The Gerber Dime & the Olight is a good match. I keep my Dime in a small belt pouch with a skeleton looking keychain prytool, a small diamond sharpener & a little Cold Steel Recon 1 knife. One of my favorite EDC's is the SAK Tinker paired with any flashlight.
I would realistically take like 5 of those items 😄 but if FORCED to pick only two, I'd want the flashlight, so the Dime along with it. Flashlight is always good to have, even to light up some dark areas in daytime.
Very cool combos there and a great video, you made me laugh when you mentioned using the pencil in Ikea😂. My father carried his Australian Army issued sailors knife(with a marlin spike) everyday along with a Zippo, quite similar to your combo⚜️
Interesting combos here. You can choose the pairing that suits the sort of day you have planned. I am a big Victorinox fan - especially the Midnite Manager
I have a super cheap one of those peanut lighters from ebay, and it holds fuel for a long time (probably a year what I checked). I also have a more expensive one from True Utility, but the fuel always evaporates, probably within a few weeks. So everybody should check if they got one that is sealed well or not.
I have to get a peanut lighter, I have 2 cheap ones that don’t work (can’t open them to fuel them), I would go for the tinker and a good peanut lighter…
Being in the UK there isn't really a good UK legal (i.e. non-locking blade) ''one and done'' multitool, apart from the Swisschamp. Today I'm carrying the Vic Climber paired with LM Squirt PS4. The scissors on the Squirt are broken but still for it's size it's worth carrying to have a small pair of pliers and a file/hacksaw, I would reach for the Climber first for openers/drivers but there are a couple of extra sizes on the Squirt should I need them. A slightly heavier duty combo I sometimes carry is the Farmer X paired with Knipex Cobra XS. Both rock solid. If I want to carry a folder like my Spyderco Urban, the Nextool Mini Flagship provides any other tools I might need. I'm a Victorinox guy through and through but most of the tools on the Mini Flagship are just as capable I think, particularly the scissors, and the Phillips driver. These are just knife/tool pairings however. I always carry additional EDC items like a torch and lighter, as well as my watch and phone.
P.S. if I had to make a knife/tool combo from what you have on the table at the end, I'd pair the Cadet with the Gerber Dime, as I do like to have pliers, as well as scissor, blades and openers/drivers. But I do like your pairing with the black Swisscard, a very compact (slim) and elegant combo.
@simonh6371 See ya! The last time I was in London was in 2009. I am very sure I had a knife or SAK on me when I was about. I was unaware of any specific laws then.
I often carry something similar to the dime/olight. I have a squirt and rovyvon a5 on a Ti carabiner I just throw in my pocket. Great selection though. Cheers 🍻
