Exhaling is a good tip, I do that when trying to paint eyes.

4:57 This doesn't seem to get covered nearly enough and yet it's so crucial. I've spent the past year learning about 40k and painting and this is only the second or third video I've seen that addresses this step. And while painting my first mini this is the cause of at least two thirds of my mistakes. Maybe it just wouldn't get views or it just seems too basic, but I wish more channels would make videos about this. Thanks for explaining it!

Agreed, it's easy to forget about the most basic things as you pregress beyond them

Old paint on the palette is just as important not to do (it turns gloopy over time even if you add back water) as using a brush that turned bad. It's sometimes hard to notice when that point is reached, but when replaced, it will feel so much easier to work with.

Love the video! Great idea to talk about things that don't get talked about enough! Even on live streams a lot of these things are happening off-cam, because other things are more important and interesting to get into the frame(s)! I will also pay attention to how I hold and brace my arms, wrists and fingers, the next time I paint. The floating wrist in particular felt like something I might not be doing enough.

Really cannot be understated how lifestyle impacts hand shake. When I was meditating, doing yoga and generally living "well" I had absolutely 0 hand shake, at any time. My nervous system was completely settled. Currently my sleeping pattern is off kilter, too much screen time and my diet is not ideal. Hands shake all the time. Coffee as well, is bad for hand shake (generally).
