I bought the Snowflake when it first came to the US. They gave me a huge discount to buy it. Never thought it would be so popular. It is probably my favorite watch.
I have two grand seiko watches. My favourite is the white birch, spring drive SLGA009. Great watch. The white birch dial, 5 day power reserve and perfect accuracy. Automatic. I also have the SLGH013, hi beat. Lovely dial and different movement.
Great to see you back making videos!! I have to admit the 62gs models are something else!! Winter is my favorite, I just wish they added a cap on the seconds hand like the other variants have
Great to see you here. Congratulations on your channels continued success. Would love to hear more of your feedback on future videos. Wishing you the best. Rob
Great video Rob, I'm lucky to have been able to buy both the Snowflake and the Cherry Blossom great watches. I'm now considering what to purchase next as a retirement present to myself. I do like the Skyflake, I've got time to think and might pop to the boutique in Bond St to have a look. Seasons greetings 🙂
Hi Paul. Hope you had a great festive period. Great choice of watches you have there, congratulations. May sure to check out the Omiwatari alongside the Skyflake. Could be a good option given you have the Snowflake dial in white.
Love the Shunbun & Omiwatari they’re on the list, when I win the lottery 😉 The white birch looks awesome too, but is a little too big when I tried it on (perhaps in 38mm?).
great summary of a fantastic brand...which would be more fantastic for those of us with smaller wrists IF the bracelets could ALL have FEMALE end links....can you pass this up the line to GS HQ please Rob???.....female end links would widen the appeal of these watches enormously in my humble opinion, no negatives for big wristed guys (or gals) but deffo some of the watches wear WAY bigger due to the lack of FEL's......
Many thanks. Beautiful content . I wish you could make a review for the beautiful SBGY 009 . Many thanks in advance. With great love and appreciation Nizar
Thanks for your feedback, Edwin. Noted! We did explore that option, I think Watches of Switzerland have their hands on them all now though. Hopefully we can do something collaboratively. Wishing you a great holiday period.
Cherry Blossom and Snowflake! Was torn between these two for my first GS but the case on the 413 just shaded it for me. Would love to see a Snowflake dial in a 44GS
Congratulations on your watch, its a great choice! I do like the green dial on the Bamboo too. I often wear the Rikka as I like the green/gold combination.
Its a stunning piece. The majority of GS customers buy Spring Drive, given its exclusivity and impressive craftsmanship. I like the sound of some Spring Drive elegance pieces with a classic ivory dial.
I have 2 x SBGF's (with the fabulous but little known 8J56 quartz movement) and a SBGR053....all 37mm but still with a sizeable 49mm lug to lug....female end links could reduce this by at least 2-3mm.....SIZE REALLY DOES MATTER :)
The SBGA413 scratches way too easily. I'm not sure why GS didn't use Diashield to protect against scratching. I sold this watch because of the scratching and I am done with Grand Seiko.
Несколько раз чуть не купил GS, но всё время в последний момент что то останавливало, какой то внутренний голос… «зачем тебе часы, выглядящие, как часы пенсионера»)
I like titanium, a 5-day power reserve and the indicator on the back, but that means SLGA019, and that is very expensive, so I'll stick with my Kinetics for now. Plus, I'm curious to see what's announced in Geneva in April.
I want to add a Grand Seiko to my small collection, preferbly a Spring Drive but for some reason the models that I am interested in always comes with a deal breaker for me. 1. SBGM221 - water resistance only 30m. I will be afraid to wear this while playing with my kids. I believe its very easy for GS to improve the water resisitance of any of their models... 2. Snowflake - too big and chunky when I tried it on. 3. Omiwatari - Price and Water resistance 30m. 4. White Birch - too expensive compare to Snowflake or Shunbun IMO. 5. Shunbun - I can't get pass the hint of pink when I tried it on while "Winter" with same dial texture but is too dull. Still waiting for the right one 😬
Don't sleep on their quartz versions...I have the SBGX263 and it gets a lot of wrist time! The perfect dimensions and Zaratsu polishing sealed the deal for me.
Hi. People often want to go for a Spring Drive first, being an exclusive movement. Great to hear of your enthusiasm, and also your commitment to finding something thats right for you. What I would say to the above is not to worry about the spec of 30m water resistance. I haven't heard of anyone having issues with daily wear. I own a couple myself and I worry more about the leather straps on my watches than the watch itself regarding water. Rob
Never seen anyone with such pointy teeth before. Very dangerous looking fella. Personally a big fan of the 37mm handwound elegance watches, we need more of those on the bracelets.
Which is your favorite in that design? We decided to go for that style for our European exclusive this year. Not to worry, I'm not in the habit of biting people :)
@@GrandSeikoUK I'm not such a big fan of the creamy dials, but then again i have not seen them in person. sgbw305, 283 are my favourites. Some day i would love to own a 283 on the 305's bracelet. And if i had complete control, i would transplant a blued seconds on it as well to just melt into that dial. That would be the dream dress watch. ;))))
