I remember my first day playing Fallout 76, someone in level 250 came running to me and had area mic on and told me to stop moving I thought he was going to absolutely obliterate me(I was in Level 3) and he dropped ammo, stims, disease cure, and a toy bear so in memory and honor to him I have that bear displayed close to my wall of firearms it really inspired me to try the game out and honestly it was worth it!
Same story but for me it was a heavily modified silence 10MM I was given by a high level. I still have it and keep it in a display renaming it, The Gift.
That's really cool! There's a good community for sure. When I started, I purposely played the first 50 levels solo, used only what I could find, and wouldn't accept "donations" as it were. It was a good challenge =)
I guess the problem is there's no way to really know from the game what's overcharging and what's not. There's those websites that purport to calculate the value of weapons and never agree with one another, but nothing tells you about the value of plans, camp items, aids, etc. You can look around at other players vendors but there's no way of knowing what's actually selling for the prices listed and what's not because you can't see purchase data from other player vendors and you can't see what other players have purchased. I use the rule to halve what an NPC vendor would sell a thing for when it's an item an NPC vendor/gane vending machine sells. But some items aren't which gets tricky. Also ammo, I sell for 1 cap a piece which is far less than the half rule and it sells. So I'm considering experimenting with 2 caps a piece to see if people will pay it. I don't think people should get mad/frustrated are people experimenting with prices to see what the market will and won't pay for a thing.
@@tjmarx This right here, adjust prices until it sells. Basic supply and demand, if it sells to fast increase price, if it sells to slow decrease price. One of the best indicators you might be undervaluing something is if a player comes in and takes multiple copies of it, be it serums or plans. They aren't using all of them themselves, they are going to stuff them back into their own vendor and make a profit. That's all you can do, since the games values certainly aren't correct or I'd have players taking all my 5cap Ultracite plans
There's so little worth buying with caps that people will pay silly amounts for plans. It's not like they take up much stash weight so no real reason to sell them for cheap.
If we're ever in the same sever, look out for BFGhunter2. Usually south of the power armor spawn in the medical lab but north west of the recreation town, vender is outside the lower end of the house, grab as many mutfuit as you want, i normally price it at 1 cap per 100 and feel free to take from the farm, just keep in mind the inside of the base is trapped to high hell with spiked boards so stick to the outside. It isnt anti player, it's anti mole rat. I have had way too many spawn inside the base to find it amusing anymore
I remember when 76 first dropped, it was pretty toxic, but the toxic people left when they couldn't really grief other players. Since I've come back after a long time away I've run into ZERO problem players, thanks for keeping the community friendly.
I remember being scared to join public teams when they first introduced them because people would: join, see where my camp was, leave, and finally go to my camp and destroy it.
I find these Camps which are way up in the mountain or floating. They lure people in with all their atom shop purchases and then move their camp so you can fall and lose your loot. (lel I always just leave the server when that happens) So there still definitely are some troll players in the game.
I just started last month coming from the smite community which is league of legends level toxic and it’s so refreshing let me tell you even my gf said I’m noticeably in a better mood
LoL for real though, it always makes me smile when people just wave saying hi and I'll always return it. The other day a low level (80) in my own team see me (600) in EN and stand in front of me just to wave lolol such a weird situation but I still wave back before going back to deal with the Super Mutants
@@Kato797 it grants a random stat boost or other benefit for a few hours or something, and 5 or so can be active at the same time. You don’t need others around to gain benefit from them, it’s just helpful to have a pile of people around who can benefit as well. If one person pops a box before as event, with others around, they often join in, and a dozen people might get a pile of benefits from a few people popping a few items each.
I like to use the random table in the middle tent of all the workbenches and stash boxes at nukaworld. I just drop my free dufflebag of loot and be on my way.
Some guy a few years ago dumped almost 300 stimpacks in a blue suitcase at one of the Trainstations. I still haven't run out of those yet! Literally *WHO* has such an ungodly amount of stimpacks that they do that?
I put on a stealth suit and followed around brand new vault dwellers and helped them kill mobs and just jumped from roof to roof just to mess with them a little. I try to give people stories to tell to friends.
It stems from most people coming to 76 after already having played other Fallout single player games like 4 or New Vegas where they are used to being on their own and not grifing other people. That said, this surprised the devs. Originally they had thought other players would be as instantly hostile as the NPC raiders are, attack on sight, destroy your camp. That almost never happened except in rare cases that were patched out over time.
if only it had same care n consistancy as zenimax gives eso, this game would be huge, but it is what it is n I get bored rly quick playing 76, world still seems empty, no true endgame, no pvp battlegrouds or raids, textures mostly brown, blue n yellow, wish there were auto generated random encounters like in f1/2
I’m a very introverted person so the idea of playing an online game with other people in an open world was a little intimidating for me. But most of the other players on this game were fantastic and always helpful. Now that I’m way down the road I’m having a blast doing the same for others. Awesome online community.
Always wanted to play, but Vigor and Day Z players destroyed me when I was a noob...but so far, THIS game's community has been 'legendary'..it helps lower level players when you're not just pounced on...thanks..
Having played this game since beta, these are 100% unspoken rules. The community has been super friendly imo because it got so much hate and the few of us who continued to play when it was seemingly dead just want everyone to experience what we have and have fun too
Yeah most people are good as gold in this game. Recently I've come across a few doughnuts who spam nukes in events, even when 20 people are emoting angry faces......I don't understand people who want to purposely ruin other people's games just because they want to play a certain way (although I don't believe they really enjoy it, they just want to piss people off and get off on it)
@@benturner3458 had a guy on a surf account come to my camp and just start shooting everything. And my new player friends and kept killing them so i shot at him and he ended up killing me. How is it fun to people to greif new players to the point where they dont want to play anymore?
@@Latvijas_Amēlija because I think there's a lot of people out there that aren't wired the same way as most of us. They don't really have much empathy for others and they suffer from a form of solipsism where they honestly don't really feel like anyone outside of their own periphery actually exists. It's like we're all NPC's in this person's life game. So people like that don't give a shit about ruining your game because the enjoyment they get from thinking they have pissed you off trumps everything else. I had some guy on radiation rumble the other day, who wore power armor and used stealth boys. He stood in the entry point for all the ghouls and sat in Stealth, waiting for people to accidentally hit him while trying to complete the event, just so he could kill everyone and fk the event up. Honestly I'd have paid a hundred pound there and then to punch the kid in his muggy little face. And it would have been money well spent too.....
Great idea for a video. FYI, your first one, allowing others to tag the legendary enemies used to be the rule but now, proximity is the only requirement and even that is pretty loose. Tagging is no longer necessary. This was a great improvement among many that bethesda has implemented in the game in the last year or two. The game is better than ever right now IMO.
Exactly, that and finally getting rid of the legacies. The people that used them as crutches and complained about them being removed and thus left the game was just about the only toxic part of the playerbase that are now gone for good
I still prefer people to tag them and do the "come here" emote... since the loot sharing with legendaries I've noticed that a lot of people will try to kill the legendaries asap... and it sometimes gets on my nerve xD xD xD The quick starting of DO/events... I've noticed that the newer players are soon realizing this and after seeing it happen once or twice will do the same :) which is good to see :) The whitespring "blue suitcase" is a general thing at basically any train station but the one at the whitesprings is most commonly used because it's a much more frequented location hahaha
I'm pretty sure that's the case during events. But during open world stuff like spooky scorched or the treasure hunters you definitely still need to tag the enemies.
@@Mr3ppozz if I have a daily of kill three legendaries I've found I have to be the one to take the final shot so sometimes that is why people don't wait. Sometimes I have to just knock out the dailies real quick
I still remember the first friend i made while playing fallout 76, dude made me a whole set of X-01 gifted me a bunch of flux to build all the jetpacks i wanted lmao AND gave me a vampire ultracite gatling laser, still one of my main weapons, i named it after him "Capital" in his honor.
Haha. I still have a heavy MG in on my weapon rack at camp that à guy gave me back when i was lvl 5. Named it after him too🤙🏻😄 wonder if he still plays
We veteran players who've played since BETA have too much stuff. Last week i gave 3 legendary fixers to a level 60 for free. I have another dozen in storage i don't even use.
First friend I made gifted me over 100 stimpacks because I'd none left. He also made me BoS underarmour. Another later made me armour and matching armour for my PO. I don't have a lot at the moment. But when I meet someone lower level, I always try to gift them something. Usually Stims and RadAway
Hello, I’m in need of assistance. If someone have the time and plays on ps4, I’m stuck on a main mission to find Ra Ra for the Crater. I have found her, but can’t kill the last robot to finish to mission. It’s a bit silly because I’m lvl 88, but plz help haha😅
You don't need to tag legendary enemies to get legendary loot. Just by being close by you get the legendary item. You just won't get the other loot or the XP.
Yeah back in the old days you had to get a hit in --- they changed it long ago, just being in the area you get the loot. No need to do this anymore really
Definitely. In the eviction notice event you should check the whole area because legendary enemies you didn't shoot, there's lots of scrip and maybe a decent wep or armor piece drop
Just downloaded the game. I was so surprised by the amount of high levels leaving me gifts outside my shop. Some would buy my entire inventory and leave it next to the shop. 76 has some of the best people walking around.
the "blue suitcase" thing also happens in the Watoga trainstation :) it also used to happen with the overseer's stashbox in the church in flatwoods but not anymore nowadays it seems.
When I first started (Halloween Sales) a rando of 350+ give me tons of junk items, ammo and meds. This taught me to be nice to others in this game, so yesterday, a lvl 3 was struggling with basic CAMP needs, so I built their CAMP for them and gave them extra meds, guns and ammo. I hope those guys are doing okay.
This video just reminded me of the time I was a new player and a random level 700 came up to me and gave me everything I needed. He even helped me finish my quest line. Overall I think the fo76 community is one of the friendliest out there! ❤
I would add another unspoken rule in my opinion : if you form or join either Daily Ops or Expedition teams, it's for what the teams are named for. Join the activity when other members do and quit when completed, unless the team leader either changes the team objective to casual or event (most of the time), or gives team leadership to an other player to do it again.
Absolutely this! I created a daily ops. Two peeps joined the team, but never joined me. I beckoned them to come and they left! Thankfully, when I created a new one later 3 people joined and came to the Daily Ops

If there are no casual or event teams available ppl join objective based teams even if they’re not interested in the objective because the perk strange in numbers exists so you get buffs to everything just by joining a team with other players. I did this because my carry weight was always over encumbered with a packed stash box if I didn’t join a team and yes I have mules and had first when I still played regularly before Bethesda abandoned the Fo76 PvP community.
@@vincenzoramsay2961 The big security bot at the end? Yeah, that one can be a pain. I usually run around the area, taking potshots when I can or throwing grenades and hiding behind the various pods, until it has to cool down, then I run behind it and peg it through the open plates until they close again. It's not an easy fight, though. Hope you find someone who'll help!
Just to add, besides the blue suit case at Whitespring, the red chest at Nuka World also is another place to just throw random extra items. I think this one has actually overtaken the blue suit case because Nuka World is a free fast travel spot and has 4 events that spawn there. Also this kinda goes a little bit with player vending and a little bit with giving stuff to low levels, at all my camps I have a dedicated spot I throw free items. In 3 of my 4 camps I have it marked Free with the neon letter lights. General rule of thumb for me is, if the plan is common and not worth more than 2000 caps, I'm just throwing it on my free pile. Lastly, don't lock your resources, with one exception. Like if you have 25 water coolers and you have them all locked, just why. Pretty much if it generates anything, I leave it unlocked for people to take. The only exception I would say to this is the ammo generator, because some guns just blow through ammo and you really need it. I will say though, I always get a chuckle out of people who have their wood pile locked. Like... how do you lock a free standing pile of wood? Lol
I like to get the workshops, build defenses and a resource area and leave all resources unlocked. My attitude is to share with others. Sometimes though, I’ll have some player who shows up camouflaged and attacks me from behind just as I finish setting it all up. Really annoys me because I’m willing to let them take it if they need the credit (for challenges, etc.). Wish there was a way to have a default message above my head that said it.
@@cindyo3697 Yeah people contesting workshops is annoying. Because you know as well as I do, they don't really care about it. They just wanna get the kill for the sake of it. Gotta love those PvP people. Not. I wish that pacifist mode extended to workshops, but I understand why it doesn't. As someone who plays a lot of PvP games and is highly competitive, I've never understood the PvP scene in this game. It actual trash, but the people who play it think they are actually good at PvP. Yeah go play Smite and get to grandmaster or Destiny and go flawless in trials against the lag switch gang and get back to me.
@@cindyo3697 Just yesterday I claimed my first workshop - the Ammo Factory in the northeast. Not even a minute after I cleaned house, some jackhole Magic_Mike3879 killed me and tried claiming it as his own. Like, really? One kill on me for 50 caps? It seemed like he wanted the workshop for himself, since I watched him run around the place, trying to find me. I found a little hidey-hole and didn’t let him have it. After about 10 or 15 minutes of him frantically searching the place and me giggling like a manic, he finally fucked off and jumped servers. A level 500-something in PA wielding a minigun trying to oust a level 69 with no armor and no desire to fight. All I wanted was some 10mm… I did get mine, though. Sent him a message: “Marco” Mike, if you’re reading this, you’re a dick. Playing Hide’n’Seek was fun, though.
I keep everything unlocked for that reason, though it was a little annoying to return to my camp to resupply and someone had cleaned out EVERYTHING moments before. colectron, ore extractor, candy machine, razorgrain, woodpile, radstag....
Another unwritten rule. Casual teams are basically long distance parties to get a boost to experience, you can join these teams and continue to play solo or do events. The other team types usually have a specific group goal.
The whitespring station suitcase started bc of dupers. It, at one point, was an infinite container so you could dump millions of pounds of stuff in it during the old school dupes. The more you know ⭐️
I started playing about a year ago. My 2nd or 3rd day playing, some level 400+ guy ran over, hopped on the mic and asked what kind of build I'm going for. I've always played most games using pistols, mainly because of my love for Goldeneye. He gave me the plans for the 10mm and the Plasma Gun, 30,000 caps, then disappeared. Wish I remembered the name. I was blown away cause I've never experienced a game where my first encounter with another player was actually pleasant.

Lately my care packages for low levels have consisted of ammo, 1 of each serum, some leveled 3* legendary gear and weapon and stimpacks. So if you are a low level and see me you will likely get a nice starter kit
The other day I noticed that someone had just started, like had the default pfp and was lvl 1 in Vault 76 still. I waited outside the vault for like 5 minutes just to make sure their first exposure to another player was me giving them a few stimpaks. Gotta welcome people proper.
You should do a follow-up regarding things you *shouldn't* do - like joining a Daily Ops team with no intention of doing said Daily Ops, or joining someone's team who took control of a workshop, in order to fast travel to it for free, only to quit the team and "steal" it from them...
@@TheSackSwordsman Well, it's not a matter of changing the minds of a-holes who are going to try and ruin your day regardless, but for those who simply may not know, yet...
If I'm not mistaken, the reason why the Whitespring train station became so popular, is that before all vendors shared the same cap limit, the Whitespring had the most amount of vendors to sell things too and had the best inventories. As a result, many people began to flock to the Whitespring as a trading hub, building up their bases around it and nuking it regularly to farm XP or flux. And back then, there was no scrip machine. You either sold your legendary items or dropped them. Stash limits were too small to hold anything, so those were your options. Combine this with the fact that Uranium Fever, a very popular event at the time for having 3 guaranteed legendary enemies, being right up the road. And you being able to fast travel directly to the train station and sell without having to go into a loading screen, meant the station became a popular drop point for items. At first people just dropped things on the ground, or put them into nearby containers. Then, (this is from what I heard from others not sure if everyone heard it, or if it was even true) a rumor began that dropped items would despawn much sooner than items placed in a container. So many began exclusively putting things in containers, to ensure people could grab them. The blue suitcase was just the most eye catching container there, so it slowly became the most popular drop point. Personally I prefer to drop my things in the newsstand, but to each his own.
It's good to know this game has a nice community. I stopped playing shortly after the beta and I only picked it back up recently. I didn't know what sort of player base I was getting into, but it's good to know it's helpful
In the event Riding Shotgun, DON'T open the gate unless the 4 blue boxes are found. If you keep it close, you have around 19 minutes to find the boxes. If you open the gate, you have 1m30 to find them before the event is over. Riding shotgun is an event you can start once per day and you can get some of the rarest rewards in the game.
another unwritten rule: if some high level player helps you out as a newb, find a way to pass that on at some point. at lvl 20ish a pink power suit walked up to me at my base and dropped a bag with a shocking amount of plans in it, i used all that i could and passed them on to my team who used up all the others, now.... i sometimes will see a newb starting at the vault and i know you can miss the corpse outside vault 76 as a new player and walk off into the game unarmed so i make em a basic weapon and go give it to them with some other items. this is me passing it on.
I’m actually one of the type of people to aid new players, I even have my camp by The Wayward and some water pumps for them to get water, as well as having some weapons and chems in my vendor to be cheap for any new player to have and help them in any way.
It's really great so many players do follow these 'rules'. Any public event with lowbies, I go for a cripple leg shot, and only kill it if it's going to effect the outcome by destroying something. I haven't been using the Whitespring Train station for plans, I tend to put them at the blue suitcase at Morgantown figuring it's the first train vendor bot newbies encounter.
Also the Nuka World trunk where the clown trader is usually at, that's a good spot to drop things since it's a crafting hub. And yeah I'd 100% agree that this community is really kind and welcoming. If I see someoen at the vault, or need to lighten my load of water or stims, I head over to drop some for new players because I've had it happen with all of my new characters, even way back when I was brand brand new. Idk if part of it is (at least on PC) that we can't communicate with each other, so it cuts down on "the grumpies" that other games can get, but people are pretty great to play with.
To think, Bethesda's vision for 76 was a massive PvP focused game where people constantly kill each other for scrap metal. Only for the entire game to flip to the opposite, no one really kills each other (because its not worth it) and generally everyone is very welcoming and friendly. It really has to stem from the fact we all just desperately want to play Fallout and many other Bethesda games with our friends, and given the chance we also enjoy them with strangers too. Follow the rules Wastelanders, we're the only ones left out here. We gotta look out for one another.
Just started playing yesterday and I made a little shack with a crop farm. Some 263 level lady came up to me in full power armour. She then gave me loads of crops and fertiliser, as well as a really good hunting rifle. I'll never forget that, thank you Suziegoose, if you ever see this
2 more rules I would add 1)if you didn't pay for the Assaultron recall keycard, then don't start the Encryptid event! 2) don't start an Expidition group until you have a full ultrasite battery

I got given things as a newbie and now I do it often, I also like to turn up to defending workshop missions to help out lowbies defending it. One of the things I like the most is that even when people meet who don't speak any language apart from their own can communicate at a similar level using the basic emotes. And let's face it, we love getting hearts. ❤
I'm new to the game and the community seems so wholesome and someone came up to me when I had started off and dropped 50 stimpacks. Great to see people being nice to new players
I tend to just sell plans for 10% of what the game tells me. 99/150/225 for legendaries depending on how many stars, bobbles and mags for 15 and aid for cheap. I will also just drop stuff in front of my vendor to get rid of weight and stash stuff. I also built my camp near 76 so anyone can get to it free and for the new players. The only thing I don’t like is that ammo has weight in it when vending. They should just make that zero weight in a vendor since we can’t just sell it to an NPC. I’d put all my unused ammo in there if that was the case.
I do remember back in the Beta version I dropped some varies good loot for a low level player; and whilst I didn't have a mic at the time they did. I could just remember them being so thankful for the supplies, as I could only imagine they were very low on medical goods. Another time, was passing the prison and a group of low level players seem to be struggling clearing out the super mutants. Going over to provide some support, they seemed rather grateful for the assistance. If anything at the time, just acting as a lone wander offering assistance whether I went.
The blue suitcase was one that I came to love. I always check it out when ever I'm in the area to see if it has things in it. If not I try to put some things like stim's in there for the lower level players. The last one was very true for me. My VERY FIRST time out of the Vault someone was there and gave me the treasure hunter outfit and hat along with 20 stim's some radaway, and like 1k 10mm ammo. I was shocked at that and have come to love the community here.
Wonderful list and wonderful video, T0nik!! ❤ Another thing I like doing is leaving any scavenger bots and purifiers unlocked, especially if there's challenges like "Collect 25 purified water"!
1:26 the good thing now about Legendary enemies at Events is that Bethesda changed it to where you just need to be close to get credit for the Legendary. Visual line of sight is optimal, but I’ve gotten it through walls too. So thankfully because there are those players that wanted to prevent others from getting credit, the change was made, so it’s usually is just a distance thing now
One giant thing that may seem strange to new players is most level 1000+ don’t like you running the perk that gets rid of rads for your team. If anyone puts on a perk deck that does it we usually start yelling at them (in a friendly way). Some tryhard builds involve having radiation and/or being low health
I really appreciate him covering all those unspoken rules that many of us choose to go by I would like to see him cover the unspoken rules of PVP in 76 as I am curious if there are any at all. Again great content tkeep up the good work. ❤
I've only been playing for a year and I've done all of these. I hope the new players watch this video and can follow these unspoken/unwritten rules so the community can keep being as less toxic and as fun as it always been. Thanks for making the vid, Tonic!
I always throw nuka grenades during the event. So that I get the experience for the all the kills. Too many people camping in the corner and taking all the kills.
I love, that everything you said is true. I played since release, had a long break from it and now I jumped back in with my son. We started as level 1's of course, and yes, 15 minutes after leaving the vault and building starter camps, doing the wayward quest line, a level 1000 something player showed up and dropped level appriate BoS snipers and a whole 7000 ammo for them 😂 I did that too, it's a good way to lose unneeded ammo and do others a favor.
just recently looked to get back into the game so i am happy to see the community is still great. back when i use to play i ran with PK hunters to help keep noob hunting down. glad that's less needed now a days :)
Thankfully, now you have to opt into PvP, and until you hit level 5 you can't even do that. My wife almost quit the game before that change was made, because there were those who targeted her specifically every time she came near Flatwoods (making it _very_ hard to even start playing). I think all the noob-hunters have since moved on to other games.
Most Important ones: 1. Don't use explosives or Auto Grenade Launcher in rumble. Don't tunnel hog there as well, stay innthe middle and just tag the enemy. 2. Don't use MIRV in public event. 3. Don't grab someone else's death drop. 4. Crap you don't need goes in the blue suitcase in whitespring station. 5. Carry your own ass as good as you can in Dops and Pitt if you're with random people.
Why not #1, I get up on the house and dump nades on the forest enemies, and the greenhouse still, and help when the other folks are in trouble since I can hit anything on the map... I also turn screen shake off lol
a lot dont realise that going to the end of the tunnels actually reduces spawn rate so no benefit at all, basically just have a tesla rifle, grenadier card and tag everything from the middle
@@-Lucky-Six- Also, 10-15 people tagging everything generally kills everything too. So, there's no reason to do any more damage than you need to. Also, Molotov heals the scavengers, so it's not a very difficult thing to keep them alive.
@@TheHumanRanger what are you talking about ? House ? Forest ? Greenhouse ? Map ? It sounds nothing like Radiation Rumble. I think you're talking about Moonshine Jamboree. Do whatever the fuck you want in that event, nobody cares as Jamboree XP rate is quite lower than WestTek.
Awesome video dude it's really cool how all of these unwritten rules have literally become second nature and muscle memory for a lot of players over the years! great idea in making this guide, very useful for new players coming to the game 🤘
I can tell you how it started, about leaving the item in the suitcase. Before, there were a couple of bored high kevel player. I was part of them. We would stalk low level player, and leave stuff on their way. Or behind them. So they would turn aroynd and there would be a bag with stims...or ammo. And thru reddit post, we started putting starter gear/donation inside those suit case. The first train station was a hit spot but every train station was a place to give goodies. The reason why we did that is because, we would rush tye new players and most just wanted to be left alone or didnt want the boost. But almost every9ne would grab the content of that suit case, if hou left something small. They would think it was part of the game. And thats how it all started. I am guessing with time, people just started to leave their trash in it "as a donation".
Nice to see you do a fresh video like this every once in awhile on this game. I know you are a veteran player and it’s nice to see you help out the community especially for new players coming out of the vault.
Be reasonable with your prices…. If you think thirty to forty thousand caps is reasonable to sell anything short of Tod Howard’s actual tears then I know a nice cell at parsons that is missing it’s lunatic
Correct, but I still always see players tagging and emoting so others come nearby so they don't miss the loot. I still do it too, that tradition is still going strong on PC!
@@T0nik Not my experience. I'm on PC and I can rarely get a shot in on a legendary in Uranium fever, Eviction notice, basically any event. I don't really care either since I still get loot. Maybe I'm just really unlucky.
@@T0nik I do it all the time on Xbox during sertin events. Like the powerplants power core generators I never lock them so people won't take the resource points so anyone can get free power cores 👍
True but proximity is iffy... the easiest way to ensure everyone gets the loot is by letting people tag it... which also makes sure they're in proximity
(legendary) area loot only works in an radius of ~ 30m , so in larger events it is still necessary to tag the enemies. And sometimes even that is buggy.
I just started playing Fallout 76 and the community has been one of the nicest communities I've ever seen. It's such a breath of fresh air having people be so generous and helpful! Since I'm still a low level, I've had tons of high level players randomly give me supplies and plans which have helped tremendously. It's quite an amazing and unique community!
My no1 rule is use Tesla on most public events! It help you level up and help others! I hate as…oles ho use granades, rockets and bombs! I think everyone hate them except themselves! So I please author to make extra video about Tesla and events! I can make as many nucagranade, as I need, but I don’t do that because I respect others and keep in mind that I am not along! When I on the public server. Go to private and use what you want!
autofire weapons, from handmade to a minigun, with he Explosive effect are also outstanding tag weapons, that you can control your damage with. Without a doubt tho, I agree about grenades and other big booms, especially in confined areas. I mean, if you were in a real fight, would you throw a grenade at an enemy a few inches from your ally?
@@scjdg It would hurt my ally, but that’s obviously not the case here. The reason you wouldn’t want to go ham with ‘nades is the constant screen shake and all the explosions and dust clouds make it difficult to keep LoS on tangos
Star Trek Online has a pretty good community too, but yeah, F76 players are mostly pretty cool. There are some major jerks, but it's not nearly as toxic as, say, WoW or SWTOR.
As someone who has long since burnt out of the game but still enjoy it I love to see vids like this trying to make the experience better for everyone so maybe the experience might be more enjoyable when I return (at some point hopefully)
No need to tag legendaries anymore, however at events like Eviction Notice, people love camping way outside and killing the legendaries before they even make it remotely close to the central area, meaning you either stay above or below the area in order to be within radius to get legendary drops and that could suck really badly for those wanting to farm legendaries. Another unwritten rules you forgot about is the fact that people will revive you regardless, and that people do not expect a lot from low level players and I do not mean that in a bad way, people will have an understanding if someone is struggling in a quest or public events, I had a level 3 guy join me in a daily ops that I was grinding and he tried tagging some enemies but had a hard time, since I was grinding I was not interested in babying him either, I told him to go stand behind me and seek cover and him just being there getting some shots off made him go up 2 levels and by the time I was done cause I went multiple times, he gotten to level 15 because I allowed him to take a few pot shots here and there while I finished the guys off, I even gave him some ammo. Another unwritten rule is that you nuke trap bases or people pricing items too high, its not common but I laugh so hard when I see someones base get nuked and I know its a trap base or someone with ridicules prices like 10 000 caps for a one star legendary pipe pistol and they got like 20 similar on sale LOL or doing 1000+ caps for a magazine like wut.
@@vincenzoramsay2961 If you haven’t already, equip Concentrated Fire perk card and aim for the Fusion Cores in the back. Makes Sentry Bots child’s play.
Ever since I hit level 100 I’ve been giving away countless duplicate plans and recipes. I don’t normally give away ammo or stims unless they ask. I also sometimes make weapons for them to help out early on. I didn’t know about the blue suitcase. The more you know.
Thanks for this. Just started playing fallout for the first time ever last week. Cant believe i waited this long to play this game. Its amazing really.
Other ideas to be helpful and have fun: Buy 3 fusion reactor plans from Whitesprings vendors and give them away to low leveled ppl. Join public teams with low leveled ppl. When they’re dying, fast travel to them to see if you can help.
The tagging legendaries thing is not needed anymore because I’m pretty sure everyone can get it if they are part of the event. Also make sure to use the area looting to get legendaries you may not have seen. Another unwritten rule, if you’re selling ammo at your vendor sell it for 1 CAP EACH!
I’ve been playing for a month or so. I’m at level 45. I love the game!! I have played 3, 4 and New Vegas. This video is extremely helpful. I had no idea about the blue suit case or the legendary enemy thing. I will be doing both now. I hope a veteran player will drop me some loot soon, haha.
I remember being fresh outta the vault at lvl 2 and someone In power armor came over to me and dropped a care pkg. It looked like a lil present, it contained Food, water, a few stimpaks, some chems and a nice pistol (with ammo)..I was so grateful because I literally had nothing. I never forgot that and as a result, I always try to do the same.😊
I will fairly regularly go to the Donation Box outside of Vault 76 and drop some level 1-5 weapons that I crafted and fully modified (usually sticking a Suppressor on it when applicable) as well as a decent amount of ammo for that particular gun. A favorite of mine being to fully mod a 10mm Pistol since everyone can use that weapon even from level 1, and I will sometimes also leave a Bow & Arrows in the Donation Box as well. I will also often offload any excess explosives, food/water, and aid items that I don't need either. I just figure the Vault 76 Donation Box is a great place to leaves stuff for new players (I will especially do this if I happen to see that someone is actually inside of Vault 76, meaning that it's a new character).
Amazing video as always bud. These unwritten rules are most certainly great and makes the wasteland great for sure. This community is so amazing and so glad to be in this great community 💙🤘
Great video! It really is a pleasant experience playing FO76, most of the time. One of the big rules for me is @ 03:13: Vendor Etiquette. It's super annoying when you can't find a player's vendor station. Also, try not to price items too high. Some vendors are just stupid. Seriously, no one's gonna spend 40,000 caps on anything, really.
IDK about PC version but XBOX version the 40k price is to keep players from emptying the vendor. at one time there was a rumor of a glitch that If the vendor was emptied they could then access your stash box items. IDK if it was true but most 40k items probably fall under the 'better safe than sorry" category.
@@shannoneos4608 That might explain it, yeah. I usually see that on something really stupid like one of the notes that were left lying around before the Scorched Plague killed everyone - not the sort of thing you'd even expect anyone to buy, much less at such a ludicrous price.
I'd pay 40k caps for a few different items to be honest. BoS Jumpsuit. Leather Coat. Vintage Toxic Gin. Of course, the likelihood I'll ever see any of those 3 items in a player vendor is likely 0%
Just came across this video, and I think it's timely with all the new players in here. These are all great points and I really appreciate you making this video! And Yes, new players... these "unwritten rules" are VERY accurate. We love seeing the new players in the game now, and are loving helping them out.
Rule 5 happened to me yesterday, I was level 15 and I went to see what someone who was level 800 was selling, the owner of the camp was near me and when I entered the store screen I heard shots from the other player, I look behind me and I don't see nothing so I continue shopping, when I finish looking in the store I see a small bag with medical and anti-radioactive items on the floor near me (of course I took them because I was very very short of medical items). Now I know that person wanted to give me things.
my original plan has been to play through everything solo as much as possible, but this makes me want to jump in with some players. Sounds like a great community. Thanks for the tips!
They changed the legendary enemy thing in events. you just need to be within the event radius to get the legendary item drop. if you dont shoot them you just wont get the EXP from the legendary enemy
Noob here! I can honestly say that this community is absolutely amazing ❤ I was interested to play for the cryptid lore and was totally not expecting a 550 lvl to take me under their wing & gifted me with all i could need and beefed up my weapons my first time playing! I saw their camps and WOW, to see how much care ppl put into their camps was awesome. This is a memory I'll always treasure and try to pass along the same vibe to new players for sure
This was great. All the help I’ve gotten makes my heart so warm 😂😂 my pc broke and I recently got an Xbox and the community in this game has literally made it worth it on its own.
I had just reached level 41 and was scrapping some legendaries, a nice guy walked over and dropped a fixer for me level 40 with a wonderful stealth build on it and I've been making myself a stealth build so it was really nice that I got that. Very much appreciative
I appreciate the tips, I’m only a lvl 40, started not to long ago, but I wish I would have known about the friendly loot dropping tip when I started. Looking back quite a few players tried to give me stuff, I just thought it was a way for them to glitch their items and make them worth more or something 😂 didn’t want to rob their stuff.
the blue suitcase was noticed by the devs. they actually added donation boxes in every train stations. shows the devs of this game truly care about their player base.
When doing the event buried with Honor there's always a shovel next to the grave site.Use it then drop it in front of the the gave that way nobody ever has to search or keep a shovel. Also if you don't find it sitting outside there's another sitting inside the building either behind or beside the counter. Be kind please leave behind
Another tip: if there is no shovel near the grave or in the building, interact with the dirt to get the message: "You need to equip a shovel". A shovel will then spawn behind the nearest tree.
