Hector, we've got an awesome new video launching tomorrow, don't miss it!!!
Thanks for the reply and I always stay updated on my videos of you guys you guys give me good tips on how to wash my cars and you guys have great chemicals go look now . Chemical Guys keeping it 💯💯💯💯💯💯
Thanks buddy, we really appreciate that. We work hard to make great videos, and stay up to date with the latest detailing trends. We're glad to have as part of the Chemical Guys family. C.G. Alex -
I have a better tip on how to clean the foam cannon. clean out the soap like in the video, fill about 2/3rds with water and 1/3 with white vinegar and take it through the pressure washer. This will give you the right Ph blend to keep deposits off.
Hey Ronald, what's up. We use something like the one in the link I left you www.harborfreight.com/tool-storage/tool-carts/16-inch-x-30-inch-steel-service-cart-5107.html
