MUSIC AS A WEAPON visual podcasts
The podcast series Music as a Weapon, narrates about musicians, that had to flee their country because of their music. My podcasts tell about the lives of these musicians who have been persecuted for their music. Through their stories, I want to investigate why repressive regimes are so afraid of music.

Spanish-Catalan rapper Valtonyc was prosecuted for insulting the Royal Family in Spain. He fled to Belgium. He relates on his exil in my podcast Music as a Weapon.
In early 2021, there were fierce protests in Catalonia after the arrest of another Catalan rapper Pablo Hasél. 200 Spanish artists and artists support Hasél with a petition calling Hasel's conviction "a serious curtailment of artistic freedom".
Hasel's case makes the discussion about freedom of speech in Spain fierce and topical again.
