Can you say exactly what light companies are misleading people? Normally on the driver it does say 5% plus or minus actual wattage. what companies are testing there lights with top end diodes then using lower bin diodes in there lights. What evidence do you have of this? I just watched a great video made by Dr. MJ Coco about LED lighting. Have you got a chance to watch it? There seems to be alot of info in this video that id like to know more about. If you could take a few to answer i'd appreciate it.
I think as he implied, it does happen - and not extremely uncommon. But it’s usually only those cheap shitty quantum board lights that advertise as either “Full Spectrum” and/or Blurple. You know the ones that cost like $40 for a 1000W light - then if some are truthful, you read the actual specs and it’s like 30W or something. Some don’t even give actual specs, then when you message them they take 2 weeks to reply and give you a BS answer.
I've done my due dilegence and can say that the brands we sell are all legit. There are other brands that we dont sell that are good too like Fluence, for example.
@@Ledgrowlightsdepot What's your return policy I've bought 4 sets of leds in the past year before digging into light science myself to find out none of them are even attempting to produce a good light spectrum.
@Howie Gruwitz I'd wait for the Lazer LED cones out. Or use an old 60"LED Flat screen Bend 4 large flat washers 45* angle , glue to back of TV connect chain, or cable . HANG SCREEN FACING DOWN. It is loaded with color changing Quality LEDs . Take a video of any LED full spectrum light . Play on TV 12 or 18 hours loop. Use a light meter .
Also, I use a quantum meter and Kill-O-Watt meter to look at the PPFD and wattage when I review lights, so you can't say I dont test in-house "whatsoever". I don't do as much testing as MIGRO, but keep in mind that some of his methods are not perfect either. The best testing you can get is by sending a light to a lab to be tested and not test something "at home" or "in the shop". But we (us, MIGRO, Dr COCO, etc) are doing our best out here and trying to help people to make wise purchase decisions and educating them on LED grow lights.
@@Ledgrowlightsdepot So you read the spec sheet, wave a quantum sensor around bit, but don't even bother to make a single par chart to validate what the actual useable PPE is? Oh yeah, quite comprehensive! I guess the useable PPE is 2.8 on the dot, as my script says here after all. You certainly wouldn't want to test how the design translates the sphere tested Total PPF onto an actual canopy now would you? No because that would actually be useful.
@@Ledgrowlightsdepot "I don't do as much testing" Brother, you don't perform even a single par chart test. Do you test bar temperature? Because I don't remember you ever mentioning that is n any comparisons. As temp affects diode efficacy, you'd think you'd at least wave a cheap temp sensor around a bit and keep a log of the various models performance. You don't even do the bare minimum. What a joke. You're helping people, yeah helping them buy one of the lights you stock. And that's cool! Just admit you do barely research other than reading manufacturer specs. Don't pretend to be what you're not. The information you present is barely beyond that of an average floor salesman.
Hey again Norma. That’s a great question, i guess there’s the usual suspects like Mars, Spider, Vipar etc… then the bigger guys like HLG, Lumatek etc. Those companies generally can afford the privilege of quality products cos they’re now “trusted” by customers, giving them more sales, hence being able to upgrade and update. Smaller companies like Phlizon and other No Name Amazon/eBay brands prob aren’t as trusted - but, still manage to attract customers cos they cost-cut on parts to make up for not affording that same profit privilege the bigger companies have.
I mean that’s not to say that a no name brand can’t be good. They definitely can. I have a 6bar light from a local company that i custom requested. They already had some of the parts and ordered the rest. About $100 cheaper than an SE5000 equivalent - which most of the parts can be swapped out for, cos the frame is Spider Farmer. Nonetheless and irrespective, there’s always gems out there if you’re willing to do due diligence.
Oh the company who has sold the 'new and improved' version of their unengineered crap so many times, they SURELY got it right this time. How many 760nm diodes they use now? Three per hundred watts? Lol potheads always willing to give scammer one more shot.
Tell that to my purple stemmed garbage plants. They must have stock in phosphorus mines because you gotta add tons under their garbage 'token far red' lights. Most of you led shills have never grown outdoors. These lights are garbage.
