Hello Serg I can understand your feelings very well, it is very similar to me. I have recently started selling or giving away a lot of things and learning the Thai language. My plan is to emigrate to Thailand with a suitcase and a backpack when I retire in three years. Thanks for your video. 🙏

I actually retired from lawn Forssman almost 10 years ago due to an injury. It wasn’t that bad back then. I can’t imagine doing the job in the last five years. For me, Moving from Poland to the USA, I thought I found my place, but living in Italy for a year opened my eyes. The praises are yours, you are an adaptive person & opening up for different cultures. That’s why you’re doing great in Thailand. Having expat friends also makes your life at ease, you’re able to share thoughts with someone else. But what’s still missing from what you detailed is the ability to communicate with the locals. Thai people in general love talking to foreigners & treat them well. It’s just the foreigner has to build a bridge first. I’ve seen several videos of expats who travel in Thailand & speak some Thai. They are very welcome & living here with happiness. Although reality hurts, I have to say Thai people who can speak English, yes they can. Those who can’t, will always ignore learning English. Speaking from my perspective as a Thai. Therefore please learn some Thai to get rid of a language barrier. Actually Thai is a 50 : 50 equally easy & difficult language. How’s so ? Thai doesn’t have grammar or at least has simple tenses. That makes speaking & listening so easy to catch. What’s insanely hard is the writing system which makes reading hard too. My advice is learning only the practical ways of speaking & listening. And leave writing & reading to Thais. LOL 😅😂🤣

I'm still decided what to do in a couple of years. I'm currently thinking about selling and getting rid of a bunch of stuff, put some in storage, rent out my house, and being a slow traveler for a couple of years. With my current sub 3% mortgage interest rate, i think i would be crazy to sell it, plus acreages keep climbing in value. Since I qualify for long term retirement visa in Thailand, and i believe i can use the VA Foreign Medical Program there for medical services, i would probably stay there for awhile and use it as a base to explore Southeast Asia. Still trying to decide exactly, but right now i kinda want to roam the planet for a couple of years, and just take my time and relax, before i settle down somewhere.

Thailand has the best infrastructure of all those countries. The Philippines might be better, but I really don’t like the food. I really need to take some Thai classes, I know this. Hopefully soon. Personally, as a Thai woman, I prefer Pattaya. If you take time searching for quieter, better environment, you can find great accommodations with all conveniences and good hangout places like the BDC but more in tune with nature. Hua Hin is great but it is too far from BKK. BTW, I am living in Sriracha, closer to BKK than Pattaya. All nature and mountains are stunning. One downside is you can’t swim in the sea. Must be nice. Very jealous. When I visited, granted I was on vacation, but I definitely got the distinct impression that attitudes there, even around Bangkok, were just way more relaxed, casual, guards-down than my normal experience anywhere in America. Talked to a French dude in my hotel - same take. You emigrated from San Jose, right? So you'll know what I mean when I make the contrast to the pervasive and perpetual default hostility that exists around the SF Bay Area. Man, I really need to set up a 2nd home over there and start spending more time there ....
