Every nail person knows the moment when ur friend looks at ur nails.

Anyone felt that feeling when your hands exposed to ur friends, and they see ur nails, then they start observing their perfect nails, so you slowly hide yours.😳

I've been biting my nails most of my life and found this video because I wanna stop, but weirdly, I've never felt embarrassed or self conscious about it. Never hid my hands or avoided seeing friends because of it.

Nail files and acrylic nails helped me stop biting my nails in case anyone is looking for tips lol Edit: I know acrylic is bad for your nails, but once you can’t bite your nail it helps you break the habit by forgetting 🤷🏻‍♀️ and the deal w my nail biting is that they don’t seem perfect enough for me, so the nail file helps in case of a hang nail or break that way I don’t make it worse by chewing the whole nail off pretty much lol

I used a ghost pepper sauce and after about a week I stopped tasting it...now I LOVE hot sauce! ...and I still bite my nails

It’s different for everyone. For me sure I’ll bite my nails when I’m nervous or anxious but the 2 main reasons I do it is because I like to chew them the way people like to chew bubble gum. It’s stimulating in a way. So I can be perfectly calm and still bite them. Second has to do with loose ends. When the nail separates from the skin at the tip I have the desire to remove that part of the nail that is essentially for lack of a better word “dead” part of me gets worried the nail will snag onto something and have the whole nail rip off. However part of me likes the fact that there is a little bit of the nail edge because it does look nicer. But also for functionality. I try to keep my left pinky nail long enough to pry food out of my molars (maybe that’s part of why we have nails) and also I want the nails to be long enough to scratch an itch or help pick things like coins up etc. or even be able to grab a splinter. The main reason I hate biting my nails though it because they look funky and ugly afterwards. Unbitten nails are much more aesthetically pleasing than bitten nails

I was watching this and was getting nervous and then half way through the video I realized I was biting my nails 🤦‍♀️

What definatly helps me stop biting my nails is when i dip my fingers into gasoline, ill then go wash my hands but the gasoline smells stays on for bit. And when you go to bite your nails you end up smelling it, it makes me think that i might poison my self from the gasoline and it helps alot.

i literally JUST stopped biting my nails after 13 years. all i did was go to the store with my bitten up nails and buy myself a basic equate nail kit (cuticle pusher, file, clippers, etc), a healthy polish to nourish my nails, a buffer, nail polish in some cute colors, and started substituting biting for caring for them meticulously. not only that, but if i do get the urge, ill wedge my canine under a nail and just let it sit there, maybe apply pressure, and then go about caring for them again. my biting was fueled by anxiety and embarrassingly enough, me being unable to stand seeing them uneven. now i just take a file to them. i dont clip because clipping causes breakage. file in one direction. my nails are literally looking so good now and i cant believe i ever bit them. im going 3 weeks strong nown already have so much growth, past the skin already!

First put on clear nail polish and leave it and the. Pick it off and reapply and take Carlson’s very finest fish oil capsules. Made my nails STRONG and they’re lovely now!!!
