I'm going with SHIELD hiring Taskmaster, as he's worked for them before (and if you believe them, he's always working for them). Peter's parents working for SHIELD could also be why Taskmaster was sent after Spidey, they want to keep an eye on him to honor his parents, but also because he'd make a damn good asset. Sandman is stuck in the vial, Peter says this in the clip when you find it. It's basically the grain that holds his consciousness. Gonna say any other villains were either in the Raft, Rikers, or in hiding and didn't want to get caught or sick during the chaos. I agree with your assessment that the Defenders (DD, Cage, Jones, and Iron Fist) were all out there protecting neighborhoods. I would love to have some hero cameos like in Web of Shadows (not nearly as many but the heroes mentioned here), but as side missions taking out some villain.

Something to add to ‘Where Are The Other Heroes?” is Doctor Strange. The Sanctum Sanctorum is in that game and Spidey swings by and says “That place gives him the chills. I wonder who lives there.” type of thing. Paraphrasing. But it implies he's never been inside and with eight years of being Spider-Man, has never met Doctor Strange. Side note I would love for Insomniac to make a Doctor Strange game.

For the Sandman, that vile has "spec of sand that holds his soul" it's comic references. As for the tech, some of the sticky notes reference Reed Richards and Tony Stark so they may have helped but a big thing with spidey is how he puts his spider duties before his Peter ones (like in the first scene when goes after fisk instead of looking @ the bills slid under his door) so he's more than likely put any money towards his tech which is why he's late on rent. My question: does taskmaster know Peter Parker is Spiderman? Whenever you do his tasks he's always somewhere watching if you look for him but the story in between them he sets you up to find the tasks so how often is he watching him, could it be enough to catch him unmasked? I ask cause he said he "deserves to be poor" as if he's aware of his financial situation but that's a Pete problem not spider one

Maybe in the 2nd game there will be a side mission that'll lead to taskmaster which he will study Peter's symbiote/arm moves or as miles with his venom abilities and hopefully reveal who hired him

I love the “where are the villains” mystery got all three villains of the 2nd game before it was released. That’s some foreshadowing.

I think AIM hired task master Peter did mention them in the game and have the money. My favorite thing about the amazing Spider-Man movies was the story about Peter's parents. I do hate a lot of spiderman TV shows and movies never talk about them.

I think Otto already helped us answer the Peter Affording Tech question. Otto needed something to work on his machinery but they couldn't find it, so Peter made something similar out of something else with a toothbrush.

Storywise I think Doc Ock hired Taskmaster as he was well aware of how useful Peter would have been to his cause. (Six figures may have been hinting at the formation of the Sinister Six)

Sequel came out and I have some updates and theories about the whereabouts of the other heroes, strange is… somewhere and I definitely think he was dealing with some other threat during the main plot because Wong is mentions him but we never see or hear from strange himself. As for the fantastic four, I have no clue what they were doing but they exist! And wolverine is getting his own entire game and I couldn’t be more excited. Edit: it’s also funny that all the villains you pictured who were absent were present in the sequel

His gear came from octavius industries like the suit even Otto was fine with him. Most of them were just ideas he brought to life while working there. The impact webbing was done by Otto. The trip mine he found in Mr negative's trash disposal company, the electric webbing came from Jefferson Davis' stun gun.

tbh they should add an easter egg in Spider-Man 2 where during the night you can occasionally see Daredevil or Moon Knight perched on top of a building off in the distance in their respective area but they move on to a different area and despawn when you get too close

I agree with most of your points, but as for Taskmaster, while it wasn't outright said it was heavily implied that Norman / Silver Sable hired him to test his strengths n weaknesses n keep him occupied so spidey wouldn't get in his way.

1. No one cares about Peter's parents and the whole plot of them being S.H.I.E L D. agents and later the plot of their decoys sent by Chameleon is liked by no one. 2. The Avengers are in the West Coast and Daredevil is mostly likely dealing with the Hand which usually leads him being outside the country. 3. Chameleon is probably in Spider-Man 2 since he is Kraven's half brother. Mysterio is in Spider-Man 2 since he is shown in the trailer. Dr Connors hasn't become the Lizard in years and has just been himself because his family left him after the first time he transformed into the Lizard. I asked someone who played the demo of the game and said that you find this out in Connors' house. 4. He had access to technology in Octavius' lab. In general that's never been important because when he was a teenager he was able to built web-shooters. 5. Whoever it is, it's one of the usual evil organisations, those being A.I.M., HYDRA or the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants. It absolutely is not the Thunderbolts because they are not the kind to take initiates by such means.

1. What happened to the Parkers?: Straight forward, they were killed in a mission. 2. Where are the other heroes?: They are around, i kinda assumed Daredevil to be the one to start Fisk on his downfall prior to the prologue. 3. Where are the other villains?: Mysterio we know is gonna be in SM2, and its theorized Sandman is as well. 4. How does Spider-Man afford his tech?: He doesnt. Its said in backpacks and in the story that he takes and repurposes villain gear or random tech he finds. 5. Who hired Taskmaster?: Also thougbt this was straight forward. It can be assumed to he AIM, since they dont care about New York and would allowed it to be blown up. They know SM is powerful, they want to have him.

My thought is the reason he’s poor is because he spends all his money on spider stuff

In the prequel comic for Spider-Man 2 Peter does bring up Frank Castle aka The Punisher being in the Insomniacverse/Gamerverse as after him and Miles stop Tarantula Peter mentions that Yuri Watanabe aka Wraith is coming back to continue her one-woman massacre against all criminals regardless if they minor criminals, major criminals, arrested criminals, or reformed criminals like Felicia Hardy aka Black Cat, and Miles's Uncle Warren Davis aka Prowler and that her and Punisher despite seemingly having a similar motive, and a similar mindset they are different in that unlike Wraith Punisher tries to avoid getting innocent people caught in the crossfire, and tries to avoid actively attacking and pissing off the cops and other heroes/heroines despite disagreeing with them on their stance concerning crime.

In one of the collectibles, Peter says that he tried to cure the Lizard but it didn't work. Meaning Connors was still Lizard back then, which I don't get because we definitely see Connors as a human in that post credit scene.

5:06 i think before working for otto he worked at the daily bugle, and put most his money towards his tech and suit during highschool and college, then worked for otto afterwards.

5:15 if you listen in on doctor Octs conversations about Peter they explain how he is so resourceful when it comes to cobbling together tech and most of the his weapons and tech gadgets aren’t completed until he has full access to lab and story you see him cobble up and make most of his gadgets through the game using the stun gun for electronic webs, etc, but understand knowing how he gets most of the spider eye moving things would be cool, but we see people in life achieve the same results with 3D printing and circuitry.

Villains that exist in this universe They are: Swarm,Tarantula,Crime Master/Big Man,Jackal,The Rose,Sin Eater,Hobglobin,The Enforcers,Morbius,Man-Wolf,Alistair Smythe And finally Chameleon I hope that in DLC and future games they will be explored and placed like and Bye!

Asking where other heroes and villains are in any single hero story always seemed iffy to me, because I say it ends up with someone asking too many questions that honestly just amount to "Why didn't they take the easy route and just ask the most powerful person they know to fix their problems?" It destroys the purpose that all these books, shows, and movies try to tell you, which is a story. A story of inspiration, of love, of just a really cool set up, and trying to pick it apart at such minuscule details ends up defeating the point of someone just wanting to tell a cool story, or in this case, giving players a really cool *Spider-Man* experience

Considering how Norman was experimenting with Spiders, trying to replicate Spidey's powers I would definitely throw my hat in with Oscorp hiring Taskmaster too

Honestly, if I was Peter, I would have at least tried to get a little more info about this "organization" before declining outright. It would at least be nice to know who's got their eye on you, even if you want to decline on principal.

On the part "a company that hired taskmaster", gotta say that suits "Beyond" nicely but I think the comic wasn't out when the game first launch. I can't be sure since I'm french and we got the french edition way later than the original but that could be it.

The Taskmaster theory is very interesting. My theory is that it was the Avengers who hired him. But hear me out on this. The Taskmaster in the game is not the real Taskmaster. It's problebly somebody who is posing as Taskmaster. Some nameless rando who the Avengers hired to take on the Taskmaster identity and pose as a threat to Spider-Man.

Peter's parents died in the plane crash he mentioned. It's not what happened that he wants to know, it's what they were like, and what all they did. He said "I can't tell anyone they were secret agents" which indicates he found that out, and confirmed the death. His parents' whereabouts doesn't seem to be a question in my opinion.

Other than taskmaster clearly working for AIM and all the rest of these are easily explainable

One other mystery that comes to mind is when spideys fighting the demons for the first time in fisks museum he says he’s fought specters but not ghosts. I don’t think they ever tell us who these specters he’s fought are but if anyone knows please tell me

Point #4 is indirectly referenced in the gameplay: He gets new stuff after beating bad guys, so he loots them. Also Dumpster diving, charity rallies and flea markets. Oh, and scrapyards, you have no idea of how much of a treasure is hidden in scrapyards, especially nowadays with electronic components in car being more advanced.

Okey heard me out. Taskmaster was hired by Sable International. Before we faced Taskmaster, he stuck ourselves in a similar net that the one Silver Sable used when she meet Spider-Man for the first time.

I willing to bet the way Peter gets his tech is that he uses most of his pay for his tech. Hence the reason he isn't able to pay rent.

Shield sounds more plausible, I believe Taskmaster trained some of their agents and you know Shield specializes in the grey area, doing dirt for the greater good so maybe its them.

Isomniac should have done the avengers game without the live service bullshit and make that a genuine AAA game with a good story. Their stories are top notch. I would like to see them working on an avengers game

To answer your question about his tech, I’m not sure if the same applies to this version of Peter, but in the main continuity, Tony Stark(or Reed Richards, can’t remember who right now lol) has stated that in terms of engineering high-tech equipment from scrap, is quite possibly the smartest person in the world.

Either he prepared it months ago before the first mission before we take him down because he was prepared to flee and not be followed etc. Orrrrrr The mission you had to save his men from the demons cuz I believe Task master shows up later in the game after that mission and Fisk wants control and wants to remove Spider-Man so he hired Fisk. Or maybe Chameleon did so Task can get all his moves and learn all he can bout him so the chameleon can mimic him
