So do i put a plaque up that says, I will not be cussed out by a comanager? Seeing as regardless of his gripe with me, all i did was ask a question to a fellow coworker, that he apparently already did and rather than politely saying i have handled this, i got cussed at and belittled for it in front of other employees. We work in tandem. Im the office manager and billing is directly affected by what he, the service manager, manages. It was an innocent non invasive question but both the service tech and service manager treated me like shit. I was verbally abused yet instead of leaving the office like the service man-ager tgreatened to do, i stayed. He stayed too and didnt say another word to me. But honestly this is grounds for hostile workplace. Only reason i havent brought it up to my boss is his wife is undergoing cancer treatment. I dont want to be petty. This guy took advantage of my loyalty. Not cool.i have also been at my company 16 years. This guy 4 yrs. Is he really that threatened by me. Ive done his job before, im not trying to do it now. Because im trying to do mine better.
Im in college, and I have been dealing none stop sexist behavior towards me. I been in a gaming club for about 2 years now and the members don't really treat me as equals. What should I do? The president never lets me pitch some ideas that we could do for new video games on Unreal engine 5. Im really angry and upset about this what should I do ? One of the members even said to that they don't wanna be seen with a women at a gaming conference that we are suppose to be going to in April luckily the deans office handled it, but how do I deal with this??
im sorry to hear this and i completely relate. i deal with the same exact stuff in architecture and im ALSO a gamer in a gaming group and work in unreal engine 5 and its so exhausting and demoralizing. i still dont have the answers at almost 39. 😒
The last tip is true.. if you relate the situation of staring and gwaking to other men upper mgt and explain would you want your wife to be stared at and look at in a sexual way. Would you want your daughter .. I had this experience and the VP was also a sexist so his manager was too.. Both men were south asian and really thought it was no big deal and this is in the USA in 2023 and it was so pathetic and scary. To me, they were very behind. I absolutely hate this aspect of working in high tech its the sexism from South Asian men.
