When I was younger, I used to bite my nails severley and my nails would bleed and hurt so much. Trust me, try the things in this video and when you put your nails to your mouth, refrain yourself from biting them! Good luck :)
I tried all of these. Here are the results for me: 1. I somehow got used to the polish and it didn't bother me anymore? 2. The fake nails (because I picked at them) always fell off 3. It's kinda weird to bring a cuticle cutter to school... 4. I picked at the polish. It came off. Also, my nails are almost too short for a manicure. 5. This worked for a while, but then I started subconsciously chewing on the thing (e.g. pencil, pen, etc. Yes I know it's gross). What I tried and actually worked: 1. This is when you are at home. I taped my mouth shut (no joke). I also tried taping my fingers, but they got sweaty. 2. Chew gum. Sometimes it helps. Not guaranteed. 3. Make slime/playdoh. The stuff gets ALL over your nails and tastes 10x worse than any anti-bite polish. It's like reminding you that it's poison. 4. Never look at your nails. It tempts you. Hope this helped!
1. The "disgusting" nail polish doesn't bother me. Maybe it was the kind I got (or I have no tastebuds :l) I licked it off, then bit my nails again. 2. Always took them off. 3. Don't have a cuticle cutter. 4. Nails are too short for a manicure. 5. Doesn't work on me. Works: 1. I put bandages over my fingers and wore gloves but it did get sweaty. 2. I keep my hands busy. 3. I watch television, you know shows I like (definitely *not* guaranteed)
This happened to me once. I was hesitant to go because my nails are crap and when I went there the man giving me a manicure said my nails were really bad. I now get nervous even thinking about getting a manicure or having a spa day. Idk why but I don't like my nails at all and they make me feel bad and when he said that it just made me feel 10x worse
@@littlethera448 i feel you, i went to get them done for prom and she was giving me angry looks and comments so i never went again because im scared to be judged. That doesnt mean you cant have nice nails! I tried clear polishes for nail growth and strength and it can also help as a reminder. U got this!!

I found spraying perfume on my nails every morning was a great solution and it tasted horrible so I soon stopped biting them. I also sprayed perfume on my nails after I painted them. As well as this, I applied lip balm on my nails to moisturise them before I put the spray on. Like if this helped 😋
I got no-bite nail polish and only used it for one week and I stopped biting them immediately! I've been biting my nails for my whole life and I'm happy to change that and have long nails!

Why I can’t do these 1. I’m poor right now 2. I can’t have nail polish, fake nails ect at school. 3. The cutter won’t help. Sorry. 4. My nails are too small, to even paint my nails 5. I can’t fiddle, or write while the teacher is talking, it’s classed as rude.

a nail is never to short to be painted, just paint them. or get better bitter-bite polish. if you're just gonna complain about why nothing works without trying, then it's your fault that you keep biting your nails :/

+I'm fabulous i used to bite my nails, like really bad. but i wanted long nails, and that's what helped me quit. so maybe you dont want to stop the habit as bad. and i have long nails and still dont do nail art, but i mean polka dots and stripes and hearts can be put on a short bitten nail, just file the top to make it even and push your cuticls back, and then do whatever you want too. you couldeven do a gradient if you have the right supplies. so you can do nail art, just on short nails, same process

Eleana Springman Lol, she told me that there is bacteria under your nails. Some of that bacteria can cause stomach worms, which may possible grow up to 3 feet long and live inside of you feeding off of you (like a parasite). You will feel them inside of you, and one of her close family members had them and they would come out when she would go to the bathroom. After this, I had a really bad nightmare about having stomach worms and my stomach hurt, and I was so terrified I stopped biting my nails. Hope this helps!

One time I got my nails done at a salon for my birthday. That night I chewed and scraped the polish off. The manicure was expensive and I feel really bad about it, so I'm trying to break my habit.
Ugh I have that bad habit too. Its even more annoying that biting your nails. I bite and peel off the skin so much it starts to bleed a little and a lot of times I'm afraid of getting an infection. Its mostly just the skin around my thumbs nails. :(
I BIT MY NAILS WHILE I HAD BRACES. I HAD BRACES ON LITERALLY ALL OF MY TOP AND ALL OF MY BOTTOMS AND I BIT MY NAILS. THEY SAY YOU SHOULDNT BITE THEM BECAUSE IT CAN EFFECT THE BRACES BUT IT JUDT DEPENDS ON THE ANGLE BECAUSE IT DIDNT EFFECT MY BRACES AT ALL LOLLL I EVEN WAS A REBEL AND ATE POPCORN AND TAFFY BUT MY TEETH TURNED OUT GR8

Oh my goodness it's the same for me! if you can, find someone ( like a friend at school ) to smack your hand or pull your hand away every time they catch you. I've gotten someone to do that for me and it's annoying but it helps

I love that you put meditation as a way to kick the habit, because that's how I stopped! I bit mine since I was a child because of anxiety and stress but a few months ago I started meditating every morning and I haven't bit my nails since :) now that I have nails i can finally do nail art and paint them properly!
I not only bite my nail but the skin on my fingers as well. I’ve tried every single one of these and it doesn’t work. I can’t even do the nail polish ones because my skin is so raw that it hurts if it even TOUCHES my cuticles. I’m a piano player and it physically hurts to play. Any suggestions?
Another thing that I used to stop biting my nails is chewing gum,I keep a pack of gum in my pocket so when I get bored I chew the gum and not my nails,and now I finally have a big enough nail to do these kinds of nail art😊

I would LOVE to do nail art, and it would totally help me to not chew my nails, but they're too short to paint.... And I'm embarrassed that if I do, it'll just highlight how short they are.
I used to bite my nails all the time, so my mom bought that gross polish stuff. But I bit my nails so much that I started liking the taste of it and licking it off! So that didn't work. But when I got braces my orthodontist told me that if I bit them that it would mess up my braces, so I stopped. But now, I pick my nails. I'm 16 and I still can't stop. I was even doing it during this video! Maybe I'll try the coin thing so I have something better to do than pick them
Hey girl, just think you want beautiful long nails and that would be enough... I've seen really scary bitten nails and that stopped me from biting my nails for good. Now I have nice nails and don't feel the need to bite them at all. They look healthy and I don't even apply any product to them, just hand cream now and then :)
Could you possibly make a video on how to not pick at the polish? Im trying to let my nails grow using the polish but for some reason i end up peeling the polish off at times.

i didn't bite my nails but ripped them short with my hands when i was a kid...one day, when i was about 13 or so, i decided to stop and i did. i just thought "from this point on you will have beautiful long nails" and that was enough. BUT after that i developed a much more horrible habit instead: ripping off my cuticles and sometimes it goes all the way down the side on both of my thumbs...now it's all scartissue and it looks disgusting but i still can't stop the same way i did with the nail ripping one...sorry i went TMI...anyone else have the same problem? has anyone stopped doing it? how?

Putting lotion on your nails helps too. It doesn't taste too good, and enhances them too. Also, Germ-X works. I put Germ-X on my hands often, and the bitter taste is awful,as well as it gets rid of germs in your nails.
I pick layers of my nails off! I've tried sitting on my hands, doing something with my fingers, and pretty much everything. I can't get out of the habit!
Honestly, nail biting is a serious problem for me. I've been biting my nails practically my whole life. I'm 20 now and I feel like everything has failed me. Even when I get acrylics, I chew right through them! It bothers me so much because I really want nice nails but it just doesn't seem to be happening any time soon. It's a real addiction. I also crack like all my bones (fingers, back, neck, elbows lol, even my toes) idk why I do this!
Ive done it as long as i can remember as well, im also in my 20's. I finally just got fed up of having horrible nails and found a rimmel varnish that helped to strengthen you nails over 2 weeks. It worked out pretty well and made it so that i physically couldnt bite my nails. ]
Hi Sophia. I had a very similar problem to yours. I'm 22 but I stopped my nail biting at 21 because I wanted to have long, pretty nails myself. I tried many techniques including nail biting solutions and painting my nails weekly without putting nail designs on them but didn't work for me. One day I was letting them grow for a couple of weeks and I started looking up nail designs on Google, Pinterest, and RU-vid. When I saw how amazing and easy the nail tutorials were, I wanted to try them out and gave me the real motivation to stop biting my nails and now my nails are long and beautiful and I couldn't be any happier. I do paint them every week though and change up the nail design. That's why I go to Pinterest and RU-vid :) Plus I have so much nail polish in my house (50+ bottles) that I think it's deff needed to paint my nails every week. I also apply coconut oil to my cuticles every day to help them grow stronger. I hope my feedback helps. Good luck! :)
That's how I stopped too lol it really works! I'm really happy cause now I have pretty long nails, I just need to find a way to get them healthier looking.

i used to bite my nails for years but when i saw that they were weak and really short i dont know what changed in me but i decided not to do it anymore.... it was difficult but i managed to do it .Now my nail thank me for this!!!!

Its probably not the best thing for your nail but it may be better than ripping your actual nail. I liked putting polish on my nail and when it gets older scratch it off instead of ripping at the nail.

+Lauren Cooper Same here. Nothing works and after month I liked taste of anti-biting nailpolish. I can stop it only for month and then bite again. My mom said I started with first grown tooth. I think its more than just bad habit and its time to visit psychologist... :)
