Sup!
My name is Jacob McDonald and I want to welcome you to my RU-vid channel.
In this series of videos I take you through my gynecomastia surgery and post-surgery recovery journey.
My story goes like this. I developed gyno through the onset of puberty at around 12 years old and dealt with the sh*t that came with it for 15 long years.
That included various levels of bullying throughout my school years, never feeling comfortable without my shirt on and an extreme anxiety surrounding wearing anything that wasn't dark in colour because all I could ever focus on was my nipples.
It wasn't until I started going to the gym regularly at around 18 years old that I decided to do some research and figure out exactly what this was, why I had it and what I could do about it.
I eventually found out about gynecomastia surgery not long after that and due to my particular case not improving or changing at all since developing it at 12 years old I knew that if I wanted to fix this properly I would one day need to get this surgery.
The surgery was always out of reach due to the price and I also began to just live with it and accept my body. However my love for bodybuilding and training in the gym grew over the next few years and at the age of 24 I competed in my first bodybuilding show.
I can safely say that at this point I was living life without too much of a worry because I had learned to accept it which comes with age and maturity, but certainly still lived with the anxiety around wearing light coloured clothing etc.
I reduced my body fat down to single digits for the first time in my life at this point and realised that I may have what people might describe as a "minor" case of gyno but in my mind, it was even more pronounced.
I knew that if I wanted to get back on a bodybuilding stage one day that I would need to get the surgery done.
I was eventually able to find a surgeon that offered a drastically reduced price due to the surgery being covered somewhat by Medicare which is Australia's version of government subsidised health care.
I finally decided to book the surgery and in November of 2017 at 26 years of age I had the procedure done.
My recovery was a rocky one. It tested me mentally like I had never been tested before and through that I decided to bring my experience to my RU-vid channel.
That was one of the toughest things I've ever done but it did help me due to the support I received at the time and now has also gone on to help thousands of other men dealing with the same issues I faced.
I faced depression, anxiety, regret, disbelief, and many more emotions throughout the recovery process but managed to stay strong and if there is one thing I can say with the upmost confidence as I sit here today, that would be that the surgery was still worth it.
I want you to make the right decisions when it comes to choosing a surgeon, preparing your body prior to surgery and looking after it after surgery. Do what I say, not what I did.
I've made a video playlist on my RU-vid channel titled "GYNECOMASTIA" for you to find easily.
Thanks for watching my video and have a great day!

I got this surgery a few days ago and I'm suprised how easy the recovery has been. Pretty much no pain the day after the surgery and barely any brusing. I'm 30 and wish that I had this done when I was 20 or even younger. I can already see it making a huge difference in my life.

Dude, watching your videos has encouraged me so much to give surgery a shot. I'm sick and f*cking tired of living with this condition for the past 15 years. My only concern is this: I live as an expat in China and most plastic surgery clinics specialise in breast augumentation on women. The doctors I've spoken to say they feel confident the surgery will be easy and they can give me the desired results, remove the glands... and yet they havent done gyno surgery on men specifically. I'm so desperate to get this surgery done, but I also feel scared about who I trust to do it..

I got it a while ago. Successful surgery. Totally worth it. -build credit -get leaner -get a loan -pray before hand. That’s my advice. My question to you tho, do you still have bits of scar tissue? Mines very slowly but surely going away. Only I notice it

Good stuff, I subbed to you years ago because of your gyno story / advice. I couldn't afford Gyno removal surgery 3 years ago, now I'm 25 and in a much more stable financial situation, I can finally afford surgery. Usually I maintain 18% bodyfat year round, but I want to get as close to 10% bodyfat as possible before I undergo surgery. Congratulations on the growth of your channel.

Talk to the surgeon, if they are doing lipo too, he'll want your BF higher, not lower!
@Rosefinity
@Rosefinity 2 года назад
@@anthonyarmstrong7313 This is very interesting, most people say that the surgeon has less work the lower the BF is. How come higher BF is better if they do lipo?
@anthonyarmstrong7313
@anthonyarmstrong7313 2 года назад
@@Rosefinity i spoke to rick silverman who has done a lot of these on some pretty high profile athletes. He explained it like this. Fat cells do not multiple they grow, its easier to contour during lipo. He works on a lot of body builders, so he doesnt want guys in single digits coming in. Im not sure about super high BF something over 20. He likes his patients to "eat donuts" before the procedure.
@anthonyarmstrong7313
@anthonyarmstrong7313 2 года назад
He's doing mine in about 6 weeks. Let me know if you have questions, but i thought the same thing. The big thing is medication, no alcohol, no nicotine or blood thinners 6 weeks before or after surgery.
@Rosefinity
@Rosefinity 2 года назад
@@anthonyarmstrong7313 I'm so happy you are getting it done. I haven't even gone for an appointment yet to meet a surgeon. I have been doing research and I read that if the surgeon doesn't remove the entire gland, you risk the chance of the gyno growing back. But on the flip side, when surgeons remove the entire gland, sometimes patients are left with a crater deformity, which looks horrible as well. The solution seems to be to remove the entire gland, and if there is a crater, to fill it up with fat. So what is your surgeon going to do for you in terms of removing the entire gland or leaving a bit of it inside?

Question to anyone who's had gyno surgery: Did your surgeon remove the entire gland or leave a small amount behind the nipple to avoid indentation?
