I saw the first part of this comment as it was the top of the upvotes when I first watched this video - I stopped from reading more and just braced myself thinking okay maybe I can weather it - then it got to the part and knowing everything else - damn that hit me too, that is freaking hard not to get hit by that one without having to wipe your eyes.
@@chunkk5426 Awww, gotta luv you kids. Never tasted anything close to death. Prob never will except a family member dying from cancer…but never anything en masse
Yea, that was definitely the most emotion I’ve ever felt from any of his stories (aside from intrigue in the other stories he reads). My heart dropped hearing what happened. Yet another reason to be grateful every day that we have it better than so many others.
Story #4 - I can’t believe it’s been almost SEVENTEEN years since the day after Christmas/Boxing Day Tsunami… 😔 That was such a scary, horrifically unimaginable tragedy! No one around the entire world could even begin to wrap their minds around it all. I’ve heard so many tales brought straight out of the worst nightmares imaginable to stories of heroism and survival… It took such a long time to get footage from the areas anywhere near the hardest hit places… it was 2004 and there just wasn’t enough technology to get videos out of those places to the rest of the world in a timely manner! God Bless all those who lost their lives and their loved ones! I can’t even begin to imagine what it was like, even for all those who witnessed it all and didn’t get hurt… I pray there is never another colossal tsunami that steals so many lives for the rest of eternity! God Bless our world and everyone on it!🙏♥️✝️🇺🇸🌎 Love from Texas ♥️🤠🌴
Yeah that story made me tear up. With the way things are going I don’t think thoughts and prayers will do much good in preventing it though, I think if anything we are heading g towards bigger and badder disasters. I feel humanity has made its bed. I fear our future is going to have much more of these situations. Not to mention the forest fires and all the other disasters. I don’t want to think to about it…it’s actually scares me to my core. I just hope we can develop the technology that helps earn or save people.
It was so horrifying. I had a classmate who was there, in Thailand, on holiday with her family, thankfully they all survived but she developed pretty severe PTSD. I remember that I had a party at my house and a song came on, and I guess it reminded her of what happened because she broke down crying in a full on panic attack. I felt so bad for her.
Omg my heart .. I love this channel but the tsunami had me in tears . What a brave man . I know if it was me and my children, I would have done the same ..
The conversation between the mother and son in Sri Lanka just had me in tears while delivering maill on my route. I can't imagine how tough that would be. 😔
Story 4: i literally stopped what i was doing and just sat down and listened to that story, i'm so sorry they had to endure something like that, i'm glad you both made it and are safe
Wow like so many others story # 4 is heart breaking that made me cry! Having 4 children and just living through Ian-it is something that you would do for your child. Mother Nature is very beautiful and yet very scary at times. My heart goes out to so many that lived through and lost someone. 🙏🏻
Good lord... I was listening to this at work, and story 4 put me into complete tears.... Such a tragic disaster, and god rest those that lost their lives. And angels watch over those that survived. Bless you all.
I can’t imagine being in the son’s place in story 4. I feel like I’d sooner drown with my mom than I would let her go, but I don’t have a husband or kids yet so I can’t say I know how he felt. Either way I hope his mom got a medal or something the moment she entered the gates of Heaven. God bless her and may she Rest In Peace. Prayers towards her family, OP, and his wife too.
I've never cried during a Lets Read video, but Story #4 did me in. Literally "hot lips, stuffy nose, tears spilling out"- crying. Great set of stories this go around.
Thank you for this amazing narration. Our family comes from Sri Lanka and your narration brought back some painful memories. Our village in the East was one of the worst hit. Entire families and homes were gone. May all the victims of the Tsunami rest in peace. 🙏
I found this gem of a channel over a year ago. Joel, you are one hell of a narrator! I think the best. How you got thru story number 4 without choking is just short of a miracle. 1st time ever Let's Read had me crying. God Bless the old woman and her son. God Bless the writer for standing up and being a good man. It helps restore my faith in humanity. Thank you for sharing your story.
These were REALLY good and unique stories. The one about the plane crash in Africa was so good. The one about the tsunami was heart breaking. I love these stories. All of them were well written, too.
Hey, Let’s Read. I love your videos. I’m a truck driver who works the night shift, and listening to your narrations gives me the perfect entertainment I crave while out on the road. I discovered your channel a few months back, and instantly became hooked. Your videos have helped a job that can be tedious be so much more enjoyable. Thank you so much for your work!
God i dont remember when i last cried but story 4 had me with tears in my eyes and gasping. It's so heartbreaking. I can't even imagine if I had to do what that man had to do. Theres no words.
The moment a cop scolds you because they are the worried kind of angry at you is a thing that happened to my aunt once when she let door-to-door salesmen into her home while she was alone and they refused to leave...
Wow been listening to stories for 7+ years never has one actually ever made me cry but that fourth one got me I love my mother so much I can’t imagine how hard that was to do that for him
My favorite time of the day is listening to these stories. They're always so interesting lol u got me crying over here tonight tho story 4 was heartbreaking
I went to Köln in the late 90s. I too went to sample some good ole German beer. (Gosh darn is it fab). My friend and I found a little cellar bar and we were the only 2 English in there. I had learned to say “Zwei Biere bitte”. That made the locals laugh. After more and more “zwei biere” the locals decided to start buying us these little bottles of ice cold schnapps. While laughing their asses off. My golly they were lovely. We had a great time. Then it was time to go. Walked up the stairs out of the door into the crisp winter night and promptly vomited down some poor sods BMW. So 2 horrors occurred the next morning. 1. The BMW. And 2. My Bloody Head. So while I say I have been to Köln, I do not remember much of it at all. I believe there is a really nice cathedral there. “Absolute ball ache”. Best expression ever
That's Cologne for you. Born here, raised around Cologne, moved back into the city at 19. Loads of lovely people (I don't drink, though 😁), most of them very accepting of everyone. It's become even more colorful and multi cultural in the last few years with Turkish bakeries next to an African shop, a Polish supermarket across a Russian mom and pop store, a Vietnamese restaurant opposite of the pizza place. And between it all are the traditional German bakeries, but her shops, bookstores, and a brewery. Not to forget the gazillion of kebab houses. 😁 Yeah, we have a very large cathedral over here as well, and a quaint "Altstadt" with all the beer houses, pubs, jazz clubs, cocktail bars, and more right alongside the river where small ships (or large boats?) offer scenic rides. Glad you liked it here. 😊
All your stories and the way of narration is addicting.your stories made my day . Its really creating a creepy world while listening to your stories.while going through hard situation it helps me to forget all my pains.Thank you with all my heart.👍👍👍
"I survived a plane crash 👁️👄👁️" Pffft please, you survived a very intense emergency landing. Terrifying? Yes. As dramatic as this lady described? Not in my experience. Although, I admit if I was exposed to a pack of Giggling hyenas and someone was like "s'all good I have a handgun" then I would probably freak out.
Can't get over the tourist in story 3 doing a whole trip to South Africa without realising she was visiting the Kruger not the Serengeti. The Serengeti is in TANZANIA ffs its not even close.
Joel. That Scary Vacatoon you just released must be one of the most interesting of your many stories. Bringing in real life Tsunami and Pablo Escobar and the downsize of a Safari by air really made them terrifyingly realistic. Yet strangely relaxing sitting in my cosy armchair in the U.K thanking God for my good fortune in so far escaping such terrible experiences. I loved the ironic humour aswell. So understated. Thank You Carol
Joel, sometimes I think there are others but you reign as narrator supreme. I find myself holding my breath and tending up, riding adrenaline waves and then letting it all out in a sigh based on just your tone and pauses. I've listened to all your videos since the beginning and you were a real obvious talent when you started but you've molded and refined that which you had into pure craftsmanship. Incredible
I can't imagine how horrifying it must be to have been there during the tsunami tragedy. I watched the movie based on that disaster called The Impossible and the portrayal was already heartbreaking to me.
There's birthday's and motorbike tests getting passed and everything in my house today. Well the bike test wasn't actually in the house. And now we got this upload. Wooooha!
To the women that enjoyed probably the closest thing to an adventure you will ever go through in your life. You survived not out of shear luck but a pilot that knew his job to the bottom of his heart. Flying is no doubt inbedded in him to the core. Your very lucky you ended up with him as a pilot. Not to many are so in tune with there bird that they can land in that kind of situation with out there being some sort of fatality. You were blessed that day. And him taking a nap haha. He knows his home and as you know hyenas are scavangers haha. Of course they came to such a clatter. They were sure that kind of scene is a dinner call. Lol
Thank you sooo much for always uploading new content always on time when you do I know I’m not the only who feels this way when i say keep up with the amazing work Let’s Read the best channel and dedicated individual/ man on here period 😂❤️❤️😌😍❤️🥰🥰😝
The first story flashed me back to the time I was visiting Hamburg with a guy who didn’t drink but did smoked weed. I rarely partake but of course this time I did with some guys we met at our hostel. Of course it wasn’t weed and I found my self in a train station at some point convinced I was homeless with a complete different set of memories. When it was all done (I vaguely remember some Russian guy getting me back to my hostel) I notice I had no money and other things were missing 😩
It's always a good day when a let's read video comes out. Still don't know why I choose to listen to these in bed, it's no surprise I get night terrors! ❤️
