Hi Britec, love you contents ;) Can you tell me why I have "OneDrive" after my user name in some adres and how to safety remove "OneDrive" , I do not have One Drive installed on my PC and I not use it at all ??? Examples: C:\Users\andib\OneDrive\Documents\My Games C:\Users\andib\Music\Playlists C:\Users\andib\OneDrive\Slike\Saved Pictures C:\Users\andib\Videos\Captures I have done upgrade from w10 to w11 via regular updates. EDIT: I have follow you tips and rename my PC to Andi and in my adress bar still say for example: " C:\Users\andib\Videos\Any Video Converter " andib is still there :( This is my Administrator local account.
I searched all the platforms and watched the videos I was just about to nail my head. Thank you soooooo much for telling like this. You really deserve a lot of appreciation. Thank you once again.
Thanks as 1st option worked only to see new username while entering PIN but with a catch as Still i am able to see old username in Windows 11 Start menu.
The thing is when you change the user facing information like this does it change the folder name under C:\users or does that folder retain the original username?
The username is changed, but you have to be real careful changing username folder in c:\users. You are asking for trouble changing this. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList\User SID\. is not recommended. The name will be changes on login, but if you want to change folder name, create another account.
@@Britec09 Yes, this always drove me insane with Windows. There was never an easy way to change the path name C:\User\ once the user name is changed in the GUI as shown in the video. I vaguely recall older versions of Windows having a built in feature to copy one profile to another, and I think there are a couple 3rd party utilities to do this too, but it's such a pain. I basically wind up creating a new local account, and copying over various data from the old profile to the new one. I never found an easier way to do this, which is unfortunate.
Well done, sir. I'm a tech support person by trade and you made the instructions easy to follow - and you gave us choices! Also I approve fully of using the underlying commands to bring up the various control tools (i.e the *.msc files)
thank you so much .. i had bought a laptop with win10 used and updated to win11, the old owner appeared as user together with me. on login.. netplwiz i could remove the former owner... you helped...
hey, when i try to change my full name, and i logg out, no matter what i do after i log in on that acc, full name goes back to the same, how can i prevent it??
THANK YOU!!!! I can't tell you how many other websites I went to that had options that didn't exist. Your first options, very straight forward and worked perfectly!!
Very much helpful...Plus. I would like to request for videos showing how to fix Bluetooth, am kinda having problem on how to fix my Bluetooth, it is not showing.. Thank you..
It really is incredible how Microsoft only allows for the last option now, which comes with obvious problems. I hope every person who was involved in that decision and didn't veto it stubs their toe today.
Thanks for this information, I bought this Alienware laptop from a computer store and it was driving me nuts that it had their name on it. Your helpful suggestion got that name off my computer super fast.
hello, I have tried doing the first method many times already but after I sign in again, it kept going back to the same account name, what do you say I could do? when I tried the second it said it couldnt operate with the windows 10 version even if I have the windows 11, to do the third method, my account didn't have those options, while the fourth method kept saying that access is denied
I am having the same problem. The first option, I have changed my name numerous times. It shows it on the screen when the computer comes back on but as soon and I use my fingerprint to unlock it it switches back to my old name. I am so frustrated.
Thank you so much. This has helped me so much. I just got the solution in 2nd part of this video. So much thanks to you. I just finished installing windows 11 newly on my laptop bcz of a "This computer is managed by an organization" issue. That issue was also solved using your methods. Then again I had faced problems logging into microsoft account. I associated my MS online account to this PC. But then I removed it. But for that I had to change my User Name forcifully by windows. It was very annoying. Then I changed it from control panel. But it was just displaying my acoount name changed. But in reality it just changed the display name. Bcz If i tried to access my files from a network using windows' SMB filesharing, I couldn't log in using the previous name that I had. But instead I had to use the new name. But your video saved a lot of my times. Bcz I was worrying If i had to do a complete reinstallation of windows. Thanks a ton from Bangladesh. Note: Windows 11 is getting worse. Windows 7 was the best. Then win 10 become worse. And win 11 is the worst. Because there are so many break down and irrelevancy in windows settings. For example, the problem I faced. I'm changing my user name from control panel. But it just changes my display name. But when I use the command NETPLWIZ from RUN the account name actually changes to what I want. This is pretty annoying. Windows is nowadays relying a lot on hardware resources to run properly. It's using hardware resources way more than it should.
Thanks a lot sir Britec, it's been ages since I last time touch a PC or laptop and I tell you f*** up big time in first day I receive my laptop. This kind of videos help me a lot like real LOT
