Tips: #1. LCOG Method #2. Custards instead of "Crunchy" Gels #3. Take time to understand your curls #4. Soaking wet hair BEFORE adding products #5. Stretch, Stretch, STRETCH! Remember to give her a like! 👍🏾 ^_^
@@thattiffchik heyyy👋🏾👋🏾....hope your having an amazing day🙌🏾🙌🏾✝️✝️✨✨....and Happy Easter, OUR LORD HAS RISEN, PRAISE BE TO THE ALMIGHTY💗💗☦️☦️.....God Bless you❤️❤️
Definitely agree with steps 2-5! .. I think the only step you missed was... 6: once you find the right combo for YOUR hair, stick to it! ... I'm a product junkie 🙈 but when it comes to my styling products, I've become VERY particular since I've learned what my hair loves 😉
Yes I agree and I was a product junkie I feel like I’m the lady in the line with go backs because I will return some items but yes once I found a product that works right for me it’s a winner I truly enjoy these videos too good luck on all your hair journeys as well I bless you and God bless all of us for the #healthy hair movement 🙌🏾
I've tried adding an oil to my styling process and it really changed the game. I did a wash and go after that without the oil and it was a COMPLETE fail I was so sad! Thank you so much for your tips they really help. Especially for us girls who HATE crunchy wash and gos
I just mastered my wash n go too! I use a leave-in, oil and gel. Because my hair is so fine I need to be careful of how much product I use because my hair will be weighed down.
I do LGO or LGC ! I use botanical gels (like kinky curly custard) with moisturizing agents. Using just a little oil after for that crunch. My hair thrives instead of just lco/loc method
I love how different all of our hair can be. CUstards always tend to flake for me but i love the mix of grease and gel for a wash and go. I love experimenting with my hair and i think every girl should especially curly girls. Your hair is beautiful!!!
Great video and your hair looks fab! I’ve been natural for 10 years and never had a successful wash and go until I tried the LCOG method last month. I have type 4A/B high porosity hair so I use a butter instead of an oil. I find butters provide longer lasting moisture for high porosity. I currently use a straight gel (Wetline) cause it provides the most definition. But I’m new to the “successful” wash and go game so I will start experimenting with some custards and cream gels to see if I get the same definition.
Hi Crys, thank you for the great tips!!👏🏽👏🏽 I am scared of custards, I don't want a flaky mess but I will give them a try. I have been natural for a little over a month & have not had a good wash n go yet. The front of my hair is frizzy & no definition too!! I have been using the LCOG when using a gel since I transitioned. I just tried smaller sections, keep my hair wet, used a tangle teezer brush just on the ends to clump the curls then gently raked thru it with fingers. Woohoo, I finally got my wash n go to look great & not like a puffy afro with some random curls.
Literally everything you said I understand!! You showed me how to do a proper twist out so I only rocked those. But now I’m excited to try this too!! Thank you!
I stay away from gels because they really dry out my hair. I do my wash and gos with a leave in, curling cream and olive oil to seal. I have low to medium density hair so shrinkage is my friend because it gives my hair volume and my wash and gos are very defined and last two weeks without refreshing. The front of my hair tends to be frizzy and less defined so I finger coil that section.
This video was soooooooo helpful. I struggled with wash n go’s in terms of shrinkage. With your tips, I feel like I’m on the right path to getting the perfect shape and style! 💗💗💗
I am tempted to start trying the wash and gos. Honestly I've always hated them because the name is not what it sounds. So much work and product before the "go" But my curls have been giving me a new life and sometimes I really do want to wash and go. So becoming a bit less fearful. I just need the right product combination and then I'll try it out one day
Curliecrys. I really appreciate your tutorials on natural hair. Thank you for helping me and my hair. Now I love wash and goes. Since you have been teaching me my hair has strived and it’s getting longer. Thank you again
I'm so glad that I came across this video. I have decided this year that I will be styling my hair in wash n gos more. I will definitely be implementing some of your tips in my wash n go routine. Thank you!!!❤
I absolutely Love Your Hair Crys❤😍 If possible could you do a video on how you stretch your hair and keep your Wash n Go maintained through the week please🙏🏾
These tips are very helpful. The top of my hair won't curl like the rest either, so I do small twistouts on the top and wash and go the rest, it works.
Hi Sweet it's Auntie T here. You know I am passed the 50 mark and my hair has changed. I found the best stuff for my 50 + hair. Ok, I'll but the names in later. My 50+ hair is my new adventure in my hair journey.
Your curls sis 🔥🔥🔥🔥 Even though my hair is high porosity because I’m color treated. I’m definitely going to try and implement some of these tips into my wash and go’s.
I’m a new subscriber but why was I singing the intro before the video came on. I’m definitely part of the fam! My wash and go’s poppin as of 2 weeks ago! I trust you with my hair sis. Keep it coming!
I love me some butter gels or cream gels. I apply on soaking wet hair and I'm good 👍🏿 I try to use as few products as possible, these products usually contain oils as well.
I have to say....( scuse me im hollding back some tears here😭🤣) you really hit my heart with this one....I'm coming up on my ten year natural anniversary and for the past few days I've been wanting to figure out how to make a wash and go work for ME! My hair....chile...if ever you did see a wash and NO...it was me and my mangled, matted mane...I'm talking helmet head, single strand knots as far as the eye could see and the detangling session that followed.... you'd be speechless, anyway I'm so thankful to you for posting this...I can't wait to try these tips!
Your single strand knots could be the result of letting your hair shrink up during the drying process. Maybe you could blow dry it using low heat or cold air to dry it faster so that it stays elongated. I saw a RU-vidr put her wet wash and go in a bun and leave it overnight. If your hair is long enough you can try that and blow dry it the next morning. See if it works for you to prevent knots, tangles and matting.
Sis that wash and go looks fabulous!...ok i have followed up my entire natural journey...i havent done a wash and go so im definitely gonna do the $3. Im a little nervous but im confident because of you gurl!!!..thanks for being you!
We are the complete opposite... I hate "twist outs" bc they always end up looking like 🚮😫😫😫... even after I follow your steps 😭😭😭 But my wash and gos are Bae! I LOOOOOOVE my results & how my hair looks!! 😍.. the only thing I don't really do is "stretch".. I do fluff & break the gel cast but I kinda like the shrunken look! And what is on your lips?!?!?!? It's super cute!!
Been a subscriber since october 2020 at the time i was looking for someone who would REALLLY help and give tips, advice videos, wash days, wash n gos, favourite products, favourite product combos etc. *YOU* delivered thank you sooooo much my curls appreciate u too 😂❤❤❤
This Wash n Go is GORGEOUS! I feel like when I stretch using the banding method I end up distorting the curl pattern or twist out. The bands put dents in my hair. What am I doing wrong?
Love these tips. Your hair looks beautiful!!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️Yes!!!! I started putting my products in the shower. It's amazing!!!They were very helpful.I have never done a wash n go. I love twist outs. But after seeing these tips. I will definitely be doing it. After my treatments from the dermatologist are completed. Thank you got sharing. Love and Light.❤️❤️🙏🙏☮️☮️
Thanks a lot with those diamonds tips. Because I could never do an appropriate Wash N go. Now it's gonna change the game a lot. You are my life saviour. ❤️❤️❤️❤️
I do not mind the crunch from the gel. I see that as protection to my fine curls 😂 However, how do you stretch your curls without heat?! Or minimize shrinkage during a wash and go?!
Great information! Will check out my products first and attempt this using your steps this weekend. I have the Kinky Kurly Custard which I absolutely love! Thanks, sis!
Please do a video on how to shape our hair for volume. I've noticed my hair always look thick from the back, but looking at me from the front, it's like my hair isn't thick at all 😭. I've heart shape face
My wash n go’s last so much longer with me using just 1 product on my dripping wet hair ... uncle funkys gel in a pump♥️. I have type 4, low porosity hair & my hair LOVES this stuff . The bottle also has been lasting a good little while I’m on wash n go 5(?) And I still have more left in the bottle
@@CurlieCrys it's so good!!! But, pro tip, you gotta apply to soaking wet hair. The package says this, but I tried it on damp and dry hair...epic fail. And a little goes a long way (it has excellent slip)..too much is an epic fail too.
@@CurlieCrys it’s really it for me ! Lasts a full week with good night care &&&& to refresh I can get rewet a little and my hairs lit for another 3 days if I need it to be
OMG, MY FRONT IS THE SAME!!! And I also discovered the side part!!! Nice to have confirmation. But yeah, it's a frizzy, totally different texture from the rest of my head. Bizarre. I am also doing wash n go for 2024. And I was using blue magic and then eco gel. I'd been curious about aloe vera gel and finally tried it as the leave-in and....ALOE VERA DEFINED MY FRONT FRIZZ. I was SHOOK. So looks like I'm gonna be doing aloe vera gel and then eco gel for my wash n gos in 2024!
Just to share my routine. This all happens in the shower every other day... 1. Coat hair with conditioner 2. Section and finger detangle using as much conditioner as I need 3. Rinse conditioner and shake out excess water 4. Apply ample aloe vera gel and shake out excess 5. Apply moderate amount of eco gel and shake out excess DONE Shampoo hair once a week I'm no longer "afraid" of water or "shrinkage". I can stretch if I want, but it's not a priority. The amount of breakage and shedding has DRASTICALLY decreased. Pretty convinced I'm gonna be retaining my length this year.
Your hair looks amazing as always! I love your videos and you inspired me to make a channel and document my journey as well! Oh and of course the I smashed that button!
Great tips. I have done two wash n gos so far. However, after my hair.. dry my hair becomes stiff. I will have to try some of your tips on my next wash n go.
Ah...applying product on soaking wet hair!!!! I'll have to try this. I do apply my leave-in in the shower, but the holding product, I do not. I havent mastered the wash n go's but another tip is to leave your hair alone until it fully dries. This is my issue. I'm newly natural and love to touch my hair 🤣
Love this video Crys🥰 Glad you found what works for you hopefully it will help me with this mane of mine🤞 6 years natural and I only had one good wash and go by accident 🤣😘
I tried my first wash and go with " Don't Shrink" from Aunt Jackie and I follow what you said (LCOG). It was-horrible. I had too much products and too much oil. I did everything under the shower. At the end I had absolutely no definition. I have a 4C hair type. I'm disappointed and it took me a lot of time for nothing.
@@christine1962ful Yeeesss of course... I didn't think about the products wasted just about my time lol. But it's ok, like you said I learned that it's not for me :-)
Don’t use oil….adding oil to WATER literally does not mix & it will be a dry poofy mess. Do LCG, then when you go to stretch it when it’s DRY, add a little oil. Don’t do this on sopping wet hair, the product will literally slide right off your hair. Do it on DAMP hair. I literally had the same exact issue as you, and now I do LCG-O on damp/semi-dry hair. The problem is your hair is not absorbing the water & the leave in in the beginning which is the MOST crucial step bc it’s too wet. Soak up some of the water 1st when you get out the shower, THEN add your leave-in. It’ll feel like it’s not in there, almost dry but trust me it’s in there, and then go in with your custard(or LIGHT CREAM) and gel. Please don’t use a butter cream or heavy cream, it will take light years to dry. Hope this helps❤️
@@babyg7796 u are absolutely right. i used to use the LCO method because i have low porosity hair but realized my hair was always frizzy. so i skipped the oil step one day and my hair was so defined😳😳
@@karissapearcy305 yes girl! Also if you’re low-pro try glycerin free gels & creams!!! If you live in a hot climate or really cold & dry climate(think Canada), you CANNOT use glycerin, it will literally pull too much moisture in your hair(during the hot months) and cause major POOF & FRIZZ! If it’s cold & dry it will pull the moisture out of your hair back into the atmosphere because there’s no moisture in the air again causing mad POOF & FRIZZ! I couldn’t figure out why my definition wasn’t lasting but sure enough once I switched to glycerin free products or products where glycerin was towards the bottom of the ingredients, my styles started to last 😂Almost every product has glycerin in the top 5 ingredients so I was pissedddd when I found out.
Hold up! ✋ I had to pause the video right after the aye aaaaaye because your hair is just gorgeous! Look at that growth! That health! Yeeeeeees! 🔥❤ Ok...back to the video lol
Ok so I've just switched to lcog method last night, before i even saw this video. Let me tell you, this first tip I have already proven works for me. Can't wait to try the rest.
