Number 4 is my favorite!! My hair is so long and thick that I have so much trouble getting a messy bun to look okay and stay put. I think that one will look great on me! I can't wait to try it after work! 😊
I have hair down past my waist, and as a server I have to have it styles and secure. Messy bun #3 took a bit of time (since I can't reach the ends of my hair over my head) but it is SUCH A LIFESAVER. Now I just have to pray that it doesn't fall out :)
How do you fix all the loose hairs at the back of the bun? You have like cute short flyaway hairs but I always end up with like 3 inch long pieces falling out. I've bobby pinned them but I don't feel like it looks good. Any ideas??
If it involves bobby pins, it involves them falling out or not doing their intended job. I don’t know wtf I can’t control my pins but they just don’t do it for me. I really like #2 if I can figure out just exactly how you did it lol. I am not good with hair. At ALL.
Try using a scunchie instead of regular pony tail. It seems to hold my thicker hair better. Also, bobbi pins were designed to go with the wavy size down. This will help secure the hair much better. Hope these help! :)
If you have super thick hair, it'll be harder. The more hair the heavier the bun and sometimes it'll droop or the pins won't hold it up. Maybe search for a tutorial with someone who has super thick hair and they might have some tricks!
That one is the only one I know how to do and I wear it everyday, but it looks different EVERY SINGLE TIME and there’s only like twice a month where I get it to stay poofy and the rest of the time it just looks awful 😩
I wear my hair in messy bun #1 everyday. My hair tangles easily, so I just make sure to use hair ties that are gentle (like the SCÜNCI Hosiery Ponytailers). Also, it helps if your hair is either dirty or wet.
@@mrsbnunez Be careful what kind of ponytailer you use when you put your hair up wet! If you use a regular rubber band, you can definitely get breakage! It depends on how fine your hair is using bobby pins or any kind of hair clips. When you put things in your hair wet, especially if you are pulling it up tight, you can get breakage!
I wish my hair would look this good in these styles! My hair is super long, close to my bum long. I’ve mastered the high pony, then wrap all of my hair around and around and then slap a hair tie on top 😂
Amy Snyder mine is to the small of my back. My problem is that it’s so stinkin heavy. I sometimes feel like I have a weight on top of my head. Of course I deal with it for the love of messy buns.
I don’t have a whole lot of patience with hair and I’m also not very good with hair but your hair tutorials are so easy to watch and learn and I love how you slow it down even more so we can see every detail of what your doing. Thank you much!!
ArtsyEditsღ same -_- i literally have mental breakdowns trying to do my hair! and my sisters all have such smooth silky hair that always looks good and just omg i hate it..
I have pretty long thin hair, so I have a lot of length to work with but not a lot of it. so my favourite way to do a messy bun is to start like I'm putting it in a pony, but on the last loop leave a small bubble. So after I have my small bun with a long tail, I can either braid the tail into a three strand braid or even a fishtail or rope braid. Then I'll have a small bun with a braid hanging off, and I just wrap the braid around the base of the bun and pin into place. Idk if that made any sense, but hopefully you understand what I mean haha.
I’ve probably watched about 500 “messy bun” tutorial videos and this one is hands down the BEST one I’ve seen! All of your messy buns have been unique, easy to do and turned out super cute when I tried them myself! THANK YOU!
Here's a tip. Bobbi pins are designed to go the textured/wavy size down NOT the flat size. It will help secure the hair better. :) Thanks for a great video! Much love! xoxo
Im pretty sure it doesn't matter..I've been using Bobbi pins my entire life (I did competitive gymnastics for 10 yrs)and never did I have problem no matter which way I placed the pin. Im really curious as to what would make it different I'm not trying to be rude
Which ones are good for sports or running around a lot? When I try to do a messy bun, they always fall out because I am always moving around. Any tips ppl? Cool video btw ❤️
A sock bun like ballerinas wear. Or braid* your hair first, then bobby pin it every inch or so as you make a flat spiral (don't layer the coils). The segments of the braid should help keep the pins in place. Also, pins go wavy side down (I didn't know this for 46 years!), and make Xs with 2 pins. *You can do a French braid or two...this will give the bun a more textured suface to hold on to. IMO, sometimes it works better to do a bun from a braid without a ponytail--either from the French braid, or gather it where you want it and braid it. Tie it with a piece of string or yarn that can be removed later, if you need the guidance. When you make a ponytail first, you create a heavy, concentrated center that wants to liberate itself from your head when you're jumping and spinning. Doing it "my" way will distribute the weight more evenly. You can make 2 or 3 braids if desired--they can still be one bun, just flatten and spiral next to each other, don't twist & pile. Good luck!
I've fallen in love with bun #2!! My hair is a little longer than yours so I have to keep twisting which makes sort of a heart shape in the back 🥰 thank you!!
i have long, thicc, red hair and every time i use any hair tie that has an elastic it breaks. i’m thinking of cutting all my hair off but i would be bullied because middle school sucks ;-;
Noo don't cut off your hair, unless u really want to but if i were u I'd grow it out. I have long hair and my elastics used to break alot. Mine broke faster because i was tightening it too much. Maybe if you tighten it less it wouldn't break as much. Don't mind the bullies at your school jus do whatever style u wanna do, bullies jus want your attention.
Ya_Boi_ Izack i could be tightening it to much but it falls out if i do anything less than what i want to do. i also can’t cut all my hair off because my mom won’t let me lol
B Fischer My advice is just to try to wear buns and high ponytails frequently, and eventually your scalp will get used to it. At least that's how it worked for me! Hope I helped! ☺️
I do two elastics for high ponies. I pretty much part my hair like I'm doing a half-do, make one pony of just the lower hair on the crown of my head, then the second over the whole thing after I've combed back the front. The pony at the crown is less painful to tighten and creates a strong base so there's not too much pressure on the front strands.
I got my hair cut short a few months ago and the only way I can get a cute bun is to pony tail it first, twist it up into a bun, and bobby pin the pieces in. I loved all of these messy buns!!!
They are all creative though I like all except #2. Really good video!! Thank you now I can watch this until I get it right. Awesome that you created this video!
I said "this aint gonna work but im bored" so i got up and did number 3 without bobby pins or anything and although the process looks weird, it worked!!! Im so impressed. Im gonna try to this tomorrow morning so i hope it works again!!! Usually it doesnt 😩
