I keep a cheap shower cap (the kind you get in a hotel) in my closet. When I need to pull a top over my head, I cover my face with the shower cap. It keeps make up from getting onto the clothe, and it also helps keep my hair from getting messed up.
@@BusbeeStyle I also keep the same type of shower cap and use while showering. In between hair washes, it keeps my hair from going frizzy from the humidity of the shower.
Thanks for the tips. 👍👍 One tip I found out about is wearing a scrunchie used for the hair, on both wrists. While washing your face in the sink, this will prevent the water from dripping towards your elbows..👍
Great tips Erin! One thing to remember is to remove the double stick tape before washing! Also, I use those flat ribbon type ponytail bands to hold cuffs on silky shirts (because I cuff everything!). Just add them into the first fold and then fold over. Because they are flat stretchy material, they stay flat and don’t dig into your arm.
I have a small head and sometimes buy hats that do not have adjustable headbands...to make them fit I open the upper edge of ribbon, It is always loose, that is on the INSIDE of the hat and put a rolled up thin strip strip of sponge padding /mine is from an old ironing board cover a separate piece of foam from the cover itself. This one old cover cut to measure in strip to fit inside each hatm will adjust MANY hats for me in future. I then tack the ribbon down with a few stitches to hold that padding in place. Works like a charm
I always spray suede protection spray on all of my suede shoes before I wear them. And water protection on my leather and cloth shoes. Prevent instead of react.
I’m a retired healthcare worker and I used to buy my walking shoes half size larger and insert 2 full insoles. It was so helpful, my feet did not hurt. 👍😊
Just told 2 women today about how I do this. We are on our feet 10 hr shifts- no breaks, no lunch, killer cement floors. This helps me so so much. I got insoles for MEN over 300 lbs. Serious Shock Absorption! Makes a HUGE DIFFERENCE 🤗
I love to go to music festivals but 7 hours on my feet were torture. I too bought boots in larger size so I could add extra padding. Last festival was a breeze!
I have a belly that stops me from wearing most styles. Recently I tried tucking just a little bit in the front, a 1/8 tuck, and was positively amazed at the difference it made. My belly was covered enough but the overall look was fantastic. I hadn't felt that good in years.
I do so many of these things even back in high school when everyone thought I was crazy. I use to put rubber bands around the sleeves my oversize 80's tops so they would stay pushed up and the ruched look would hide the band. I also can have an issue that if jeans make my rear look good they can be too tight in the waist. I take one of those clear elastics and secure one end to the top button hole and the other end around the button to allow a little more give in the area. Love all the hacks. I am obsessed with details to an unhealthy degree. =)
When the discs in my back deteriorated and I lost 4" in height, they didn't take the extra skin, muscle and FAT with them, so I have trouble with belts, too. This won't work for every situation, but if I'm wearing a blazer or open.shirt over a dress, I tie a scarf around my ribs, just under my bust. If I can't get a flat knot, I use a small clear ponytail elastic and turn the scarf tails to the side or back, or tuck them into the scarf. Creates a "waistline" without any "fat bubble" above it. Looking for more ideas from Erin!
I've heard for small torsos and people with larger bellies always wear a small, thin belt. For tall skinny people, wear thicker belts. Personally I like thin belts for dresses that highlight my natural waist. Because I'm curvier I should wear a thin belt all of the time but I like wearing medium to thick belts with my Jean's because they make me feel the most supported.
Thank you for sharing these tips! My grandma taught me to use a pencil eraser if you lost the back of your earring and have to scramble. Over the years, I’ve helped 3 ladies when I handed them my pencil’s eraser after noticing they’d lost the back of their earring!
Hand sew light shoulder pads to a tank top. Put that tank on underneath blouses, knits, or dresses that could use a little shoulder boost. I made a nude one and a black one.
Hi Erin, you look great in today's video. You have a healthy youthful glow (assuming it's the foundation and blush). Thanks for the tips, especially the double-sided tape hacks. One styling hack I would like to share is for those of us that love wearing high heel pumps is to get surgical tape (an inch or less in width) and tape the pinky & ring toes together. It works magic in saving your pinky toe and the secured alignment of the two toes help take off pressure at the ball of the foot. 🤗
Thank you for your , this video! my Mantra is... " If you ain't cheating, you're not trying" YOUR fabulous styling tips that are " on point !!" You perhaps covered this in the past,.. although here we go... what I have been doing for years... if I have a blouse or a shirt that's a cowl neck , round neck v neck shirt, or if it's too low,.or .any thing. TURN IT AROUND. Yes try to wear it backwards.,.. so often it will look better. Plus you reveals some of your back which looks very sophisticated.. feminine! Sometimes I want more of a colour-pop from my blouse , with my coat, jacket on .Wear it backwards!. I have tried on so many shirts, blouses tanks, etc and you can get two different looks by just flipping them around. BACKWORDS WORKS!. I have done this with dresses!!! I can't believe how many times I bought a dress, because I put it on backwards and it looks better backwards!!. Where if I didn't flip it around I wouldn't bought it.. OR ,It is two different looks too.. You probably think I'm nuts, And I am!! Also,, this way , people don't know if you're coming or going!.👍 Thkuuuuu for your love for Style, and helping everyone find their own style!. Your a joy,to watch when I can! I am older and not giving, into to looking frumpy, & dead yet.Only behind closed doors! I have learned so much from my daughter, with her helpful hints. It helps me Act my way into feeling good by, learning from these incredible younger people that are coming up in the ranks!.. They are bringing back fun Styles and color! THANK YOU, Ms.Busbee for all your help, and hard work! You're amazing!
I have worn clothes flipped around from front to back without even knowing it! Then realizing it was backwards, I would flip it again, and it didn’t even look as good! I totally know what you’re saying. :)
i put lip balm on my heels to prevent blisters and I wear a safety pin inside a slip or skirt to prevent static electricity. About 20 odd years ago when I bought an expensive suit, it just didn't quite look right and the clerk suggested having the sleeves shortened..it was just perfect!!! I still wear that suit to this day!! talk about value for money!!! it will look great this year cause it's matchy matchy and has shoulder pads!!!!
I love to wear ear rings and sometimes they don't hang straight. They sag! Use the large disk ear ring backs or the little patches you can that sticks on the back of the ear lobe and prevents your ear ring from sagging.
If you are a little busty or a blouse is just gapping a little, you can sew it closed. You don’t even need to sew the whole front, just the part at the bust. This works really well with shirts with the flap that covers the buttons. I did this with a Lily Silk blouse that I love but wouldn’t wear because of the “peek a boo” I was getting at just the wrong spot! Now I wear it all the time!
The tip I use most often I got from 40+style is a back half tuck. Being older and plus sized and short, I have a really hard time finding tops that are flattering in length and hem shape. We know that a slightly rounded hem is more flattering on some figures and that an open jacket, sweater etc creates a long line down the front which is also flattering for a curvy girl, or anyone really. When I'm wearing this look and have a straight hemmed shirt that I want to wear out for come tummy camouflage, I tuck the back half, which isn't visible under the jacket or sweater but gives a soft round drape to the front which is more flattering and comfortable.
Amazing video! I use the spray on the shoes because the other stuff comes out for me!!! Now let’s recognize the amazing job our Mother’s or caregivers did before the Internet. I would feel lost without it and yet they knew so much! I love to share things with my mom that I learn on the Internet.
Not a huge tip but in the cold weather, if I want to wear my ripped jeans and not be cold, I wear a pair of stretchy cotton/spandex pants under them that match whatever it is I'm wearing and it allows me to stay warm and still wear my favorite ripped jeans.
Yes, ripped or not, leggings are great in cold weather, and work well under jeans. I use them as 'tights' with skirts and boots, too. Gives that cozy, more dressed look. If the weather's cold, heels can look silly (to me).
If you or your husband has a hand held drill, that works great for adding holes to a belt. The hand held hole punch can be difficult if the leather is stiff or thick.
I have never seen anyone do this before, however I use double-sided tape to hold no show socks on my feet. I hate when no show socks slip down in your shoe. However with the double-sided tape they stay up all day even if you take your shoes off at home.
Thank you for "Still Standing" I used it on a recent vacation when I knew I'd be on my feet a lot. It is THE BEST! I would never have known about it if not for you. Thank you.
Since I have a tummy, I do a side tuck when I’m wearing a t-shirt and jeans. Gives a little more polished look and hides the stomach. Also, I’ll tuck my shirt into a jeans pocket or use the rubberband.
bethtx2000 Yes! I have a tummy and IF a shirt will allow and not actually highlight my tummy I do the half tuck in a pocket and you cannot tell that it’s not my waistband.
@@MyAmyNess Great tip to tuck in your pocket! I had surgery last fall which sadly left me with a tummy in the front, and my waist a little lower than it was. This was due to some skin conditions & tumors. So, while I'm now fine, Praise God, it's been frustrsting to tuck ... anywhere! The side half tuck in the pocket is a great idea! Thanks! To you & others who mentioned the same tip ! 👍😊
I push the sleeves up on my jackets and thin sweaters and use wide rubber bands or hair bands under the folds to keep them up! Nothing more irritating to me than the sleeves slipping down all the time because they will stretch a little after having them on a while. I used to shove toilet paper in the toes of my heels if they were a tad loose. I know not so classy but noone knew but me! Thanks for the video. Blessings
Great tips Erin! Thanks for sharing! You can also buy the leather hole punch at equestrian tack shops or farm supply stores that sell equestrian gear. If you own a saddle, everyone knows that adding holes on stirrup leathers is a must so most tack stores sell them.
One of my style tips that I have to do on almost all my jeans is to sew a small piece of material on the back side of the metal button. I have an allergic reaction to metals, especially nickel.
I use my power drill to add holes to my belts. Put the belt over a block of wood that you're okay drilling into, select the size of drill bit by putting it into one of the existing holes and use the one that just rubs against the edges of an existing hole. Drill the hole where you want it and keep the drill moving both as you drill into the belt and as you back out of the hole to get a smooth finish. I tend to space the new hole(s) to match the spacing of the existing holes, so sometimes this means adding more than one hole - I feel like this can look better than having one hole that's oddly spaced and also provides more options for where on my body I wear the belt. This only takes a few minutes and makes all the difference!
hi erin. you are very beautiful and i dont doubt that you are amazing closet organizer and stylist! i just discovered your channel and i must say i love it. not only do you have so many clever advices but you have a beautiful aura and one can just easily tell that you are a good and pleasent person. looking forward to seeing more of your content.
I do the hole punch trick as well. I’ve had to do it to my hubby’s belts if he loses weight actually. The other trick for belts is if someone is concerned about using double sided tape or you’re wearing a skinny belt, wrap a clear hair elastic around the belt (I use more matte finish ones). I use that ALL the time for skinny belts (wrap twice), I leave them on a lot of my belts. If it’s a dress with wide-ish loops, you can hide it behind there. Just helps those stiffer skinny belts to not poke out so much. Otherwise of course with a skinny belt you can tuck the end under, but it will come out and you’ll be fixing it all day.
Wardrobe saver!! Your tips and advice are making such a difference in my life -I’m getting compliments too! I am using the half tuck, adding belts, using stretched out hair ties for pushed up sleeves, and the folded sleeve tips since watching- also loved your how to wear booties video- jean cuffing and sock choice is key- you make style so easy and fun! Even got a full length mirror to tuck in the closet -so helpful! It’s so true that it’s the attention to detail and most often the little things that tend to finish off the outfit just right 💕xoxo
Actually that's a Military Cuff, except we buttoned up the cuff at the elbow. 😉 I bought shoe stretchers on Amazon (really inexpensive). I dampen my shoes & put the stretcher in until the shoes dry. Another Military tip...use blousing straps ( wide elastic with velcro) to keep your pants/ Jean's from riding & bunching up inside your boots when you tuck them in. The blousing straps, or a hair elastic can be used to Cinch up sleeves in blazers, jackets & sweaters. Great for that " pushed up" look, but holds them in place.
Someone told me to put rubbing alcohol on the inside of the shoe before you put the stretcher in. Just rub it inside with a cotton pad. You can also use alcohol on the inside of the heel when the leak is new and stiff, and it helps with the break in period.
Loving all the tips! I use double sided tape across my forehead. It prevents scarves, head wraps and tams from any slipping. Undetectable and works like a charm.😉 Test for skin sensitivety before trying.
Hi Erin, terrific video that I will definitely keep on repeat. One other hint I have learned from you is to cut the inside of the pocket off from dresses, pants, jeans. I have done this to five garments now. It gives a smoother line. Then I just stitch it so it doesn't fray. I can't do anything about the outside appearance of the pocket, but doing this makes the garment flow better. Another trick I have found is to replace buttons with higher quality ones. It totally transforms a dress, top, skirt or jacket. Same with belts. I wish manufacturers would use better quality fabric, buttons and belts and not waste the labour on pockets. Anyway, I have been thinking so much about your recent video on jeans. I am halfway to replacing my jeans from mid rise to high rise and your tips were so helpful. I think the zipper length is a crucial indicator of quality. I have been looking and so many of the jeans around have a shorter zip. So I am going to save some money and invest in a super quality pair of high rise jeans with a long zipper. Also, pocket placement was a revelation. Thanks so much for sharing your wisdom with us.
Great video. Thank you. One tip I have, to keep your blazer sleeves pushed up and not slide back down is to to put a hair elastic over the sleeve and cover it with extra sleeve material. I hope this makes sense.
Yes! That's the tip I was going to share! Especially if the blazer length is past the wrist (too long), or the blazer sleeve size is too wide to stay pushed up on its own, and you don't want to tailor it. I have a gorgeous gold-shimmer, animal-print, belted blazer I never used to wear until I discovered the "elastic trick"! Now it's part of the "20% that I wear 80% of the time." 😃🧥💛
Yes I have a tip! When you're taking a square scarf to wear around your neck like a bandana, first put it into a triangle. Then you take a quarter size width of fabric in the center of the triangle and put a small rubber band around it. Then you tie it around your neck. It gives you this little cool layered puff look! You'll have to try it
I am trying to get a visual of this and struggling. Are you able to give more detail? I get the triangle thing but what do you do with the rubber band? I am interested as I love scarves.
Heather, I was confused at first with the quarter size instructions. But I have decided that she means a quarter coin. In my head I was thinking 1/4. And I believe you hide the puff by placing it next to your skin. What do you think?
Heather Valentine what I do with my scarf is just grab the centre of it as if your going to tie a little pony tail with a clear elastic then that piece you can fluff it out to the length desired and start by putting it at the front of your neck then wrap the rest of it around, it looks like a little flower depending on how much you pull it apart, you can type in “How to Use a Scarf” on RU-vid and a whole heap of easy tutorials will pop up....🧣🧣🧣🧣
I think what she meant was to, after the scarf is folded in half as a triangle as she mentioned, go directly to the center of one of the two triangles created by the fold. From there, cinch the quarter (coin) sized puff and secure with the small rubber band. Then when tying the scarf around your neck with the tie to the back, put the cinched side on your decolletage while the other side of the scarf covers up the cinched section and the cinched side will subtly pouf out the scarf. I'm going to try this, I think it's a great tip!
Great Video Erin! My tip is for when you want to layer a sweater over a shirt or blouse. To prevent the shirt / blouse from bunching up on your arm, just hold the end of the shirt / blouse sleeve while putting your arm through the swearer sleeve. Then you can pull and cuff your shirt over the sweater sleeve if desired. 😊
My mom taught me that when she was still dressing me. Thot everyone knew it. Guess that's why I still have a 'thing' against 3/4 sleeves...they bunch up and are difficult to retrieve. lol
Great tips. I always buy a belt sized for my hips and then have my husband punch a hole in it for the waist. I always have double sided tape on hand for all the reasons you mentioned. But the tip for keeping the belt in place was genius. I never thought of that. Love the Still Standing spray. Never heard of it, I will look into it. When I was a pre-teen I used to visit my two female cousins, who I always thought were so chic and sophisticated (they were). I learned a lot from them and their mother about beauty tips, but the one I have always used since then is to always tuck your shirt into your underwear, so that it appears smooth under your clothes. You did that with the Spanx,. which is basically the same principle. Thanks Erin.
Yes! I'm stretching a pair of boots right now by spraying a mixture of 3 parts water to one part alcohol (in spray bottle). Spray on areas of boots that need stretching. Put them on with socks and wear until the leather is dry. You can repeat.
flats with a square cap toe are becoming trendy ,loafer styles for women with a deep grove near the tongue with a shiny symbol with it on the toe area. I also highly suggest looking for flats with room that you can add soles to just in case , because many flats have a very low cushioning rate on the soles.
Ilene this is my life! I've found the cutest flat love knot, pretty detail type flats everywhere from drugstores to mega warehouse to sporting good stores to thrift stores and there's even a ten dollar shoe store in Phoenix that sells online. Do check out their heels because they look like Barbie shoes. Disclaimer the shoes are now over $10 and there's shipping but they're fun
I can't wear heel any longer becase of a fused big toe. But, now I only wear pointy toed flats, which elongate my foot the way a beautiful heel used to. Also, buy shoe clips to dress up plain flats, they are available on line.
Ballerina flats especially nude (they make your legs look longer) for warmer weather. Riding boots or above knee boots on colder weather, Tod"s style moccasins or more elegant sneakers for more casual look.
Hey Erin, love your channel. I've learned so much, so thank you. My tip: for tiny stains on your khaki pants, khaki or beige blazers, white tees, etc, sprinkle some baby powder in your palm, dip your pinky finger or a q tip in it, and lightly and carefully go over the stain (just the small stain, not the surrounding fabric). Gently blend or rub off some powder until it's subtle, and it gives an overall illusion to the eye that it's all the same color. Hope this helps someone!
Hi! I took your advice on an earlier video about a leather hole punch and purchased one on Amazon. It’s been terrific. I’ve been able to add holes to some of my belts so I can wear them around my waist as well as midrise jeans. My husband just used it too and it looks professional. It also saves me $45 because that is what my cobbler charges for a new hole in a belt.
Thank you ♡ I am 49 a mom of 3 trendy daughters and A BOSS, An Innkeeper operating a Lakeside Lodge in rural Buckhorn Ontario Canada brrrrr. You have breathed new life into my dress style and inspired me so very much. Xoxo
Happy Sunday Erin! Double sided tape love it. I love the sweater tip. You are such a wealth of wisdom. Thank you for all the fresh ideas. Have a wonderful day.
Girl! You are talking my language! You are just too amazing! You are such a beautiful and talented person ! Thanks for these tips. Some I already use, but some are new. Have a blessed day! 😊
Hi. Loving all the helpful tips! Double sided tape worn across my forehead keeps scarves and tams very secure. I suggest testing in a less conspicuous area before trying.
THANK YOU ERIN!!!🥰🥰🥰 I’m from Sydney Australia. Only discovered you last year but yours are one of the most HELPFUL channel, info and tips in helping me right now in my new journey of self/improvement and self love regarding beauty and fashion🥰 Keep up the GREAT work and inspiration!!!🌟⭐️🤩🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼 Looking forward to seeing your next new instalment😉 xo M
Bam! Makes me giggle when you get a giggle out of what you’re talking about. 😂. I’m hoping you will do a video about the SKIMS shapewear. Your insight is my most trusted source. 👍🏼
Yes!! I have been looking into it as well, read the reviews to make sure as she has done some inferior quality products in the past. I am on the wait list and it does seem affordable, but I would value your insight, too, Erin.
I gotta get some double sided tape ASAP! Thank you Erin! Can you please do some styling tips on sweaters? It snowed here last night & as petite fluffy gal I feel my look a bit dumpy in my bulky winter sweaters. Can you also link your jeans in this video, I love them them. XO
Double-sided tape: I can't emphasize this enough- whatever you do DON'T forget to take it off before you wash & dry! Talk about gunk you can never get out. It was a sad day for me when I figured this out the hard way. LOL.
Diane Yuhas , yes a mess. Do something like leave the tape on your dresser all day. That way it will remind you when you undress that night. Be sure to keep it in a drawer if you are not using it, so that you don’t start ignoring the reminder because you see it every day.
When wearing a cross-over (wrap) top, I make sure I stitch a few stitches, with needle and matching thread, at the junction. No need for double sided tape that needs to be removed prior to laundering.
I hadn’t thought of the double sided tape especially can be useful for those wrap tips where the tiny snap has fallen off (grrr). Also cut a square from an old t shirt and put over hair and face before pulling a shirt over your head. Save foundation from getting on your favorite top!
I have a tip! I use large cloth hair ties to keep my blazer sleeves up in that scrunched way. Otherwise they always fall. I don’t like the rubber ones bc they can hurt and cut off circulation in ur arm! Lol. But the large cloth ones work great and I just hide the band under the fabric of the blazer.
Erin, these were great tips...especially the one for the double-sided tape! I use the hair tie hack for my shirts but I tie it in the back part so it has a ruched effect. Thanks again for the style tips!
These are awesome tips!! Thank you! Also...you look gorgeous!! You are doing something different....maybe your skincare routine needs to be shared along with this make up look ;) xo
I am a petite gal, so I am very used to rolling up long sleeves on my shirts and jackets. Luv your styling tip on rolling up long shirt sleeves, it’s a new one for me, I’ll definitely give it a try! Also, luv the double sided tape tip for dealing with excess belt length! Brilliant tips! Thank you so much!
I ALWAYS put baby powder in my closed toed shoes (or rub it on my feet) when I wear them without stockings or tights. It prevents my feet from sweating and sticking to the shoe and it keeps blisters at bay.
Here's a tip that works for me and might for someone else. I'm short waisted with a small bust, small waist, but big hips. Everytime I wear a belt no matter the width, it looks all wrong on me. It always emphasises that my hips are big, just what I don't want. I bought a flowy polyester dress one day and it came with a belt made of the same fabric that just ties around the waist, no buckle, no leather. Wow, I couldn't believe how balanced my hips, waist, and bust looked, like an hourglass and not a pear shape! It never occurred to me that just a simple fabric belt that ties would make that huge of a difference, but it does! I now use that fabric belt for most of my dresses. Oh, and I also use it on long, wide, flowy blouses, it turns them into peplum blouses, looks amazing!
When you need another hole in a leather belt RIGHT NOW and don't have a punch, you can burn it through with a red-hot darning needle or a nail. Carefully mark the spot and choose a nail that's a little smaller than the existing holes. Using pliers, hold it in a gas or candle flame till the tip is red hot, then quickly poke it through the marked spot. Wait a moment, then brush away any charred leather and you're done. Only for real leather belts, though, not pleather etc.
I love your tip about buying a belt a size larger and buying a hole punch to customize it! I have fluctuated in weight over the last 6 months and it has inspired me to customize my good-quality larger leather belts instead of donating them! Thank you so much!
My only style tip is to wear beige bras or flesh color bras. It keeps you clean and crisp under any color top. Make sure that your bras fit correctly too.
My tip is to use a rubber band to keep the sleeve of a blazer “ zhuush” up! Bring the fabric over the rubber band and I don’t have to keep pushing my sleeves up all day long!
Ive worked in womens clothing retail for over 15 years and you can never have enough tips and tricks when it comes to adding additional items. OMG! I love the cuff tip. Lol... it seems crazy I didnt know this. Thank you
I just learned about Moleskin. I have yet to try it but have a pair of flats and a pair of booties I love but rub behind my heel and inner ankle bone. Moleskin is supposed to prevent blistering from rubbing of shoes. Now I can keep my flats and booties !
Good morning Erin. I always enjoy your videos. For me, a game changer in the way a blouse looks on me, is wearing small removable shoulder pads. My shoulders are rather narrow, and it balances out my look, especially if I wear a fitted dress, or have a blouse tucked in. Kathleen Kirkland made the best, but are no longer available. Thankfully I saved all of the ones I bought years ago. Blessings, and joy, beautiful..MaryEllen
Hi MaryEllen, I have same issue as you. Try the MystiqueBra silicone adhesive bra in clear, the kind that comes in two pieces. I order size C or D from Amazon. They're kind of tear drop shaped and the fullness at the one end mimics an up-curve of a natural shoulder. The other end goes under your bra strap and they can be trimmed to not peek out of the collar of your top. They're way more undetectible than the Kirklands which I also have. They stick well to your shoulders and you can wash the adhesive to make it re-sticky. Because they're silicone, they feel more like a natural shoulder. Holler with any questions.
Hi Erin! One other useful tip for adding more holes to a belt is to use a drill! (I am not a handy person, but my husband is! ) For those of you who aren't comfortable with tools, kindly ask a friend or family member to do it for you. :D By the way, thank you so much for your content. I love your channel!
If you found your new heels/shoes are rubbing the back of your ankle to the point of agony, crisscross 2 band aids on the spot where they are rubbing your heel, to make an X shape. The band aids will create a cushion, and stay in place, and won't roll up or down. The first aid guy at Cedar Point taught me this. I thought my sandals were fine, until walking on them for 5 hours... lol I of course threw them out after, but saved me for the day.
Erin, would you do styling tips for 50+ women. After menopause, my weight migrated from my bum to my waist. I love belts, tucking in my shirt, but with the weight shift, I have yet to figure out a way to hide my thicker waistline. Most of my friends are postmenopausal like myself, and we all have this issue. My weight hasn't changed, but where the fat is located has. HELP, girlfriend!!! The struggle is real. A woman of a more vintage age cannot style and wear clothing that is designed for women in their 20s and 30s, nor would I want to. We still want to look stylish and elegant, no matter our age. Love, love, love your channel.
That's a great idea and I'm so sorry you're struggling with these issues! Have you watched this video? It might help! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-d4qjdCvxqWg.html
Those tips are great, and I use all of them. My issue is trying to wear a pair of slacks or jeans with a belt and a button up shirt tucked in. I like a crisp white Ralph Lauren button up shirt tucked into a good fitting pair of jeans and a belt for a casual day. I have every type of shapeware from Spanx to KKW's new SKIMS, and nothing helps with how a woman's body changes after menopause. The hormonal changes wreaks havoc on our bodies. At 5'3", 120lbs, my weight is all in my stomach area. I'm seriously considering liposuction or cool sculp. Until then, I guess we older gals have to use camouflage techniques. Thank you for all of your great styling advice.
If i am wearing shoes without hose or socks, I always spray the soles of my feet first with spray deodorant. It keeps my feet from sweating and my shoes never smell...even leather!
Angela Patterson I don’t wear hose either and my shoes never smell. I would refrain from practicing that deodorant spraying. We get so much toxic material in our system.
I LOVE it when you do these types of videos! You are soooo right, it’s all in the little details. That elastic band trick, awesome! And, kudos to you girlfriend for the spanx full monty! 👏🏼👏🏼💟 (Ooh, the double sided tape for belts!!🙌🏼)
Unfortunately, if using double-sided tape for a belt you'll be wearing all day, it won't stay for long. A few trips to the restroom and the sticky will be greatly diminished.
Great tips, thank you! What do you recommend to prevent ball of foot pain with high heels when standing? For the still standing spray, how frequently should it be applied when using the same shoe for extended periods?
Great tips ! My questions are .. If you used the fashion tape to secure a belt that’s too long ,can you use the same piece to re-stick it if you have to go to the bathroom ? or does it work multiple times ? Also if it’s stuck to fabric how do you get it off before laundering?
I accidentally washed shirts and dresses with double-sided tape still on the fabric. Actually worked out great. Most of the time, I didn't have to remove and reapply the tape, it still adhered so well. But that was only with the same brand that's linked in the description box. When I tried a cheaper brand on Amazon, in a tape dispenser for swimsuits supposedly, it was super frustrating to peel off, apply, and it didn't adhere well.
Yes! If you use high quality- it should stick/re-stick a few times! I found this for getting the "sticky" off of clothing- Saturate a cotton ball with isopropyl alcohol or a waterless hand-sanitizing product. Press the soaked cotton ball into the fabric to remove the remaining pieces of tape. Rinse the stain with a clean cotton ball dipped in water. Pour a teaspoon of a mild pre-treating product over the stained area.
