long-live the Blazer!😎❤️. I started wearing blazers in high school and have never looked back. So darn versatile. I have a few in my collection that I purchased in my 20’s (51 now) that I wear and still look beautiful. My oldest ones are quite classic and really good quality (purchased at crazy discounts, 80% or more). Think I inherited the Blazer Craze from my Mammy now that I think of it, cause she was well dressed and had a superb collection.
I have one blazer and it is black. I swear that thing goes with everything! I push up the sleeves, I push them down, I wear everything underneath it. It really is a great item. You gave me some terrific ideas. This was wonderful. Lots of love, Melissa
I feel a need to contribute an observation since I have a couple of friends whose jobs require them to wear suits. Hip joint is a problematic length for anyone pear shaped, which is the majority of women, at least pre-menopause. Highlights the widest part of the body. Your long line blazer is a great illustration. I love them because I'm short torso, long legs, and it balances me better and enables me to pull off heels. I'm really glad your content has become less specific to your body type and you give tips on who can wear what best. I'm sure it's a royal pain to order stuff you know you're going to have to send back just so you can use it for illustration but it's really appreciated!
You can never have too many blazers❣️ Awhile a ago one of your “wardrobe basics” videos inspired me to spend more than I normally would on an Armani black blazer...BEST fashion investment I ever made! I can wear that one piece with ANYTHING any time of the year! Thanks for your continued inspiration 💕
I'm a crazy blazer lover. I just can't help myself. Every time I see one, I must get it. My mom wears blazers and always has since I can remember. Thanks to her is that my love for BLAZERS was born. They're so versatile. Pink looks great on you.🤩
Loved this but I so wanted to flip your collar down 😂. Thanks for this , especially the length of blazer we need to watch out for with different body lengths .
I love the look of wearing a blazer. It just gives your simple tee and jeans that extra umpf. But I live in a tropical country. It’s summer all year round 😬 how I wish!! 😞
For part 2, do you have advice for hoosing and styling a blazer for women with a large bust (but not “apple” shape)? Since you have so many good ideas it would be a cool follow up to address more body shapes in addition to heights. Thanks for making your informative and entertaining videos!
I love blazers - great tips Erin, especially where the sleeve and hem length should fit. I worked in a bank for many years and wore blazers all the time, when I left I had to give a lot of them away - so sad. I have a few basic ones I keep now to throw on with my jeans. Thanks Erin! xxoo
Love wearing my blazers starting wearing them in high school in the 80s lol! I like to wear them with a rocker t-shirt,skinny jeans and flip flops in the summer and boots in the fall in winter. In high school I wore this outfit with hi top sneakers. Lol! Very informative video!
Thanks for doing this! I’ve got a mini collection of blazers I’m experimenting with. Never wore them before, and I’m absolutely loving the looks! This video helps me out so much!
Thank you for the "what to look for" tips. I am petite and often have the sleeves feel too long. Also, love the detailing on your pink blazer. Point on!
Thank you for these tips! I have always wanted to own a well-fitting blazer but have never known what to look for. I have a question though. I have broad shoulders and find the blazers I try on make them look even more broad. Do you have any style/fit tips to help me?
I have embraced the blazer since finding Veronica Beard thru your videos. I now own 3 Veronica Beard Dickey Jackets and 7 Dickey’s. The fit, cool style and versatility make the price paid totally worth it. I get so many compliments and questions, especially on my black scuba with the grey hooded Dickey combo. You are definitely my go to fashionista!
Really informative! I have so many blazers now and all lengths too. If I wear longer ones I tuck in my shirts and wear heels to not shorten my legs. I also have cropped ones and like them too. I also style mine with slightly distressed jeans and a silky blouse. Thanks for all the suggestions for the blazer trend!
Love the blazers!!! I wear them with everything! I always have to carry something to cover my shoulders in the air conditioned places! Love your pink one. Thanks for the examples.
Thanks, Wendy! Happy you liked the video! I just did a video on the fall trends of 2018...here's the link: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-bpJpX-pWVb8.html Hope you like it! Thanks again for watching! Erin xo
Thank you, Erin. This was such a practical and helpful video. Please go back to a mainstream department store like JC Penny or Dillards or even Kohls and show us 10 items for under $175..... that was THE most helpful video I've seen on styling. Blessings to you and your weekend
I learned a lot here! Would like to mention you have another video that covers the proper length of blazer choice very well. I think you were wearing white jeans (ah duh!) and showed options of black blazers and why you choose the shorter length. It was quality content just like this one~an Oldie but a goodie. Of course the older video you don't enlist the little tea pot as you did here. And truly appreciate the lesson in button placement, now I know where the sweet spot is. : ) XO-Bunnie
Good one!! I basically lean towards one piece and keep everything else neutral. Did you see my spring LOOKBOOK video? I added a floral headband and shoes to one look. I like touches of floral, but generally not full on. Love this idea...
So so helpful!!! What great tips & tricks you shared - the length, the bottom placement - such wonderful information!!! The Black madewell is sold out ... any other ones that are similar you can suggest?
As an alternative to a blazer I wear fitted shirts. My favourite is the denim shirt with different colours vests underneath to match my various outfits!
Thank you for covering the blazer! Love! I do have a question about basic tees. I am trying to find a brand that will offer basic tees with a true crew neck. It is hard to find crewnecks that are higher up towards the neck. The ones I find are usually too wide and open. I try to get the look by turning it back to front but would rather find a t-shirt that has a higher crewneck. Could you please recommend which brands I could look into? Thank you!
I love the blazer looks you developed. I’m learning so much from all your videos. What advice can you offer for those of us with broad shoulders who look like football players with shoulder pads? Believe me.... I don’t need any more volume or balancing out. 😏😁
I have a few videos that address broad shoulders. I'll link them here for you: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ClRCNNdKJaQ.html and ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Gt7rvcWEdJE.html
Hi Erin! What if the blazer is made to be cropped. Does that automatically make it too short for everyone? Alot of mine seem cropped in general now I'm not sure if they look bad on me
I have been looking for the classic tweed blazer for out in the country. I usually pair with a classic white blouse, jeans and boots. Does anyone know where this elusive creature hangs out?? Guess I Will have to keep hunting at Ross....
I would suggest buying a men's blazer. I once wore one that I bought at a thrift store to a job interview. The CFO interviewing me was wearing the same one! I got hired on the spot! As long as it is a classic cut and a good fit it really doesn't matter.
