I don’t even use planners but the way you recycled all these is so inspired! You forget how much waste these create because people think they can’t reuse them
This is by far the best thing I have seen on here for the planners. I was getting sad that I couldn't figure out how to reuse last year's planner without buying a new one. But this has given me a whole new look at all of it. Bless you, for sharing this!
Since most months are either 30 or 31 days, just look at what day of the week, say August for this year starts on a Tuesday, and find an old planner month that starts on a Tuesday. It may be February for 2017 or whatever. Then just change the Month name.
But the dividers with the months laminated on them are attached to the first page of the monthly calendar, and they are arranged to go down the right edge of the planner in a specific order. So I just change all the dates and keep the months in order. I know it's a lot of work. Lol
These recycling old planner hacks are GENIUS! I was at hobby lobby the other day and saw a happy planner on sale but was expired so i over looked it but i ran back today to see if it was still there and it was! And i grabbed it! Love these tips! New subbie here ☺️☺️💕
$1? I thought I got a bargain when I bought a bunch of happy planners for $3 each at Michael's. They still had 6 usable months at the time. I have always changed dates, but I never thought about all the other ideas. TFS.

I just happened to find your channel and when I saw what your subject was I had 2 keep myself from screaming! 2 days ago my husband was in r room (which I'm trying 2 clean & organize so stuff is laying all over) & started seeing all my old but brand new planners which are so cute! Ok, I have quite a few , but they make me happy & feel like I'm going to plan one day lol. He started picking them all up telling me that they need to b thrown away ! That they r Useless! a waste of Space! Blah blah. I responded by telling him that u never underestimate a crafter & that I will most definitely find a good use for them ! Now I don't have to think as hard about how to use them! Thanks so much!
Ha! Men! They have no idea. Luckily I DO have a very accommodating one who built me a crafting area BUT does like me to keep it tidy. 😂 That can be hard when you’re a crafter! Now you can make some beautiful little mini-planners and parade them around under his nose 🤪🥳👏🏼 Have fun!
Great ideas for upcycling our favourite planners. I cut off the monthly tabs and have a tab punch to make new ones. I recently got a Cricut Maker 3, Cricut Joy Xtra to go with my Cricut Explore Air 2, so can make new dashboards and covers templates on them and cut them out neatly as hands painful due to arthritis, and incorporating your awesome ideas, I can easily make new planners for Friends, Family and myself again. Such great ideas, I love your way of looking at things and I love upcycling! I bought the purse size happy planner which I prefer for my daily schedule, and the medium size planner that I have from the previous year I turned into a prayer journal. I write down people that I am praying for and their request. The back of that planner contains lists of things that I am saving money for to do to my house. I love all your ideas and plan to hit all of my outlets! ❤👍
Love your video. I’m to lazy to change all those dates. I would just change the months. Find the monthly that starts with the 1st on a Monday for July 2019. Then just Month in the month and weekly pages. Wish we had a Dirt Cheap store here in Columbus Ohio!
I’m just waiting for my first planner to arrive. I got the Geo Happy Planner for £5 here in the U.K. its dated 2019, but I’m going to redate it 😊 excited to start my planning journey!! ❤️
Such great ideas. I am in the middle of repurposing my 2019 BIG happy planner for 2020 by reassigning 2020 months with the corresponding 30 day or 31 day (month) from 2019. For instance, January 2020 matches May 2019! No need to renumber the days. White out the old month and year. Boom ! Big HP for 2020!! Plan to use it for a journal and self care!!
I am so glad this popped up for me to watch. I will be incorporating my horizontal mini into my fitness for daily thoughts on how I did that day. Such a great idea as I have several mini that I’m holding on to. Thanks for sharing

I love the idea for the teacher planner. I will save my cover and any extra pages I don't use, and then add more notes and checklists for a teacher notebook. :) So cute!
I use the the extras to make sticker albums ! Like the ones they sell. I some times cut calendar sheets in half punch the non punched side. Run the tape guns down the page a few times and stick the sticker page down! This works for my sticker books with themes. When done tear out page and throw away or stick another sheet down. I also use the little calendars in the corner as habit trackers

I really appreciate so many great ideas 💡! I was getting started and then our son got engaged 3 days before we moved (UT), we moved (CA), grandma gad a heart attack 5 days before the wedding (UT), traveled (CA to UT), wedding (UT), a nephew got married (FL), traveled to CA, grandma died 7/4 (UT), traveled to UT, funeral & burial (UT), niece got married (UT) and another niece had her firstborn (UT) all in 3 months! I got distracted, disorganized and behind. I’m grateful for lots of ideas to help me reuse planners! Thanks!

I would be in ALOT of trouble! 😊 I barely can control myself with the many Micheals/ Joann's/coupons, Hobby Lobby, local scrapbooking stores, Ross, Dollar Store, Tuesday Morning, not including online. May it's better we don't have one in California.

TIP TO REUSE MONTHLY DIVIDERS - I would take scrapbook paper to cover up the side of a monthly divider that had Half of the monthly calendar on the other side by just cutting out a rectangle the size of the divider and then I would hole punch it with my happy planner hole punch .....and then re-sticker the month to my own subject By using a blank label over the old month. This allowed me to actually custom make my own dividers without having to buy new dividers and then I would be able to have extra sections in the back of my planner for things like notes, recipes, budget.... and I’ve been doing this for a couple years now. Moving forward I am really trying my best to re-create my own planner printable‘s on high-quality paper instead of continuing to purchase the happy planner extended months times two to basically re-create an entire year to be able to use the same planner cover with dividers. I really wish they would create an accessory pack that is an entire undated year but I can only guess that most of their money is made on people buying a new planner practically every time new planners come out so I don’t think they will ever do that. LOL😁

Girl thas how I been using all my expired Happy planners. Re-use dividers too. Glue them or trim. Since I'm in a #nospending zone. I need go get this $0.50 cents sheets girl love color paper sheets. I try to buy the non dated ones. My Michael's never had Micro notes so I made mine. Thanks for sharing.
I've been using them to fill a Sticker Storage Book because I didn't want to spend the extra money on buying replacement tabs for the storage book - cut the page down the middle and attach sticker sheets on both sides with a glue stick!
Thanks for all the super creative ways to use up planners. Now that the school shopping season just ended I'll hit up a few stores in the next few weekends looking for some good sales on those calendars that are halfway!
I love this idea!! You are Amazing!! I see expired planners and some I know how to use that are not dated, but the dated ones my brain freezes up on how to use use them. I love that you brought this awareness out to the craft/planner community. I find expired planners when I dumpster dive and I keep a log of what days and places i find what. So the dates arent as critical for me more or less the days of the week. I'm currently doing one all Halloween themed one and am planning to do a kawaii theme for another. Any way to upcycle is great!!
Oh yes! Good for you! I must say I watched a couple dumpster diving on RU-vid and they found a boatload of out-of-date Happy Planners in the dumpster. They kept throwing them aside saying noone would want them...you should have seen me screaming at my screen. "Takes them! Take them! Those discs alone are worth money, and the covers. We'll recycle them! Auuuggghhhhhh!" ROFL 😂 They did get a lot of comments educating them of this fact so I think they will take them next time they run into a dumpster full of them. LOL
@@tcsgirl6865 heck yeah there are several ways to recycle them. I have a drawer full. I've never found the multitude I've seen others find but I'm happy to have the few I do.
@@ItsLaurenE You gals are so lucky. Where I'm from (Finland 🇫🇮) they don't even sell Happy Planner stuff in stores😞Only way to get them is online. So as of yet haven't been able to get a hold of them, just (bullet) journaling on cheap notebooks at the moment.
@@suzawilo hey it's cool you can get cool stickers off wish for really cheap and decorate the heck out of it. I'm no planner expert mine is just for the sake of recycling, the one I'm working on is a cheaper brand. My challenge will be making it Halloween all year and trying not to over repeat too many layouts. Lol good thing it's just to log my dumpster diving stuff.

Great ideas. All I could think of was an art journal (I love mixed media art) but I have too many of those already. You had such great ideas, I want to go find some now.
Fabulous idea! I always intend to personalize things but life gets in the way. This would force you to be creative and saves you money. I will be buying expired planners now!

I currently have the 18 month Jan 2019-Jun 2020 Big Happy Planner. I am having difficulty finding fashionable hardcovers and a creating a more efficient/organized life planner system. Please help. Lol.
You can always recycle them or give them to a thrift store as well, trust me people will get creative and find a way to use them instead of just throwing them away, that’s just a waste
