Outstanding. I've always wanted a desktop that looks like a window with a fly on it trying to get inside so as to escape from a grey and rainy day. So professional looking too.
To those who have a problem with the half taskbar, choose the task bar alignment to center & then on the right corner of the margin space there's 3 dots. Click it & then u'll be directed to the advanced margins. In it, top & bottom margin = (1), outer & inner margins = (-170). Then the corner radius should be somewhere less than 50. Hope this helps!!
I’m not even joking this is the best tutorial I’ve ever watched for anything, the only time I needed to pause is because your computer takes less time to download stuff, other than that, flawless and I just had to hear and click, my desktop looks great, you earned yourself a new subscriber, keep up the good work
In case someone is having the same problem I was having. When you open the wallpaper in the application. I was having a blueish tint over the background. I figured the issue and how to solve it. When you customize the image, there is a setting for post-processing, uncheck that. It worked for me.
I would recommend enable the setting that pauses the live desktop when there is a foreground application running. It has a big performance impact when running while gaming.
Great video and very well explained. Funny as I was only thinking 2 days prior to watching your video how bored I was with the standard Windows 11 backdrop. Amazing job, many thanks.
You can also use similar themes with Wallpaper engine, Wallpaper engine is a better alternative because it's very customizable and can be automatically stopped when you put any program in full screen mode
@@abhijitsahu2197 You can turn it off from settings if you’re using lively wallpaper or wallpaper engine it is called input select it and then select none instead of mouse then your wallpaper won’t move
rainmeter destroyed my battery once i mean it used to work good until one day i discovered my laptop cannot be unplugged for more than 1 min. and all that just because i installed rainmeter@@arkadeepghosh2182
Crazy thing is I used these types of programs in the early 2000's. I used to even make them sometimes. Not only do you risk malware infections, and screwing up your registry key settings, but no one cares what your desktop looks like at the end of the day. The risk is not worth the reward. But it does look nice.
Thanks for this, I only installed lively wallpapers and roundedTB and I'm fine with how it turned out. Also I was able to tweak lively wallpapers settings to keep it at minimal CPU and power consumption. Thanks!
hello there, could be please explain how you changed the settings of lively wallpaper so it would be at minimumal cpu and power consumption? I would very much appreciate it! because I really don't know what I'm doing
open lively wallpaper go te settings then performance and then change the aplication focuesd and aplication full screen to pause this will help because it wont be running all the time in the backround @@sabei221b
@@sabei221b go to performance in the settings of Lively, go to wallpaper playback, and then set them both to pause. if that isnt enough or you dont want to, tweak any other setting below it
As a professional I rather have my desktop useful for my tasks to do them as efficient and professional as possible rather than "oh it looks professional", am I the only one thinking like that? :)
@@sithiradulanjithgalhenaged6974 Actually, the round taskbar does not affect the cpu so much. That is pretty much the only thing I use from this video.
Fantastic tutorial - thank you! I love how you keep the pace up because it saves time and if there is something I missed then I can always rewind and play again. Liked and subscribed!!
@@Player-fg4ub That helps with performance during tasks, but for me using that much CPU at idle is a deal killer. Windows Vista had this as a built-in feature, there is a reason it was quickly removed.
The most professional desktop look is the default windows look. That's what most offices and workspaces are using. Also, Rainmeter chugs battery like there is no tomorrow.
whats your ram, cpu, and gpu increase from running all this in the background 24/7? Is there a significant increase? I used to run a program called "windows blinds" back in the single core
I cant speak for the guy who made the video but hopefully my numbers can help you. Pre installation my pc would idle at 1-2% cpu usage, right around 7-8gb of ram usage and 0% gpu usage. Post installation im getting 1-3% cpu and 7.5-8gb ram. So these programs appear to be very light on cpu, However my gpu now idles at between 5 and 8% usage. personal specs are an i7-13700k 32gb ram and a Radeon 6800XT.
@@SnakeFire3 very good to know. One of the benefits of modern PCS with the massive horsepower compared to single-core PCS back in the XP days is you can run stuff like this with hardly a dent.
@@jstagzsr You can simply enable the function of turning off the live wallpaper, while the screen is focused on another app, which greatly reduces PC usage in background. The other apps don't use much power either way.
@@SnakeFire3 thanks for sharing. What about your Win 11 startup time? Have you noticed an increase post installation? I'm not referring to last bios time but generally loading windows, do these apps run seamlessly with the OS or is there a delay and loading when windows starts?
@@darkslide_x no change in startup time that I’ve noticed. And the programs all take effect maybe 2 seconds after logging in. So right after you log in there’s a bit of a flash as it replaces your wallpaper and taskbar. But after those initial couple seconds it’s seamless, although it’s worth noting if you have a second monitor the taskbar can no longer appear on both displays.
Since most of the stuff didn't work I used tranculet tb and taskbarx to make it feel like rounded taskbar and I used different rainmeter skins since I couldn't use the one shown in the video
hey, so when i try opening the downloaded file for the mii power rainmeter skin, it asks me which app i should open it in. I tried several of the optional apps it gave me but it opened onto a document with strange writings. I cant open the downloaded file for the backup link either, as both show up with the same result.
if anyone having issues where the dynamic mode is not working properly and your tb icons are getting hidden behind, putting negative values in the outer margine and inner margine will work
Im also struggeling with the same. Also Every time i restart the pc it gets even worse for the taskbar it becomes non existant only shows half of the search bar😂 im trying to find a way around it.
roundedTB didn't work properly for me, love the rainmeter and the new cursors though, I'll stick to translucentTB for the taskbar mods, thanks for the video!
For some reason when i left-align the taskbar it works perfectly but when i choose centre, it cuts off the start menu and search bar at 7:28 in the tutorial.
This is a great video, I followed it step by step and have an amazing looking desktop. The only thing that doesnt quite work is the roundedTB, when I centre it, it only shows some of the icons - i.e. it doesnt expand enough to show all of the apps pinned to the task bar. Not sure if I missed a step, any one know how to fix it?
I recommend using taskbar xi instead, it won't make your taskbar round, but it will be transparent. RoundedTB has stopped working and hasn't for months now, it probably won't be fixed.
As cool as this is, you might as well get a mac for this kind of look. I wish you can show us the CPU usage for the live wallpaper to get a better idea
thank you sooo much bro just did all that you said. i watched a lot of other videos but didnt got an explanation as good as this. this looks pretty good ty.
no it doesnt🤣, he shouldve put windows 11 in title just to be safe cause when it comes to rounded taskbar fo windows 10 there seems no way that we can just put all the icons aswell as start button and so on to the center...
Thank you for this wonderful tutorial. I have a question. How do you change the transparency setting of the mond widgets to make the white backgrounds transparent?
00:04 Customize your desktop in just a few simple steps 01:34 Customize your desktop wallpaper using Lively wallpaper. 03:06 Customize Windows 11 cursor with concept version 2 from jabri Creations 04:38 Customize cursor and windows 11 path bar 06:12 Enable rounded taskbar and customize its appearance 07:40 Install and customize Rainmeter skins to create a clean and professional desktop. 09:13 Customize desktop using Mont rainmeter theme. 10:53 Install and customize desktop widgets for a clean and professional look Crafted by Merlin AI.
You can use Deviant Art for attractive widgets & Rainmeter software to customise everything you've seen here, but I won't recommend installing any of it, it will slow down system start-up, higher usage/consumption of RAM & also may face System crashes problem a bit often if your system is Low or Mid end PC.
Of all the things, the thing that caught my eye was the pop up of caps lock. Can you share the name/link? I have to use a very generic looking one for caps/num lock because hp in their infinite wisdom didn't give a light or software popup
I recommend using taskbar xi instead, it won't make your taskbar round, but it will be transparent. RoundedTB has stopped working and hasn't for months now, it probably won't be fixed.
