I've had 2 of Barba's guitars a 2002 and 2003 both blancas and a 2014 Graciliano negra cedar top/brazilian. 3 of the best guitars I've had the pleasure of owning and recording in the studio with. Great video. Thanks for giving the smaller shops in Andalucia the exposure they deserve.

I had the pleasure of meeting Valeriano when I was in Arcos about 2002 and, being a pro guitar player, I met a few flamenco guys and was overawed by their playing. They all said go to Bernal's taller in Algodonales and buy the basic Prodigio model - he opened up especially on a Sunday and then we all went back to his fantasic house on the hill at Olvera for wine & snacks, he was very funny and I treasure the memory. I learnt to play flamenco a little and bought two more of his guitars from his son. Thanks for posting, I'm very fond of the Spanish people and especially Andalucia.

De Andalucía. Faltaría por poner para mi gusto a Antonio Marin Montero y Manuel Bellido.

Hi Pedro! Antonio Marín Montero was born in 1933 and is not building guitars anymore by himself (actually, I don´t know if he's still alive). His nephews are the ones building guitars now. Same thing for Manuel Bellido, he was born in 1939 and is not working anymore. Jesús and Mauricio Bellido are the ones building guitars now for the Manuel Bellido workshop, and by the moment, are not on the 5 Top Andalusian Flamenco Guitar Luthiers List, although they are on the Top 10 :-)

Un instrumento lleno de Magia. Muy interesante la estructura interna de una guitarra, toda una composición geométrica. Gracias por este regalo lleno de sensibilidad y buena música 💜

man you're forgetting, hermanos conde and manuel reyes, which are by far the best builders

Hello! I appreciate your comment, and although the workshops you mention are excellent, my video is about the 5 best ACTIVE ANDALUSIAN flamenco guitar luthiers. The Conde brothers are in Madrid, and Manuel Reyes died and his workshop has been closed for years without any successor to continue his work. Best regards!

@@ZilaChannel well that's true but anyways manuel Reyes son is still doing guitars and they are the same as his father since he started doing them with him over twenty years ago, and Felipe and Mariano conde are still doing very good things in Madrid. Hope this adds to the info here 😁

@@oscarriestra68 Hi Oscar! Manuel Reyes Sr. was a genius in the construction of flamenco guitars. The luthiers that I mention in my video are also great artists and highly renowned artisans. I have no references about Manuel Reyes Jr.'s guitars since his father died, but I found the address and contact phone number (I hope it's current). I leave the link here in case someone is interested: www.andalucia.org/es/cordoba-ocio-y-diversion-compras-manuel-reyes. As for the Hermanos Conde workshop, as I mentioned before, they are from Madrid since its inception, when Domingo Esteso founded it. The workshop is still active thanks to a branch of the family after the dissolution of the partnership between the successor brothers. If I find any other information of interest, I will not hesitate to include it. My intention with this video is to promote, within my limited possibilities, a sector that has been seriously affected by the current situation, almost totally dependent on exports and with losses of more than 80%. Thank you very much again for your interest and I am here for any questions or requests that arise. All the best and don't stray too far, because I'm sure you'll like the video I'm preparing next ;-)

@@ZilaChannel Manuel Raimundu? I s he not eligible? (I'm a UK player... Forgive me if I'm being ignorant) - But I felt certain that he builds with a 100% Andalusian philosophy. Workshop in Valencia... I don't know which region that is... Bless you, great video

@@blacktoothfox677 Hi there! Manuel Raimundo is a great Spanish guitar luthier, but he is from Valencia (Spain's East Coast) not from Andalusia (South Spain), and my video is about the Best Andalusian Flamenco Guitar Luthiers. Flamenco was born in Andalusia. There's a huge difference between Spanish guitar and, specifically Flamenco guitar. Even though Manuel builds fantastic Spanish acoustic guitars, there are better luthiers from the classic flamenco school. I leave here Manuel's website, which is also in English, so anybody can access his workshop. Best regards and thanks for playing our music and traditions! PD: If there's anyone here with doubts or difficulties finding luthiers or specific workshops, don´t hesitate to ask! I'll be glad to help! guitarrasraimundo.com/en/

Wonderful video! I would love to know who is playing the music in the background. I tried to use my phone app to identify the artist(s) but was unsuccessful. If you could provide that info it would be awesome. 😀

Hi there! I would love to be able to help you, but most Andalusian flamenco music is spontaneous, that is, there are very few studio recordings, since they are made in tablaos, local festivals and competitions, and corresponding festivities. Let's hope that the Flamenco sound library grows far beyond the great masters with new composers and guitarists who cross our borders. Greetings!

Francisco Manuel Diaz .... his children, Victor and Francisco, Jesus de jimenez, Andrés domínguez, Peña Vargas etc etc .... your list has neither head nor tail. Who says which guitar player is better or worse? Does Valeriano make better guitars than Jesus de Jimenez? You should change the title and put as well as: "my list of the best Andalusian guitar players" lutheria is an art, not a competition, the guitars speak, and what fascinates one guitarist, may not be good for another...
