How refreshing to see a positive representation of a women empowering others through finance. And quite nice that we are also seeing positive reflection from a minority female too. A lot of people defiantly need to take better control of their finances. Myself sometimes included but this was a refreshing look. Especially when in the minority communities financeal management is generally poor/ Well done to all.

Anything that you pay for monthly (or going to pay for monthly), like a mobile phone account, multiply the amount by 12. Sometimes that will shock you when you realise what you pay in a year could pay for a fabulous holiday.

This is very basic, if you deep it just living below your means and having £1,000 in a savings account makes you better off than the majority of the population. People hide how broke they are with material things.

I was refused a bank account in my own name in the 70’s because I was separated from my husband and would not give the bank information about him. I went to 3 different banks before I managed to open an account. I needed this account because my employer was starting to pay our wages through a bank account. I was not asking for any overdraft or any kind of credit.

How much time does a person have to watch multiple subscriptions, ain’t that the truth. I barely have time to watch even one programme in its entirety before needing to do something else. All things financial literacy I am interested in, important for younger generations also.

It doesn't take a genius does it? Add up what your expenses are per month by actually looking at your statement, subtract that from what you earn per month and what you have left is either for enjoyment or saving, simple.

She looks minted & based in London... Most working class people in the Uk are barely getting by on mininum wage let alone 6 months of wages for an emergency... out of touch
@GossipGirl770

I think she meant 6 months worth of savings in the emergency account (20% of your salary)

The lady said build an emergency fund, not put it all in in one go. Every little helps just keep saving what you can be that little or a lot.
@CrateCrasher
@CrateCrasher 21 день назад
Not out of touch at all. These are all basic steps everyone should be doing. Non negotiable, eventually you should have a 6 month emergency fund. Watch Dave Ramsey and his baby steps for millionaires and you'll understand
@1Strawbz1

@@CrateCrasher ok so you guys try standing behind a till in co-op for 9 hours a day on mininum wage in a cost of living crisis and see how much you save and how much ur mental health declines

I'm not sure the book title is a fair choice to past authors with a pre-existing best seller called "Your money or your life" Vicki Robins
@ONEOFAKINDSISTAH
@ONEOFAKINDSISTAH 20 дней назад
Robins book was published sixteen years ago and is American although I’m sure the information is transferable. I’m familiar with Alvin Hall’s ‘Your Money or Your Life’ published in the UK in 2014. I think he had a TV series of the same name. He’s written several books on financial literacy in the UK. Bola’s book being more up to date and focused on the UK will be great for anyone but especially Gen Z who wouldn’t know of either of the books with similar titles and the title choice may have been influenced by the publisher. Regardless of the similarities my hope is that more people will educate themselves because things are getting harder for many especially the younger generations.

I don't like British accent at all. Girl, unless you were born or grew up in Britain from you were a child then understandable but if you moved there then somehow picked it up, find your original accent because British accent is very annoying (to me).
