I remember one day our cat freshly gave birth again. Her brother came to visit first for food but then he heard meows in the living room. His reaction was priceless. He slowly and curiously went to her, putting his paws on the box to stand up and look inside the cardcoard box and began greeting and purring. And soon after he wanted out, demanded like crazy to get out (via the window) and instead of going completely outside he deliberatly stood between inside and outside to prevent us from closing the window. He started meowing REALLY loudly and after a minute or so the last son of the mother cat came running (I suppose he called for him to come) and they both went inside, going to the mother and wanted to look at her again. It was so precious, like they congratulated her on the birth. It was almost surreal!
"Jr! Hey Jr! It's happened! Get over here! It's happened!" "What? What's happened uncle?" "Your new brothers and sisters are here! Come on! Come see them!"
william jafta you don’t either. Cats are nothing like dogs, they have their own language. He’s being slow out of curiosity and he’s being gentle. The slow blinks he does is cat language for trust. If he was asserting “dominance” he’d have knocked the kitten down or hissed 🤷🏼♀️
william jafta honestly I’m not going to read all that. I know it’s not just fighting, I’m not dumb. Just saying it’s way different with cats than other animals and what that cat was doing wasn’t really to be dominant. More curiosity and inspection
william jafta would, but I have better things to do. Never said none of the animal species has dominance, but okay. All I was saying is cats have their own and different language and what they were doing right there wasn’t really dominant 🤷🏼♀️ Thanks for trying to educate when I really don’t want or need it though
william jafta you can keep being rude or calling me names all you want, I really couldn’t careless. Why would I even need or want to educate myself about something when I don’t need to and if I did, why would I even listen to you? Lol
+Adrian A truth be told? thats what they deserve. All they do is fuck their mother and then go find another female cat. The mother has the sole responsibility of raising the kittens herself. Its completely understandable.
I really like this Dad. He seems to have experience with other kittens - maybe his sibling litter. His moves are self-conscious, deliberate, and slow. Not a hint of hunting posture or threat response. His ears are alert but not fearful. He is tactful, waiting for a kitten to turn its back before sniffing it deeply, which is a bonding behavior. He relaxes and dabs at the kitten to gauge its playfulness then smells his own paw. He is beautiful inside, and out!
What a great dad! He could have just taken the kitten out, but allowed the kitten its voice. Then went back licked and even did the little bump on the head! Bravo, daddy cat!!👍👍👏👏🙏🙏❤
"You don't look like my mommy.... okay, you SAY you're my daddy... where were you when I was in nursery school?? You weren't even there for our one week birthday!!!!"
But he didn't get neutered, so now he has to deal with it and raise his kittens right without asking for entitlement programs. I don't want my taxpayer money to go to a cat who was stupid enough not to get neutered!
If my 3 week old baby did that I would grab it by the legs and I would throw it at a wall and shit on its face and make it eat my shit then when I'm done I'll spit on it to show it it's place
I have two Cats; Sam the male and Lexy a female. They had kittens and the whole time she was giving birth he was licking her to groom her and was by her side. She never once hissed at him or felt threatened by him being near the kittens. He was a most excellent dad and way actually way more affectionate than she was.
They are lovely but will you get them ALL spayed or neutered now please? They may well already be pregnant by the time I post this. They'll interbreed and you could end up with way too many and if they end up in shelters they are already full so 100s of cats and kittens are euthanized every day. eg Facebooks Cats on Death row, Kitty Devore are just a couple.
Kurt Smolek such beautiful cats they are! You're a wonderful cat dad for taking them in, spaying and neutering them, caring for them, and giving them lots of love and most of all, a home! More people should be like you!
Man I love this primal reaction from the father cat and the kitten. The way the dad tries to communicate that it isn’t a threat to his own scared kitten. It is fascinating.
Christian Chavez it depends on the genes and the relatives so they get different pelts. I mean my kitten is black and white but the parents are all white but his grandpa is black and white so is his uncle!
A baby, a puppy and a kitten are in a situation where they feel they are in danger. The baby looks for its mother for help and protection. The puppy rolls on its back and exposes it stomach in surrender. The kitten, the tiniest of them all, backs into a corner to protect it from a rear attack, arches its back and prepares to fight to the death.
Alpha Kitty meets Alpha King of the House: I brought P-Nutt home, he was 5-6 weeks old, and first thing, he arched his back, hair on end, did the 'crab walk' up to 8 yr old Valentino and totally challenged him. 'Be Nice, Valentino!' Valentino took one whack, sent P-Nutt rolling across the room, and that was that. It was hilarious. P-Nutt got cajones!!!
The kittens were only used to mommas sent and their Humans, but daddy smelled different. Daddy was trying to get to know them, but had to take his time, coz he loved them.
EarenPr Don’t assume that all cats act the same way. You can’t prove that they don’t help out with kittens, and there are confirmed cases where they do.
Daddy cat: Hmm yes, you smell like mine. I'm going to teach you how to play "bip-bap"; it's like "catch" but for cats instead of humans and doesn't involve dog toys.
In the beginning, the dad cat looked like he wanted to say "Umm, I'm just gonna dip out for a bit & "go to the store". But then the fierce kitten calmed down, so all is good in the world again. Lol
It's only one time I've considered adult cat more beautiful than kittens even though they are adorable too but daddy is such gorgerous cat! I can't take my eyes off him :D
